Nonku and Jojo unfollow each other: could this signal the end of Joku?
The dynamic duo, Nonku Williams and Jojo Robinson, are facing relationship struggles after they'd announced that they would be sisters for life. Image: Instagram In a twist that has left fans of the dynamic duo reeling, Nonku Williams and Jojo Robinson from the hit reality show, "Real Housewives of Durban" have unfollowed each other on social media. Best known as "Joku," the pair's relationship has weathered its fair share of scrutiny over the years. Fans were heartbroken when they realised the pair were no longer following each other on Instagram, especially after the fifth season finale aired last Friday. 'Misunderstandings' These latest developments have led to questions about whether their five-year friendship can withstand the pressures of fame and personal growth. In response to the five-year friendship breakup, Williams spoke to News24 about their strained relationship. She said, "As I've deepened my faith, our paths have diverged. Jojo struggled to understand my spiritual growth and my call to share my faith with others. I believe it's my duty to spread the word about Christ, and I couldn't compromise on that. Unfortunately, our differences led to misunderstandings and blame being placed on others." Video Player is loading. Next Stay Close ✕ In the last episode of the reality show, Williams had also shared that she felt a lack of deeper spiritual connection with Robinson. She stated, "I'm not placing blame but rather recognising that our journeys have taken different turns. I'm focusing on my purpose and relationship with God." Throughout their friendship, Williams and Robinson faced scrutiny over the authenticity and depth of their bond. They were often criticised for being performative and taking sides during cast disputes. The strain in their relationship became evident after Williams announced she would not return to the show or film the reunion. 'Space to breathe' Following this announcement, Robinson posted a cryptic message alluding to the state of their friendship. She wrote, 'This isn't easy for me at the moment, but with the nature of TV, I can't share anything right now. I also don't know anything right now. I would prefer that my friendships be allowed SPACE TO BREATHE. It's a lot, guys. I need to figure things out. I've been in a friendship that has been under constant scrutiny from the public for years. We BOTH need some time and grace, so please allow us both that and don't assume anything right now.' As both women navigate the complexities of their individual journeys, the future remains uncertain for Joku. The question now arises: can a relationship that has flourished under the watchful gaze of reality television survive when the lights go out?

‘I love a challenge' – Londie London ready to return officially on RHOD
Seven weeks in, and we are still kept on the edge of our seats. It has been one dramatic scene after another. We've seen OGs Nonku Williams and Sorisha Naidoo trying to figure out their on-and-off friendship, Angel Ndlela and Jojo Robinson forming a surprising connection, Kwanele Kubheka opening up about her marriage, Lo Sithole challenging Nonku, newcomers Precious and Minnie Ntuli clashing over Precious's hair business, and Season 2 alumni Londie London returning to the show as a friend. The Real Housewives of Durban Season 5 has served all kinds of tea. One that's got a lot of people riled up, though, is Londie London's return. Despite some people not being happy about her return, she says it's been amazing to be back, especially now that she's in a comfortable space in my life. From the time she left, she admits that a lot has changed. 'The show has changed drastically for me. It is not just about the new faces; the overall energy and atmosphere are completely different. This season, I am focused on bringing more positivity and sharing what it feels like to rediscover yourself as a single mother.' Read more | 'I don't think Her Majesty's apology was sincere' – Noksie on The Mommy Club reunion To the suspected intimidation from the other ladies, she says she understands why Minnie, in particular, was hostile but she's surprised at how fast it all took a turn. 'Not at all. I am still surprised at how fast things have changed between us, and there is still more to come. Everyone will just have to watch the season and see how it all plays out. 'I do not think the women expected me to return, and being a public figure adds another dimension. People often form opinions based on what they see in the media and miss the opportunity to get to know who you truly are. That gap in understanding can create tension before any words are even exchanged,' she adds. Yet again, with the few appearances she's made thus far, Nonku and she were on each other's necks. Londie explains why they are always clashing. 'We are both strong personalities, and that naturally leads to tension. I also think Nonku does not respond well to being held accountable. I am very straightforward, and I say things as they are, which can be uncomfortable for some people.' Despite this, Londie adds that she stays in touch with Nonku, Jojo, and Sorisha, who holds a very special place in my heart. Read more | 'It has changed the attention I get online' – RHOD's Fafa on being a housewife Ahead of the reunion, she says she's ready to address everything that needs to be said. 'I am ready to address everything that needs to be said, and I have the perfect dress for the moment.' From the warm reception, viewers have called for Londie to officially return as a cast member. To their delight, Londie would be more than glad to accept the challenge. 'I love a challenge, and I think the group needs a bit of sass and spice to keep things exciting,' she concludes.
