Denise Richards has posted to Instagram for the first time since announcing her divorce from estranged husband, Aaron Phypers.
The actress and reality star shared a post on Sunday, July 20, in honor of her mother Joni Richards who passed away at the age of 54 in 2007 following a battle with cancer.
"Happy Birthday, Mom in Heaven," Richards captioned the post. "You would've been 72 today. We miss and love you so much."
Richards posted two photos to honor her late mother. The first picture showed her and Joni holding Richards' young daughters, Sami Sheen and Lola Sheen. The second picture was of a collage featuring multiple photos of Joni when she was younger.
Lola, now 20, shared a message of support for her mom in the comment section.
"I love you so much mom." she wrote with a heart emoji.
Sunday's Instagram post marked Richards' first post since Phypers filed for divorce on July 7 after six years of marriage. He listed "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split, and he noted that July 4 was their date of separation.
Last week, Richards was granted a temporary domestic violence restraining order against Phypers, sharing details and photos accusing her ex of physical assault in court documents.
She detailed the fight that ended their relationship while filing for the restraining order, claiming Phypers "repeatedly got within two inches" of her face and was "screaming" profanities at her.
Phypers has since denied all of the abuse claims.
