"The Daily Show" Destroyed Trump's Latest Biden Attack By Showing Literally Just 1 Clip That Proved He Was So, So Wrong

Daily Show host Jordan Klepper on Thursday mocked President Donald Trump after he appeared to claim that former President Joe Biden appointed Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. Related: Trump — who has entertained firing Powell, launching attacks against him for not cutting interest rates — described him as a 'terrible' Fed chair before adding that he was 'surprised' that Biden 'put him in and extended him.' In reality, Trump nominated Powell to the post in 2017 before Biden renominated him for a second term in 2021. He was confirmed by the Senate in both instances. Klepper jokingly took the president's suggestion at face value. Related: 'Yeah! Yeah, why did Joe Biden put Jerome Powell in? Let's go back to when Joe Biden appointed Jerome Powell and see what Joe Biden said about him,' said Klepper, teeing up a clip of Trump announcing Powell as his Fed chair pick. In a ceremony outside the White House at the time, Trump called Powell 'strong,' 'committed' and 'smart' (comments that conflict with his current description of the Fed chair as a 'stupid person,' a 'numbskull' and a 'stiff'). Related: 'I get it. I'm also trying desperately to forget everything that happened during Trump's first term,' Klepper quipped. Klepper then highlighted Trump's 'pretty much nonstop' threats to fire Powell before turning to comments showing that Powell doesn't seem 'fazed' by the president's talk. Powell, when asked if he believes the president has the power to 'fire or demote' him back in November, had a simple response: 'Not permitted under the law.' Related: 'Wow!' said Klepper as the Daily Show crowd applauded Powell, who repeated his comments in the clip. Klepper joked, 'He went on to add, 'Try me, bitch.'' 'He Went Full Messy Bitch': Jordan Klepper Shows How Trump Just 'Absolutely Lost It'

'Daily Show' correspondent Jordan Klepper said there's a reason President Donald Trump's attempts to get his fan base to stop talking about Jeffrey Epstein are falling flat. It goes against his entire career, which has been built on working to 'heighten the drama' as much as possible, he said. 'You can't spend your whole life as the messy bitch from a reality show and then suddenly say, 'can we have some decorum here, please?'' Klepper pointed out. 'Because this does not sound like Donald Trump.' Trump and his allies had promised to release documents related to late convicted sex offender Epstein, including a long-rumored 'client list.' But last week, Trump's Justice Department said no such list exists and there are no more documents to release, causing at least some of the MAGA faithful to turn on the president. 'This is a shocking turn of events for Donald Trump,' Klepper said. 'His own sycophants are breaking ranks with him. And even worse, they are demanding accountability.' The president is not happy. 'By this morning, Trump had absolutely lost it on his supporters,' Klepper said. The president fired off a message on social media essentially kicking those people out of his MAGA movement, saying he doesn't want their support anymore. 'Goddamn! He went full messy bitch,' Klepper said. 'If you can't handle me at my sex crimes cover up, you don't deserve me at my alligator concentration camps, you sluts!' Jordan Klepper didn't explicitly accuse Trump of being in the Epstein files, but he might as well have.

Jordan Klepper has the receipts. The Daily Show co-host reminded MAGA of Donald Trump's ties to Jeffrey Epstein on Tuesday night as the president continues to deflect on the backlash to his administration's apparent refusal to release the Epstein files. 'Let me offer one possible theory,' Klepper said. 'Perhaps you've heard of Occam's razor. It's the idea that the most simple explanation is probably the correct one.'
