Glastonbury fans complain over Rizzle Kicks snub after Jordan Stephens' message

Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sule, known as the duo Rizzle Kicks, performed on the Other Stage at Glastonbury today with Jade Thirlwall among those in the crowd Fans of duo Rizzle Kicks shared their disappointment with the BBC earlier over their set at Glastonbury Festival. The reaction came after bandmate Jordan Stephens had himself issued a message about filming at the festival. Jordan and his bandmate Harley Alexander-Sule, both 33, performed together as Rizzle Kicks on the Other Stage at Worthy Farm in Somerset this afternoon. It marked the duo's return to the festival after making their Glastonbury debut on the BBC Introducing Stage back in 2013. ‌ Prior to their latest set, Jordan announced yesterday that the BBC, the "exclusive broadcast partner" of Glastonbury, would not be filming it. He shared the news in a statement issued to fans on Instagram ahead of their return today. ‌ Jordan wrote: "The BBC are not filming our Glastonbury set. If you're not there you will not be able to watch it back. It might well be once in a lifetime. Who knows." He added at the time: "The set is [fire emoji] and we're buzzin for it." His partner Jade Thirlwall, 32, later expressed disappointment over the situation. The Little Mix member, who is set to play the Woodsies Stage tomorrow, referenced the news on her Instagram Story whilst sharing her excitement over getting to see him perform at Glastonbury. Alongside a selfie, she wrote this afternoon: "What du mean I'm about to watch my bf at glasto when we were dreaming about it this time last year. Rizzle Kicks set isn't televised (booo) so get into it and get here to the other stage lol." Jade isn't alone in her disappointment, with a number of fans having expressed frustration over Rizzle Kicks' set not being available on BBC iPlayer. Several other acts who performed on the Other Stage today, like Franz Ferdinand and Gracie Abrams, were livestreamed. The livestream for that stage however began at 2.15pm, which was after Rizzle Kicks' set. ‌ One fan wrote on X: "Rizzle Kicks not being broadcast at Glastonbury is a travesty, especially compared to some of the s**t that they are showing." Another wrote: "@BBCiPlayer why can't I found Rizzle Kicks. I'm really disappointed." A third person, who had previously requested a livestream be available for the set, later posted: "Thanks guys missed Rizzle Kicks great job." Another said shortly after the duo's set began: "No Rizzle Kicks on iPlayer, sort it out lads." Approached for comment, a spokesperson for the BBC told the Mirror tonight that the broadcaster will be providing more than 90 hours of performances. They said: "The BBC, Glastonbury's exclusive broadcast partner, brings audiences a two-month celebration of the festival this June and July. "Our BBC iPlayer coverage provides over 90 hours of performances, with live streams of the five main stages, in addition to The Glastonbury Channel and over 90 sets to watch on demand throughout July. There is also extensive coverage on TV, radio and BBC Sounds - including over 30 performances and DJ sets that will be available to hear on demand on BBC Sounds throughout July."

Jade Thirwall celebrates five years with her Rizzle Kicks boyfriend Jordan Stephens as she shares loved-up tribute

Jade Thirlwall celebrated five years with Jordan Stephens by posting a heart-warming tribute to her partner on TikTok. The former Little Mix star, 32, and her Rizzle Kicks rapper boyfriend, 32, first sparked a romance after he asked a mutual friend to set them up back in 2019. Jade then took matters into her own hands, dropping Jordan a DM on Instagram asking for his 'pitch'. A few Zoom dates later the smitten couple were making their first public appearance together at a July 2020 Black Trans Lives Matter rally where they were pictured arm-in-arm. Five years on and the couple are still going strong - with Jade and Jordan appearing as loved-up as ever as she shared a gushing tribute to him on their anniversary. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. As their dog scurried past the camera, the video posted on TikTok showed a pyjama-clad Jade surprising her boyfriend in bed with a bunch of flowers and balloons to mark the special day. The post then cut to a compilation of Jade's favourite videos of Jordan, including smitten clips of the couple recording music, dancing and goofing around together. The spark seems very much still alive between the couple, who appeared completely smitten as they celebrated their milestone. A host of fans took to the comments section to congratulate their 'favourite couple' on five years together. They wrote: 'Happy anniversary to my favourite chaotic couple love you', 'I'm so happy for you both! It's been such a privilege to witness your relationship and love for each other! Thank you for giving us these glimpses into your life', 'This man is just a walking green flag I love that for you! He just gets it how humans are supposed to be', 'Couple goals. Fully supporting each other without the need to justify yourselves. Beautiful. A couple like no other.' While one amusingly commented: 'Oh man I feel so single.' Jade scored her first BRIT award as a solo artist earlier this year during the 2025 ceremony at the 02 arena. The former Little Mix singer couldn't wipe the smile off her face after beating the likes of Charli XCX to be crowned Best Pop Act at the ceremony in March. As her name was read out, the singer gasped in shock before excitedly making her way to the stage, where she amusingly struggled to climb the stairs onto the platform. Accepting the award, she gushed: 'Oh my God! This is my first solo BRIT Award! I can't cry because I've got to sing later, but I did do a little piece of paper in case I won the award. I know it's cringe but I knew I'd forget people. I'm flustered.' After the awards show, Jade and Jordan were pictured packing on the PDA as they shared a steamy kiss on the red carpet. A matter of weeks later Jordan - who said he 'enjoyed' meeting his now-girlfriend during lockdown - opened up about the dynamic of his relationship with Jade. Speaking on the We Need to Talk podcast with Paul Carrick, the 34-year-old said: 'My girlfriend earns more money than me. 'She's super successful and I f****** love it.' After being asked whether it's 'emasculating' have such a success girlfriend, he replied: 'It's reflected in the fact that I talk positively about Jade's career. They get shared loads. 'I've actually had a lot of personal texts from people who have been in situations where their partner, usually male partner has struggled with their success, or they felt emasculated by their success. 'Whereas for me, she's my superstar and I'm her superstar.'

Lorraine viewers fume 'she's appalling at interviewing!' as Kelly 'keeps interrupting' guest in 'more irritating than normal' chat

Lorraine viewers shared their frustration as they watched presenter Lorraine Kelly interview Jordan Stephens on Thursday's instalment of the ITV show. The 33 year old appeared on the programme to chat to the Scottish host about his new children's novel See For Yourself. Jordan - who is one half of hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks with Harley Alexander-Sule - released the book today (Thursday 22 May) after joining forces with illustrator Beth Suzanna. But while some were watching the show at home, they took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say the same thing - that Lorraine was interrupting her guest while he was speaking. One brutally said: 'She's more irritating than normal today; interrupting etc #Lorraine.' 'This woman is just APPALLING at interviewing! How on earth do her colleagues refer to her as a 'national treasure' I will never know. #lorraine @lorraine.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'Let him speak FFS!!!!' During the chat Lorraine confessed that she loves his second book and asked: 'It's about the ocean specifically isn't it?' Jordan explained: 'The idea came from, what we mentioned in the break, as a species I find we're fascinated with up and out. 'We've studied space, we have all these incredible discoveries outside of the earth. But appears as if we haven't been to the bottom of the ocean...' Lorraine said: 'Not as much. There is vast areas of the ocean that we don't actually know that much about... Finding new species all the time. Jordan replied: 'Right!' Lorraine continued: 'So your wee hero, he goes?' Jordan explains: 'Harry Arlo, it follows this boy who, he comes from a family of pilots, and he wants to be the first in his family to go down, rather than up, because he believes that is where the beauty lies. 'So he goes on a journey, on a mission. 'And also, this is just because I went snorkeling one time as well, a few year ago, and I could not believe what I was seeing under these. It blew my mind! 'There's probably thousands of kids books that explore the ocean because of how many incredible colours and shapes, the lower you go, the weirder it gets. I love it!' The singer went on to explained: 'The Missing Piece, our first book, we chose Sunny to be a black girl, we weren't bothered about the gender to be honest. 'The story was the story, well make Sunny a girl. 'When we were speaking to the libraries we were working with, that there weren't books about boys, well certainly black boys. not that it matters. 'We're in the world of children, that's the beauty of being a kid. It doesn't matter.' Conversation soon turned to his relationship with Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall, 32. The pair have been going strength to strength since May 2020. Lorraine said: 'It's a lovely relationship that you've got. And it just works, doesn't it? You know each other so well. You're from the same sort of, music, because music is a crazy world, right? Jordan said: 'Yes music is.' Lorraine added: 'She's got you doing music again hasn't she?' 'Jade was a big part in encouraging us to do more Rizzle Kicks. She genuinely loves our music. It's really sweet,' Jordan said. 'She's got her Rizzle Kicks merch. Bought the vinyl. She's on the album too.' Rizzle Kicks formed in 2008, but decided to go their separate ways in 2016. The pair reunited in 2024. Some of their best songs include Skip to the Good Bit, Mama Do The Hump, Lost Generation, When I Was A Youngster, Tell Her and Miss Cigarette.

British popstar hunts down his 'sextortion' blackmailer in shocking new show

Rizzle Kicks star Jordan Stephens is travelling to Nigeria to track down his 'sextortion' blackmailer in a new Channel 4 documentary. The popstar, 33, wants to confront the sex scammer 'face-to-face' for the hard-hitting show with the working title Hunting My Sextortion Scammer. For the purposes of the film, Jordan also gets himself 'sextorted', which is a form of online blackmail in which criminals threaten to release sexual images, videos, or personal information of victims unless they pay money or comply with other demands, according to the Metropolitan Police. It comes after the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), which finds and helps remove abuse imagery online, said in its annual data and insights report published in April that under-18s are now facing a crisis of sexual exploitation, including sextortion, online. Hunting My Sextortion Scammer is part of Channel 4's Untold documentary strand, which is back with a new season that includes an investigation into dating apps, fronted by Love Island star Chloe Burrows. The 29-year-old will investigate why young people are ditching the dating apps and ask whether the key to romantic connections is meeting in person. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Chloe will road test a variety of real-world dates and question experts on concerns about dating apps, from gamification to artificial intelligence. Also announced as part the documentary strand are The Secrets Of TikTok Shop (working title) and Confessions Of A Prison Officer about police corruption (working title), a follow-up to The Secrets Of UK Prisons. Janine Thomas, commissioning editor for Untold, said: 'Untold continues to be a fearless voice for young audiences, tackling taboo topics, lifting the lid on hidden subcultures, and giving voice to those who are often unheard. 'This season of ambitious and exciting documentaries promises to inform, provoke and spark vital conversation.' This year, Jordan also revived Rizzle Kicks with bandmate Harley Alexander-Sule after nine years away from recording. They parted ways in 2015 after personal battles including substance abuse, having had a string of hits from records Roaring 20s, which came out in 2013 and debut album Stereo Typical in 2011. Reflecting on their time away from Rizzle Kicks, Harley previously told Metro: 'During that time we just got really close; we were always close but we became much closer friends, I guess. It wasn't like a specific conversation or a moment when we decided to make a new album, we just, I think we were just enjoying each other's company and then ended up in the studio again together. 'We said to ourselves that if the vibes weren't there and the music wasn't great, we weren't gonna force it and try and push it. Fortunately, we noticed straight away something good was happening.' Outside of music and documentary work, Jordan has also pursued acting, with his credits including E4 drama series Glue, Mae Martin's Netflix sitcom Feel Good and Rose Matafeo's BBC romcom Starstruck. Earlier this year, he revealed he turned down an offer to appear in a Star Wars show after being asked to cut off his dreadlocks. In 2016 he played Corporal Stordan Tonc in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which starred Felicity Jones, Diego Luna and Ben Mendelsohn. Jordan has said he was asked to reprise his role in the series Andor, a prequel to Rogue One, but he rejected the offer after being asked to cut his dreadlocks off. More Trending He said on TikTok: 'A week before the shoot, they were like, 'Can we see what you look like?'. I sent them a picture and they were like, 'Can you cut off your dreadlocks?',' he recalled. 'This is what they asked me to do, for one scene. Obviously that's ridiculous. That's like six years of hair growth, I'm not cutting it off for one scene.' Jordan has also appeared on non-scripted shows such as Drink History, Let's Play Darts, Virtually Famous and Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls.
