Savannah Guthrie Wonders ‘What Are Veneers' When Asked Whether She Has a Set of Her Own
Even the most famous journalists can get stumped with a surprise question. While celebrating the launch of 's Joy 101 app in New York City last month, faced an unexpected inquiry from a Parade reporter curious to know if the Today show coanchor has veneers. "What is that, like, braces?" Guthrie, 53, replied. 'I did Invisalign. What are veneers?' Veneers are described as coverings that fit over the front surfaces of your teeth. They can help make one's teeth look bigger, straighter, brighter or remove any space in between teeth. Savannah Guthrie Talks 'Today' Legacy, Motherhood and Hoda Kotb's Exit When the reporter suggested that Guthrie would know if she had them, the NBC journalist agreed and clarified that she didn't have a set of her own. 'OK, I guess no. No, I don't have veneers,' she joked. 'I probably need them. Whatever they are. I gotta go, getting veneers.' These days, Guthrie has other priorities in her life besides those of the dental variety, including bringing the news to millions of Americans via Today and striving to be a good mom to daughter Vale, 10, and son Charley, 8. 'I try really hard to be not just a calm mom, but a joyful mom and a fun mom,' she exclusively told Us Weekly in May at Kotb's launch party. 'But I'm also a real mom, so that means at about 8 on a Sunday night, I'm like, 'Let's go.'' If Guthrie comes close to reaching a breaking point while parenting, she tries to use it as a reminder for her kids that everyone has different emotions at different times. 'They need to see that we're human too,' she explained of moms. 'I don't think that we're supposed to present to them a stoic figure that's not real life. I don't think that's sending them the lesson. I think they need to know that mom and dad, we're human too. We're doing our best, but let's cooperate and get along. I try to strike that balance.' Savannah Guthrie Woke Up Missing a Tooth After a 'Today' Christmas Party One thing that made Guthrie smile recently was having the opportunity to reunite with her friend in the morning. Last month, Kotb, 60, returned to the Today show to hang out with her TV family and give fans an update on her post-morning show life. 'She's our family. This is home for her,' Guthrie gushed to Us. 'It always will be home for her. It was just wonderful to have her there. But it's just exciting for our friends on the plaza to get to see her and everybody wants to know, how are you doing? All the things I've asked her over the last few months. We talk. We've had breakfast. We call. … Our viewers wanted to know that too.'

Hoda Kotb responds to rumors about replacing Kelly Clarkson on daytime TV
(NewsNation) — Hoda Kotb recently told one fan that she is a 'never-say-never person' when it comes to hosting a daytime talk show. During an episode of 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,' the 60-year-old former anchor of The Today Show was asked about Kelly Clarkson's talk show. 'I heard the rumors that you might be starting a daytime talk show. Is that something you would ever consider doing?' Tom Felton joins 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' on Broadway Kotb responded with, 'Are you talking about the Kelly Clarkson rumor?' She then said Clarkson is a 'class all by herself,' but she would never say never when it comes to a talk show. 'You don't know what life's gonna bring you. But, at this moment, I'm having such fun with the ride that I'm on,' she continued. On May 28, Kotb went on the Today Show to talk about her wellness venture called Joy 101. While there, her replacement, Craig Melvin, asked about the Clarkson rumors. She responded to the question, saying, 'Do y'all think — I want to ask y'all a real question — do you think if I ever came back to TV, do you know where the only place I would ever come back to is? Right here. This is the spot… Delete, not true.' Kotb left her position at the Today Show in January after being on the show for 17 years. She told PEOPLE that it was because her six-year-old daughter Hope was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2023. Clarkson had missed 10 tapings in a row of her show in March, and fans were baffled at the time. There were even reports circulating that she wanted to quit her daytime talk show. Fans were even more confused when she cited 'personal reasons' for being absent. A source at the time told NewsNation's Paula Froelich that Clarkson was out because her ex-husband was sick. 'Her ex-husband is sick and she took the kids to see him,' the source said. Brandon Blackstock was a music manager until recently, when he stopped working for the company his father founded, Starstruck Entertainment. The former couple has a 10-year-old daughter, River Rose, and a 9-year-old son, Remington Alexander, together. Clarkson filed for divorce on June 4, 2020, with the two-year custody and spousal support battle ending in 2022. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Hoda Kotb reveals who she wants to replace her on 'Today' fourth hour
Hoda Kotb reveals who she wants to replace her on 'Today' fourth hour Show Caption Hide Caption Watch Hoda Kotb's 'Today' announcement, Jenna Bush Hager's response Hoda Kotb revealed that she's leaving the "Today" show in early 2025. Later in the morning, Jenna Bush Hager reacted on set. Hoda Kotb is revealing who she thinks should replace her on the fourth hour of the "Today" show. The former "Hoda and Jenna" cohost left the NBC morning franchise's main anchor desk and fourth hour in January to launch new wellness venture Joy 101, but she still has opinions to offer about who should sit next to Jenna Bush Hager. Kotb told "Watch What Happens Live" host Andy Cohen that "anybody would be so lucky, but to me, the contenders are Savannah, I think she would be great; I think Justin Sylvester is amazing" in reference to the E! News host and frequent "Today" fourth hour guest. Hoda Kotb returns to host 'Today' with Jenna Bush Hager: What to know "Scarlett Johansson crushed it, she said it was her favorite job," Kotb added, although she and Cohen agreed that the Oscar winner is unlikely to join the show full-time. The mom of two continued by saying that "Las Culturistas" comedian "Matt Rogers is great" and "also our dear friend Sheinelle Jones, who is going through a horrible time, but I think she would be good." However, Kotb insisted that "I feel like it's whoever clicks great with Jenna." The NBC morning show's loyal fans have floated Jones as a replacement, but the third hour star has been absent for months during the health battle of her late husband, Uche Ojeh. On May 23, "Today" show anchors announced on air that Ojeh died from an aggressive form of brain cancer at 45. "With profound sadness, we share this morning that Uche Ojeh, the husband of our friend and 'Today' co-host Sheinelle Jones, has passed away after a courageous battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma," Savannah Guthrie said on the "Today" show.

How Sheinelle Jones Is Coping After Husband Uche Ojeh's Death: What ‘Today' Cohosts Have Said
The hosts of Today have offered some insight into how Sheinelle Jones has been coping with the death of her husband, Uche Ojeh. On May 23, Savannah Guthrie announced on the NBC morning show that Ojeh died at age 45 after a private battle with the brain cancer glioblastoma. 'There are no words for the pain that we feel for Sheinelle and their three young children,' she said. 'Uche was an incredible person. We all loved him.' Jones — who has been absent from Today since December 2024 to deal with her husband's health — met Ojeh in the '90s during their time at Northwestern University. They tied the knot in 2008 and went on to welcome three kids: son Kayin, 15, and twins Clara and Uche, 12. 'We just want to say Sheinelle, Kayin, little Uche and Clara, the Ojeh family, we are with you,' Guthrie added. 'We love you. You are our family, and we are just sending all of our love to you right now.' Celebs and Journalists Rally Around Today's Sheinelle Jones After Death of Husband Uche Ojeh Jones broke her silence on Ojeh's death via Instagram that same day, writing, 'Thank you, for all of your love and support.' A source later told Us Weekly that 'there is no timing on when she will be back' on Today, adding that Jones is 'focusing on her family' at this time. Several Today hosts supported Jones at Ojeh's funeral on May 30, including , Al Roker, Craig Melvin and Hoda Kotb. Scroll down to see what the Today hosts have said about how Jones is dealing with her husband's death: 'Sheinelle has been such a warrior, and she has stepped up and shown what love is and what love does for her husband,' Guthrie said while discussing Ojeh's death on the May 23 episode of Today With Jenna & Friends. 'And it has been a marvel to witness.' While chatting with Guthrie on Jenna & Friends, Bush Hager noted that Jones embodied her '[in] sickness and [in] health' wedding vows before and after Ojeh's health battle. 'And she's — as we've talked to her over the last couple months — been this pillar [not only] for her husband but for her family, for those kids,' she praised. 'And one of the things that I always was sort of amazed by was that she did it with such grace and with humor.' 'We tend to say, 'Oh, I know what you're going through. I know what you're feeling.' Nobody knows unless you've actually been in that,' Roker exclusively told Us at Kotb's Joy 101 launch event on May 28. 'So, we're there. We just want to be there and pay tribute to the wonderful person that Uche was and still will be because he's going to live on in those kids and live in all our memories.' As the Today hosts paid tribute to Ojeh on May 23, Dreyer noted that Sheinelle was 'always smiling' during her family's difficult time. 'She's just a bright light whenever she walks into a room, even through this. She relied on her faith, she relied on her friends,' the third hour of Today cohost added. While exclusively chatting with Us at Kotb's Joy 101 launch, Dreyer praised Jones for being a 'close friend.' She added, 'I've reached out. I don't want to push too hard. There's just a lot of things that she must be juggling right now. I mean, I don't know the right words besides, 'I'm here. Whenever you need a hug, let me know. I'll be there in a second.' And, I mean, I pray for her every night.' 'What has been remarkable, also, is watching the way with which she has dealt with this, dealing with a husband who's battling cancer and three young children that she's had [take care of] by herself for a while now,' Melvin said on the May 23 episode of Today. 'And every time you would talk to her, she would still find a way to laugh about something.'
