Nominations open for News & Star's 'Best Pub 2025' award
NOMINATIONS are now open for the 'Best Pub 2025' award. In a bid to celebrate pubs in North and West Cumbria, the News & Star has launched its new competition which will crown the area's 'Best Pub 2025'. Whether it's the perfect pint, unbeatable atmosphere or legendary Sunday roast, we want to hear from you. As part of the competition, News & Star readers can now nominate their go-to drinking spots from North and West Cumbria via an online voting platform. NOMINATE YOUR FAVOURITE PUB HERE. Online nominations will run until Sunday, July 13, with the ten finalists being revealed on Monday, July 14. Readers will then be able to vote for the county's 'Best Pub 2025' by picking up editions of the News & Star between Monday, July 21, and Saturday, August 2. The ultimate local legend is set to be announced on Monday, August 11. Joy Yates, regional editor for Newsquest Cumbria, asked readers to support their favourite. Joy said: 'Pubs are hubs of activity. We love a visit for many reasons, to relax or meet friends and family, for lovely food or just a quick drink after work. Most of us have a favourite local or a pub we go to for entertainment. 'We are now asking our readers to tell us about their favourite bar and nominate them for an opportunity of recognition in our Best Pub promotion. Last chance to nominate Cumbria's 'Best Barber 2025'
IT'S your last chance to nominate your go-to shop for the 's 'Best Barber 2025' award. Online nominations for the award will close at midnight on Sunday, June 15 and ahead of this deadline, Cumbrians are urged to get behind their favourite. Following this stage of online nominations, News & Star readers will then be able to vote for their 'Best Barber 2025' by picking up editions of the News & Star between Monday, June 23, and Saturday, July 5. The ultimate champion of the chair is set to be announced on Monday, July 14. PEOPLE are urged to nominate their favourite place for a chippy tea in the News & Star's 'Best Chippy 2025' awards. Online nominations will close on Sunday, May 25 with the ten finalists being revealed on Tuesday, May 27. Cumbrians are being asked to get behind their favourite. It could be newcomers to the scene or shops that have been serving up tasty golden fish and fluffy chips for decades. Following this, readers will then be able to vote for the county's 'Best Chippy 2025' by picking up editions of the News & Star between Monday, June 2, and Saturday, June 14 with the winner set to be announced on Monday, June 23.
