State Secretary pays respects to late Juma'ani at Semariang Cemetery
Abu Bakar (third left) and the heads of departments perform the Yassin and Tahlil recitations. – Ukas photo KUCHING (June 24): Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and his wife Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang visited the grave of the late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma'ani Tun Tuanku Bujang at the at the Tanah Perkuburan Islam Semariang today. According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report, Abu Bakar, his wife, and several Muslim department heads performed Yassin and Tahlil recitations at the grave of the late wife of the Sarawak Premier. Speaking on behalf of the Sarawak Civil Service, Abu Bakar expressed his deepest condolences to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his family. 'During her lifetime, she often reminded us of the importance of caring for our welfare and health, and of working together as one family. 'May her soul be blessed and placed among the righteous,' he said as cited by Ukas. Meanwhile, Baduyah also expressed her sorrow over the passing of Juma'ani, describing it as a great loss to the Government Servants Welfare and Sports Council (Maksak) Women. She said that as the patron, the late Juma'ani was a source of inspiration for Maksak Women Sarawak and consistently supported all their activities. 'On behalf of Maksak Women, I extend our deepest condolences and pray that her soul be blessed and placed among the righteous,' she added. The late Juma'ani breathed her last at Normah Medical Centre at 3.34 am on Monday at the age of 76. On behalf of the Sabah Government, Hajiji also prayed that the soul of the late Juma'ani be showered with blessings and placed among the righteous. 'With deep sympathy and sorrow, on behalf of the State Government, I express my condolences to the Premier of Sarawak and his family on the passing of his beloved wife, the late Puan Sri Juma'ani Tuanku Bujang. 'May Allah S.W.T. shower His mercy upon her soul and place her among the righteous,' he said in a statement Monday. PKR Sarawak extends condolences over passing of Sarawak Premier's wife
Roland Engan MIRI (June 23): Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak extended its deepest condolences to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his family following the passing of his beloved wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma'ani Tuanku Bujang. In a statement today, PKR Sarawak chairman Roland Engan described the late Juma'ani as a devoted wife and loyal confidante who stood by the premier throughout his political journey. 'She was everything to him — a wife, friend and source of strength behind his leadership. Her quiet but firm presence over the years was admired by many,' he said. Roland said PKR leaders and supporters across the state join all Sarawakians in mourning her passing. 'We share the sorrow of the Premier and the people of Sarawak. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may the Premier and his family find strength in this difficult time,' he said. He said several party leaders who attended the State Gawai Dinner at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching on Sunday night saw the premier leave the event abruptly due to what appeared to be an urgent matter. 'Only later did we learn of her passing — it was truly a heartbreaking moment for all of us,' he said. Juma'ani, 76, passed away at a private medical centre in Kuching at 3.34am today. She was the daughter of Sarawak's second Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Tuanku Bujang Tuanku Othman.

Sarawak Premier's wife, Juma'ani, buried in Petra Jaya cemetery
KUCHING, June 23 — The remains of Puan Sri Juma'ani Tuanku Bujang, wife of Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, were laid to rest at the Semariang Muslim Cemetery in Petra Jaya at 1.52pm today. Earlier, the funeral prayer was performed at Masjid Jamek Negeri, led by Sarawak Grand Imam Datuk Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi, and attended by family members, federal and state leaders, as well as members of the public. Following the prayer, Juma'ani's remains were taken to the cemetery for burial. Abang Johari, their two children, Abang Abdillah Izzarim and Dayang Norjihan, as well as grandchildren and other family members, were present throughout the ceremony. Among those who paid their last respects at the mosque were Sarawak Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, all three Deputy Premiers - Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas - and several state assemblymen. Juma'ani, 76, breathed her last at a private medical centre at 3.34am today. She was the daughter of Sarawak's second Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Tuanku Bujang Tuanku Othman. Late Juma'ani Remembered For Her Loving And Gentle Nature
KUCHING, June 23 (Bernama) -- The late Puan Sri Juma'ani Tuanku Bujang, wife of Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, was fondly remembered for her loving heart and gentle demeanour. Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Sarawak (SABATI) deputy president Datuk Doreen Mayang said that during her time working alongside Juma'ani, who served as SABATI president, she witnessed her unwavering dedication and compassion for charitable work. 'She always offered us guidance in fulfilling our roles as the wives of elected representatives. 'She was also passionate about traditional crafts such as keringkam and songket, and contributed greatly to promoting them to the wider public,' she told reporters after paying her last respects at Masjid Jamek Negeri Sarawak here today. Meanwhile, Sarawak Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah described Juma'ani as an exemplary wife — gentle in demeanour yet steadfast in conveying guidance and counsel. 'This loss is deeply felt by everyone in the ministry, as she was actively involved in supporting programmes for women, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities (PWDs), and regularly attended the state-level Women's Day celebrations. 'We will miss her presence and personal touch at every event. We pray that her soul will be placed among the righteous and the pious,' she said.
