Soul Spots Helps K-Drama Lovers Locate Favorite Filming Sites In Seoul
Gwangtonggyo Bridge over Cheonggyecheon Stream is featured in the drama 'Marry My Husband.' As a city that's the backdrop for so many popular Korean dramas, Seoul recently designated 30 key filming locations as Soul Spots. The name Soul Spot suggests places infused with the spirit of the characters in popular k-dramas. Each location is marked with a plaque and related stories to help visitors connect with the works filmed there. Here are some of the city's Soul Spots and the dramas they highlight.. Crash Course in Romance 'Crash Course in Romance' stars Jeon Do-yeon and Jung Kyung-ho. Crash Course in Romance is the unlikely love story between a star cram school instructor and the owner of a side-dish shop. It features a variety of everyday locations in Seoul, including schools and private academies in Gangnam — the area most synonymous with Korea's fervent education culture — to add a sense of realism. Garak Market, a designated Soul Spot and the largest agricultural and seafood market in Gangnam, serves as the backdrop for a romantic scene where the two main characters enjoy a date while selecting fresh produce. Seokchan Lake Seokchon Lake, a large lake nestled in the heart of the city, is a beloved walking spot known for its stunning scenery year-round. In Crash Course in Romance the lake serves as the backdrop for a scene where the main character, navigating the pressures of the competitive private education world, goes for a morning jog to clear his mind. As a popular waterfront filming location in Seoul, Seokchon Lake is also featured in dramas such as Family: The Unbreakable Bond and Love Alarm. In spring, it's one of Seoul's most popular spots to check out cherry blossoms. Seokcheon Lake is a favorite location in cherry blossom season. Marry My Husband Park Min-young stars in the Korean drama 'Marry My Husband.' Marry My Husband is a time-travel drama where the heroine dies after being betrayed by her husband and best friend, then returns to the past to take revenge. The show became a global hit - ranking No. 1 in Amazon Prime Video's global TV show category, a first for a Korean drama. Various urban locations in Seoul served as filming backdrops, including Cheonggyecheon Stream (a designated Soul Spot), Gwanghwamun Gate, Myeong-dong, Yeouido, and Gangnam. Nodeul Island Located in the middle of the Han River, Nodeul Island offers a mix of cultural facilities, green spaces, and sweeping views. Its beautiful sunset scenery makes it a popular destination for couples and families. In Marry My Husband, the island serves as the backdrop for a scene where the heroine goes on a date with her boyfriend and opens up about her changed life. Among the numerous Han River parks, Nodeul Island is one of the most frequently used filming sites, having appeared in titles like Bong Joon-ho's film The Host, the film Kill Boksoon, and the dramas The Judge from Hell, Cinderella at 2 AM, Good Partner, Castaway Diva and My Demon. Nodeul Island has been featured in several dramas, including 'Marry My Husband.' Lovely Runner Kim Hye-yoon and Byron Woo-seok star in 'Lovely Runner.' Lovely Runner is a time-travel romance drama in which a woman is devastated by the sudden death of her favorite idol. In an effort to save him, she travels 15 years into the past. The drama ranked No. 1 in 130 countries after its release on Rakuten Viki. It also topped the charts on major platforms such as U-NEXT, iQIYI, and Viu, showcasing the power of Korean romance dramas. The drama, starring Kim Hye-yoon and Byeon Woo-seok, is set against a striking backdrop of Seoul locations such as Dongdaemun Design Plaza and Hongdae to nostalgic settings like Insadong and Choongang High School. Seongbukcheon Stream Seongbukcheon Stream is a small stream nestled between residential neighborhoods in northern Seoul, offering a quiet, natural retreat. With its flowing water, trees, and graceful bridges, the area is especially popular in spring when the cherry blossom trees lining the stream burst into full bloom. In Lovely Runner it serves as the setting for a pivotal scene where the female lead picks up a watch by the stream, presses a button, and travels back in time, marking the moment she begins to understand the rules of time travel. Seongbukcheon Spring plays a prominent role in 'Lovely Runner.' Bokjeong Well Another key ocation is Bokjeong Well. Hidden within the alleys of Bukchon Hanok Village, Bokjeong Well is no longer in use today, but it is said that its water was once so pure it was used in the royal court during the Joseon Dynasty era. Surrounded by stone walls, hanok (traditional Korean houses), and timeworn alleys, the well is a popular filming location for many dramas. In Lovely Runner, it appears in a scene where the female lead, disguised as a monk, warns her love interest in an attempt to change his fate. The well has also been featured in various other productions, including Hotel Del Luna, My Man Is Cupid, and Forecasting Love and Weather, serving as a setting that deepens the sense of time. Who is Seol In-ah, rising star from K-dramas Oh My Ghost Clients and Business Proposal?
Seol In-ah is a decade-long veteran of the screen who has steadily been raising her profile in the K-drama industry. She returns to screens in Oh My Ghost Clients , a legal comedy-drama with a fantasy twist, playing the office manager of the struggling practice of Jung Kyung-ho's labour rights lawyer, who begins offering his services to supernatural clients. Born as Bang Ye-rin in Suwon, a satellite city south of Seoul in Gyeonggi province, Seol always wanted to be an actress and was told as a teenager that becoming an idol trainee would help her kick-start her screen career. So, in middle school, she became a K-pop trainee alongside future music luminaries including Heo Young-ji, who would go on to join Kara After close to four years, Seol left the academy to focus on acting. K-drama Oh My Ghost Clients: Jung Kyung-ho defends the dead in socially aware legal comedy

After playing a celebrated surgeon ( Hospital Playlist ) and a star private academy instructor ( Crash Course in Romance ), Jung Kyung-ho returns to the small screen as a lawyer, but not the kind that occupies the corner office of a penthouse law firm. In Oh My Ghost Clients, Jung plays Roh Moo-jin, a labour rights lawyer struggling with his own labour woes – he needs money for rent. But, as the title implies, help will soon come from the most unexpected of places. Play Moo-jin believes he has hit the big time when his friend, played in a cameo by Jung's Hospital Playlist co-star Kim Dae-myung, gets him to quit his job and invest big in cryptocurrency.

Jung Kyung-Ho Represents The Wrongly Departed In ‘Oh My Ghost Clients'
Agreeing to represent ghosts ensures that Jung Kyung-ho's character will have a lot of clients. Things are not going well for Mu-jin, the character played by Jung Kyung-ho in Oh My Ghost Clients. In the very first episode of this Korean drama, Mu-jin, quits his job, loses his money, alienates his wife and almost dies. Almost. He's saved at the last minute by an angelic being who needs help sorting out troubled spirits. Mu-jin is a labor lawyer, so he's just the right person to help troubled spirits who die with unresolved issues, especially if those issues pertain to their workplace. Mu-jin has no choice but to sign on to represent these spirits, even if he never considered working pro bono. Jung (Crash Course In Romance, Hospital Playlist, Resident Playbook) is comical as the ego-centric Mu-jin, a man who rarely considers the needs of others. Although bad things do happen to him, they are often caused by his own careless and impulsive nature. After losing all his money he becomes a labor attorney and opens an office, but it's not the financial success he hoped for. Mu-jin gets some office help from his sister-in-law Hee-joo, played by Seol In-A (Business Proposal, Celebrity, Twinkling Watermelon). Hee-joo may have some helpful ideas but some of her schemes aren't completely legal. However, Mu-jin is desperate to make some money. So, they team up with vlogger Gyeon-woo, played by Cha Hak-yeon (Castaway Diva, Tomorrow, Bad and Crazy) to scam factory bosses who ignore workplace safety measures. Mu-jin needs to make money but ghostly clients are rarely lucrative. These clients no longer have access to a bank account. Oh My Ghost Clients is paranormal spin on the classic tale of a self-absorbed man forced to confront what's important in life. Mu-jin is egotistical, but he's also amusingly clueless, so perhaps he does deserve another chance. Representing ghosts may be just what he needs to realign his values. Kyung Soo-jin (Shadow Detective, Mouse, Hush) plays Mu-jin's ex-wife Mi-joo. The drama also stars Jeon Guk-hyang, Choi Hang-il and Yoo Seon-ho. Oh My Ghost Clients is directed by Yim Soon-rye, who directed several films, including The Point Men, Little Forest and The Whistleblower. The screenplay was written by Kim Bo-tong, who wrote D.P. and D.P. 2, and Yoo Seung-hee, who wrote the screenplay for the 2025 film Secret: Untold Melody. In the U.S. the drama airs on

MBC is bringing a unique blend of fantasy, law, and dark comedy to the small screen with its new drama Oh My Ghost Clients. The drama stars Jung Kyung Ho as a morally ambiguous lawyer. Joining him are Seol In Ah, who plays his determined sister-in-law, and Cha Hak Yeon, a YouTuber who gets caught in the supernatural chaos. It is set in a world where the dead are not only lingering, they're also demanding justice. This 10-part series explores the afterlife through the lens of labor disputes and ethical redemption. When and where to watch The series is scheduled to premiere on May 30, 2025. Episodes will air every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM KST on MBC. Moreover, international audiences will be able to stream the show on Viki and Viu. Storyline Jung Kyung Ho plays No Mu Jin, a labor attorney with a cold heart and a bank account-first mindset. He's never cared much for justice, until he narrowly escapes death. Following this brush with mortality, Mu Jin discovers that he can see ghosts. Specifically, he can see the spirits of workers who died in workplace accidents and whose deaths were never properly addressed or compensated. His partner in ghost litigation is Na Hee Joo, played by Seol In Ah. She is both his sister-in-law and a sharp-witted woman determined to bring justice to the underdogs. Completing the team is Go Kyun Woo (Cha Hak Yeon). He is a quirky YouTuber and aspiring content creator who stumbles into Mu Jin's ghost-filled life. Initially there for clicks and content, Kyun Woo ends up becoming an unexpected ally in their quest to help wandering souls find peace through labor law. Together, this unlikely trio becomes 'Team Moojins,' tackling cases of corporate neglect, unethical labor practices, and tragic workplace deaths.
