Ankit Gupta Turns Vegetarian After Health Scare, Says Bigg Boss Wasn't His Choice
Last Updated: TV actor Ankit Gupta revealed turning vegetarian after a gastric and panic attack. During a vlog with Farah Khan, he explained the reason behind it. TV actor Ankit Gupta, who rose to fame with shows like Udaariyaan and Junooniyatt, and gained popularity through Bigg Boss 16, has revealed how a serious health scare led him to turn vegetarian. The actor opened up about this lifestyle shift during a candid chat with Farah Khan, who recently visited him for her YouTube vlog. In the video, Farah had planned to cook her signature Tawa Chicken, only to find out that Ankit had changed his diet. Taken aback, she asked him about it, to which the actor responded, 'I've turned vegetarian, but will eat chicken since you're making it." Ankit clarified that the decision wasn't rooted in religion but stemmed from a medical emergency. 'I didn't turn vegetarian for any religious reasons. I had a gastric and panic attack for which I was hospitalised," he shared. 'You feel breathlessness, BP shoots up and you just feel you cannot breathe." Since then, he has been consciously monitoring his diet and overall health. 'I am on a programme and show what I am eating throughout the day. I also show what I am drinking," he added, explaining how the incident forced him to be more mindful about his routine. Beyond food and fitness, the actor also reflected on his unexpected entry into Bigg Boss. According to Ankit, the decision wasn't entirely his. 'I didn't choose to be on Bigg Boss. I was sent to the show," he revealed. At the time, he was wrapping up Udaariyaan, and the producers had promised him another show, Junooniyatt, which needed a few months to go on floors. With limited options in hand, the actor was told about three ongoing projects. 'Khatron Ke Khiladi had already started, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa was on but not meant for me, and the last option was Bigg Boss," he said. What followed was a long stretch of discussions and negotiations. 'Three to four weeks went into just discussions." From surviving inside the Bigg Boss house to navigating real-life health scares, Ankit's journey is a reminder of how unexpected turns, whether in career or health, can push one to realign priorities and adapt for the better. While he hasn't announced his next acting project just yet, fans are eager to see what the actor does next. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Ankit Gupta Is Single After Breakup With Priyanka Chahar Choudhary: 'Ready To Mingle'
Ankit Gupta and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary worked together in the show Udaariyaan and then also participated in Bigg Boss 16. Farah Khan has finally revealed that Ankit Gupta is single after his alleged breakup with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary. Recently, the filmmaker paid a visit to the actor's house for her YouTube channel when she was repeatedly seen teasing Ankit for having a 'bachelor pad". Farah further quipped and said, 'He is single and ready to mingle." However, when asked if he was with anyone when he entered Bigg Boss, Ankit Gupta clarified, 'I was alone. I am very clear. If I am alone, I say I am alone but if I am not alone, I wouldn't say I am alone." 'I didn't choose to be on Bigg Boss. I was sent to the show. I was doing Udaariyaan and Sargun (the producer) said they were wrapping it up but had another show for me titled Junooniyatt. That would take 3-4 months to begin. They showed me the contract and I only just knew the name of the show," the actor added, while talking about his Bigg Boss journey. Interestingly, this comes months after Ankit Gupta's alleged breakup with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary made headlines. The two worked together in the show Udaariyaan and then also participated in Bigg Boss 16. Even though they never confirmed their relationship, they were rumoured to be dating each other and reportedly broke up earlier this year. Reacting to his alleged breakup with Priyanka, Ankit previously told Bombay Times, 'Whatever it is, it has always been between two people. It is between two people, and it always will be. We cannot allow, nor do we allow, any third person to get into our… whatever it (equation) is." When asked how he is dealing with the chatter and scrutiny around his private life, he added, 'I don't really give it a thought. Because one thing I know for sure is that I am a public figure and people would always want to know about my life and a certain part of my life I would not be able to hide. No matter what." Saniya Khera embraces bold transformation
Actress Saniya Khera, known for her versatile performances in shows like 'Junooniyatt', 'Tose Naina Milaike', 'Mann Atisundar', 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh' and 'Maddam Sir', is currently making waves with her bold and layered portrayal of Aishwarya—popularly dubbed as 'Fake Leela'—in Dangal TV's Prem Leela. Saniya recently opened up about her artistic journey, the intricacies of her character, and how this project has shaped her as an actor. ''In Prem Leela', I portray Aishwarya, or as the viewers know her, 'Fake Leela',' Saniya shares. 'She can be manipulative, yes—but she's passionate about what she does. She genuinely believes that her actions are justified. What drew me to this role is how multi-dimensional she is. It's not just black and white—there are layers, and that's what makes it exciting for me as an actor. The real challenge is to make the audience empathise with her, even when they disagree with her.' Taking on a role with such emotional and psychological depth wasn't an easy transition, especially for an actress largely seen in positive or neutral roles until now. 'This was a complete shift,' she admits. 'I had to dive deep mentally and emotionally to get into Aishwarya's mindset. I kept asking myself—what drives her? What are her fears, her dreams, her scars? Once I understood her motivations, I could portray her with more truth and sensitivity.' In addition to internal preparation, Saniya had to embody the character physically as well. 'I had to consciously alter my body language. The way she walks, the tone she uses, the way she holds her gaze—it all had to exude a certain sharpness and intention. I was aware that the audience might be surprised to see me like this, but that's what I loved about it. If they end up disliking the character, I take that as a sign that I'm doing something right!' Behind the scenes, however, it's a completely different story. 'Despite playing a negative role, I've felt only warmth and encouragement on set,' she says with a smile. Saniya says, 'There's such a great vibe among the cast and crew. On-screen, we may be at odds, but off-screen there's constant laughter, creative exchange, and camaraderie. That kind of environment really helps you thrive and stay grounded.' Saniya is also quick to credit the production design for helping her fully immerse into the character. She says, 'The costumes, the set design, the lighting—everything is so detailed and atmospheric. Walking into Leela's world every day felt like entering another universe. And that's what makes acting magical—you get to live someone else's life, even if just for a while.' Looking back at her journey so far, Saniya reflects on how each role has helped shape her both professionally and personally. 'Every character I've played has left an impression on me,' she says thoughtfully. 'Whether the role is light-hearted, dark, intense, or somewhere in between—it always teaches me something new. It pushes me to discover aspects of human emotion and behaviour that I might not have otherwise explored.' Saniya says, 'As an actor, my goal is to constantly evolve—to take on roles that challenge me, surprise the audience, and connect with people on a deeper level. Prem Leela is definitely one of those projects that's pushed my boundaries, and I'm grateful for that. It's another step forward on this journey of transformation and storytelling.'
