'Welcome Kerkez': Liverpool fans excited for £45m transfer as Bournemouth confirm new signing
Milos Kerkez has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool (Getty Images) Liverpool fans have been given further cause for excitement over a potential summer deal for Milos Kerkez. Just last week, Justin Kluivert was quizzed about the future of his Bournemouth teammate amid links to the Premier League champions. Advertisement Speaking to VoetbalPrimeur following a huge win for the Netherlands against Malta, the forward was expecting Kerkez's transfer to be completed sooner rather than later. Kluivert said "He'll probably go there. I hope so for him. "He hasn't really said goodbye yet, but I hope he'll make it happen there." It has been widely reported that discussions between Liverpool and Bournemouth for the left-back have taken over a possible deal worth £45m. Interestingly, the Cherries appear to have opened the door for Kerkez to leave having signed a like-for-like replacement in Adrien Truffert from Ligue 1 outfit Rennes. Advertisement A statement reads: 'AFC Bournemouth is delighted to announce the signing of French left-back Adrien Truffert from Rennes. 'The Belgian-born defender joins the Cherries on a five-year deal from the Ligue 1 outfit.' That said, judging by the reaction on social media, this announcement has generated more excitement among the Liverpool fanbase as many are expecting news on Kerkez very soon...

Big changes are ahead for incoming Liverpool new boy Milos Kerkez in the coming months – but the most significant might be the loss of his VIP barber. Wirtz Move to Anfield Opens Door for Bournemouth Star's Return to Bundesliga
Liverpool Move for Wirtz Signals Bold New Era at Anfield Wirtz Deal Sends Shockwaves Through Europe Mail Sport have reported that 'the Reds have struck an agreement for Wirtz that could rise to an English record £116million including bonuses, such as winning the Premier League and Champions League.' It is a statement of intent from Arne Slot's Liverpool, confirming the club's determination to reassert their dominance both domestically and in Europe. Advertisement This monumental move not only reaffirms FSG's willingness to back their new manager but also shifts the narrative surrounding Liverpool's post-Klopp identity. With Wirtz set to become 'the third-most expensive signing in football history,' it's clear this is more than a marquee signing — it's a defining moment. Photo IMAGO Kluivert Emerges as Replacement at Leverkusen Bayer Leverkusen have wasted no time responding. According to the Mail, they have made enquiries about Bournemouth forward Justin Kluivert following Wirtz's departure. The Dutchman, once seen as a future superstar, has finally found form, registering '18 goal contributions in 34 Premier League games across the 2024-25 season.' Kluivert's European Odyssey From Ajax to Roma, Leipzig, Nice and Valencia, Kluivert's path has been one of reinvention. His stint under Erik ten Hag, 'Manchester United manager's first six months with the Eredivisie side,' adds a fascinating layer to his footballing education. Now 26, he appears ready to step into Wirtz's vacated shoes. Slot, who replaced Jurgen Klopp in May 2024, will be eager to embed a player whose technical intelligence and flair seem tailor-made for Liverpool's next chapter. Our View – EPL Index Analysis If this deal goes through, it is impossible not to be absolutely buzzing. Wirtz is a generational talent, and to see Liverpool moving for someone who could cost £116 million shows we're finally shopping at the top table again. Under Klopp, we thrived with clever buys. Now under Slot, we're adding elite firepower. Advertisement The lad has everything — creativity, end product, swagger — and he's only 22. Imagine him combining with Szoboszlai and Mac Allister behind Darwin or Jota. That's frightening. And with Salah likely entering his last year, bringing in Wirtz feels like a passing of the torch moment. There's risk, of course. £116 million is eye-watering. But this is the kind of calculated risk you take if you want to beat Manchester City, not just compete with them. We needed a new era. Slot and Wirtz together might just be the spark. As for Kluivert going to Leverkusen? Good move for them, but we've done the right business here. We've gone and got the better player, and crucially, we've got him early.

Bayer Leverkusen linked with attackers Johan Bakayoko and Justin Kluivert
Holland's Voetbal International and England's Talk Sport both have fresh news to report regarding Bayer Leverkusen transfer rumors. The 2023/24 Bundesliga champions are being linked with Johan Bakayoko and Justin Kluivert as part of their sorely needed summer restock in attack. Bakayoko could serve as a direct replacement for Jeremie Frimpong while Kluivert – in his new role as a ten – could help die Werkself absorb the loss of Florian Wirtz. Bakayoko enters the final year of his contract with PSV Eindhoven. The Eredivisie champions reportedly seek a €20m transfer fee for the 22-year-old. This could constitute something of a steal as the 18-times-capped international currently maintains a €30m estimated market value, down from a peak of €45m in May 2024. Bakayoko still scored 12 goals and registered three assists last season. Advertisement The Kluivert links prove interesting as the son of Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert does have some Bundesliga experience. The current Bournemouth man spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan with the German Red Bulls from AS Roma. Kluivert scored four goals in 27 appearances across all competitions for Julian Nagelsmann's RB that season. Memorably, he netted what would prove the match-winner in a Champions League encounter against Manchester United. Kluivert could potentially fancy a return to German football and a possible reunion with former Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag. The Talk Sport report nevertheless makes it clear that Kluivert's Premier League club aren't interested in selling him. Kluivert has more than tripled his estimated market value since moving to England ahead of the 2023/24 season. In the last six months alone, the seven-times-capped international has pumped up his value from €22m to €35m. GGFN | Peter Weis
