If you're travelling across East Delhi this week, expect major traffic diversions. The Delhi Traffic Police has closed several key roads till 8 AM on July 23 to make way for the final surge of Kanwariya pilgrims heading to their a detailed advisory, the police said the left carriageway of GT Road from Keshav Chowk roundabout to Yudhishthir Setu (ISBT) will remain shut to all vehicles for 48 hours, from July 21 morning to July 23. The move is aimed at ensuring smooth passage for devotees walking with kanwars during the last leg of the ROUTES ARE CLOSED IN DELHI FOR KANWAR YATRA?Several major routes in East and North-East Delhi are now out of bounds for vehicles. These include:GT Road (Apsara Border to Shahdara)Seemapuri to Apsara BorderAnand Vihar to Apsara BorderGT Road to Vivek Vihar UnderpassSwami Dayanand Marg to Keshav Chowk (towards GT Road)Pusta Road to Shastri ParkAll these stretches will remain closed till 8 AM on July 23. To ensure their safety, the Delhi Police restricts vehicular movement along the major walking paths, particularly as the yatra nears its their advisory, Delhi Traffic Police said, 'Follow traffic diversions and cooperate with authorities during the Kanwar Yatra. Your support ensures the safety of both Kanwariyas and commuters.'WHAT SHOULD COMMUTERS DO?If you're heading to or from areas like Shahdara, Seemapuri, Anand Vihar, or ISBT, plan your journey in advance.
