Your answers: How do you manage your money to get the most out of it?
We asked, you answered Every month, we take a deep dive into a topic that's making headlines in a series called KN Explains. Have you noticed an increase in the price of your favourite snacks? That's due to something called inflation. Inflation is the general and ongoing increase in the price of goods and services. And if it seems like it's happening all around you, you're not wrong. In June 2022, inflation in Canada rose to the highest level it's been in more than 30 years. According to experts, more recently, inflation has remained steady — between a rate of 2 to 3 per cent. Our question this month was in response to inflation. We asked you: How do you manage your money to get the most out of it? Kids across Canada submitted their answers. We received many thoughtful responses and selected a few to showcase. What it takes to run for federal politics in Canada
Federal politicians across Canada are officially running for office in the next election. You might be wondering … how did they even become a political candidate to begin with? Turns out the process of becoming a candidate is a lot like a race within a series of races. There are hurdles to jump over, things to avoid and of course, lots of paperwork! CBC Kids News Contributor Sabrina Erin demonstrates how to become a political candidate in this month's KN Explains.

Would you ever want to run for political office? Why or why not?

Then check again next week to see if your thoughts are featured! A federal election is underway, with 343 seats in Parliament ready to be filled by hopeful political candidates. The process of becoming a political nominee, let alone the politician who wins the seat, is a difficult journey. Lots of kids grow up wanting to make a difference in the world. So we wanted to know: Would you ever want to run for political office? Why or why not? Although the path to politics might be challenging, for many, politics is a rewarding way to give back to your community. Maybe it's your dream to be behind a podium, speaking to thousands of Canadian voters about your ideas and values. Or perhaps you'd rather do something different, outside politics.
