Shankar Mahadevan Opens Up About His Hair Restoration Treatment

Shankar credited producer Boney Kapoor for introducing him to the hair expert for his treatment Hair restoration, including hair transplant procedures, is a common cosmetic surgery aimed at addressing hair loss and restoring a natural hairline. Over the years, several celebs have publicly opened up about undergoing treatment to regain their hair growth. The latest one to join the bandwagon is singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan. During an interview, the musician shared that his decision was motivated by his desire to project a more youthful and confident image, both personally and professionally. Shankar said, 'You know, seeing friends and people around you go through similar changes makes you realise how much it may improve your personality. That's when it hits you: so many people in our country go through this quietly, but it makes such a significant difference," as quoted by ETimes. He credited producer Boney Kapoor for introducing him to the hair expert for his treatment. 'My friend Boney Kapoor recommended me to Dr. Pradeep Sethi. Initially, I thought it was only about hair, but seeing Dr. Sethi disclosed something much deeper. He made the entire experience so smooth, professional and I barely noticed when the transformation was complete," said the singer. Known for his compositions in several notable films, Shankar further recalled a heartfelt moment during the time he was working on Aamir Khan's 2007 hit film Taare Zameen Par. He said, 'During the composing process, we were in Chennai, and Aamir Khan's mother was ill. We were staying at a hotel near the hospital, and we wrote one of the film's essential tracks right there, in a small hall with a simple musical setup. It reminded me that music does not require grandeur, only authenticity and passion." He is currently getting praise for his amazing composition in Aamir's recent release Sitaare Zameen Par. The soundtrack, composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, is being applauded for its celebratory and feel-good vibe, a departure from the more emotional tone of Taare Zameen Par. Apart from that, Shankar has also composed songs in films like Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Mission Kashmir, Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Main Hoon Na, Bunty Aur Babli, Rock On, Salaam-E-Ishq, My Name Is Khan and Wake Up Sid, among others. Kajol reveals why she turned down Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna for Aamir Khan's Fanaa: 'My daughter was really small then'

Released in 2006, Fanaa became an instant blockbuster, winning hearts with its soulful music, powerful dialogues, and emotional storytelling. Directed by Kunal Kohli and produced under the Yash Raj Films banner, the film starred Aamir Khan and marked Kajol 's much-anticipated comeback after the birth of her daughter, Nysa Devgn. While fans remember Fanaa for its hauntingly beautiful shayari and the sizzling on-screen chemistry between Aamir and Kajol, few know that Kajol actually turned down Karan Johar 's Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna to be a part of the film. In a recent interview with Varinder Chawla's page, Kajol confirmed that she was offered Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, which eventually starred Shah Rukh Khan , Preity Zinta, Abhishek Bachchan, and Rani Mukerji. 'Well, Karan did offer me Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna at that point of time, but I think he wanted to go abroad for three months. My daughter was really small then — six months or a year old. I was like, I can't do it. I'd love to — I think he made a fantastic film — but I just couldn't leave my child or my husband for that long. That's when the 'Ma instinct' kicked in.' The director admitted he was surprised by Aamir's suggestion, assuming Kajol would prioritise Karan Johar's film, especially since it also featured her long-time co-star and friend Shah Rukh Khan. However, after reading the script for Fanaa, Kajol instantly agreed to the role of Zooni Ali Beg, a visually impaired Kashmiri woman, and made the film her comeback vehicle. Fanaa went on to become one of the highest-grossing films of 2006, reportedly earning around Rs 130 crore at the box office. Karan Johar opens up on the decline of multi-starrers in Bollywood

Renowned filmmaker Karan Johar, who once brought iconic multi-starrers like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna to the big screen, has voiced his concern over the fading trend of ensemble films in Bollywood. In a recent interview, Karan candidly spoke about the challenges of making multi-starrers in today's cinema landscape. 'It's very difficult now,' he said. 'Actors today come with strategies, advisors, and ideologies. Back then, no one thought so much. When Shah Rukh Khan said yes to K3G, he didn't even read the script. He just knew it was my film and agreed. That kind of conviction is missing now.' According to Karan, the current generation of actors tends to overanalyze every move, often swayed by friends, family, and social media feedback. 'Even if I explain the benefits of doing a multi-starrer, by the time they go home and talk to their circles, the decision is changed. We need that old-school conviction to return,' he emphasized. He also pointed out that today's lead stars demand hefty remunerations without acknowledging the unpredictable nature of the box office. 'In those days, it was easier to bring stars together. Now, it's layered with hurdles, including budgets,' Karan added. Despite the challenges, he expressed excitement for War 2, which features Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. 'This is the biggest multi-starrer of the year. Two megastars from different industries coming togetheris rare and special. It's like a dream lineup,' he said. Karan's remarks reflect the evolving dynamics of Bollywood, where collaboration is often compromised by calculation.

‘Shah Rukh Khan used to pick up chairs and help the crew wrap shoots,' says Housefull 5 director Tarun Mansukhani

Filmmaker Tarun Mansukhani and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan share a long-standing association that dates back to the early days of Tarun's career. As an assistant and associate director, Tarun worked closely with Shah Rukh on several iconic films, including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. In a recent interview with Galatta India, the Dostana director looked back on those formative years, fondly recalling SRK's humility on set. 'I've seen him picking up chairs and helping wrap up shoots quickly when rain was approaching. He'd become like an assistant director just to get things done efficiently. He is so much a part of the crew that you will never feel that he is Shah Rukh Khan. He is always cracking jokes, and most importantly, he constantly teaches you,' Tarun said. According to Tarun Mansukhani, one of the most important lessons he learned about filmmaking came from Shah Rukh Khan himself. 'I remember just before starting Dostana he told me, 'What you think is direction, like, putting the camera here, or setting the shot is just 1% of filmmaking, 99% of your job is managing people.'' Tarun says this insight has stayed with him and continues to shape his approach to filmmaking. The film features a star-studded ensemble cast and is generating buzz for its innovative format as it will reportedly feature two different climaxes. Departing from the franchise's usual tone, the fifth edition is described not only as a comedy but also a murder mystery, earning it the label of a 'killer comedy.' Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan has begun shooting for his next project, King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film reportedly boasts a powerhouse cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Abhay Verma, and Arshad Warsi.
