A Modern Take on Timeless Tales In exclusive remarks to 'Sharjah 24,' Alya Ali Al Shamsi confirmed that the House of Wisdom continues its successful track record of delivering summer programmes that spark imagination and equip children with modern skills. She explained that this year's edition of the camp follows the strong turnout for the previous one, and includes three main camps, foremost among them the 'Kalila and Dimna' camp, which revives traditional tales in a contemporary manner. Engaging Activities to Foster Imagination Al Shamsi added that the camp features theatrical performances such as The Lion and the Bull, and interactive shadow theatre in collaboration with the UAE Board on Books for Young People, alongside musical segments and puppet shows that help nurture children's imagination and reinforce positive values. Tech and Innovation in Focus She clarified that the programme is not limited to storytelling; it also includes 'Al Jazari Lab' camp, which offers interactive workshops in artificial intelligence, design, and programming. She pointed out that it provides a hands-on learning environment that stimulates innovation among participants. Developing Life Skills Through Play The programme also includes a 'Youth Camp' that focuses on developing personal skills and boosting self-confidence through a variety of sports and creative activities. Al Shamsi emphasised that all camps have been carefully designed to equip children with 21st-century skills in a fun and safe environment.

KUWAIT CITY, June 2: The Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center (ASCC) has announced its Eid Al-Adha holiday program, set to run for three consecutive days, featuring a variety of workshops, scientific tours, planetarium shows, and live animal exhibits. According to a statement released by ASCC to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday, the center houses the largest and most diverse scientific and cultural collections in the region and serves as a trusted source of knowledge for visitors. Visitors during the holiday will have the opportunity to enjoy a new interactive live show at the Space Museum's Planetarium, where they can explore astronomy, its history, recent advances, new space technologies, and a calendar of astronomical events. The Science and Technology Museum will present the 'Kashef' journey, an immersive four-dimensional experience that takes visitors on a voyage inside the human body. The ride features moving seats synchronized with the visual scenes to create a fully engaging experience. In addition, the Museum of Arab and Islamic Sciences is currently hosting the 'Kalila and Dimna' exhibition in partnership with the French Center for Research in the Arabian Peninsula. The exhibit highlights a significant aspect of Arabic literature and is complemented by interactive workshops for children. As part of a series of events in Diriyah Season boasting the theme 'Entertain Your Cultural Curiosity,' the festival transformed Diriyah into a magical world for children, one in which they moved between pavilions. In the Story Village, young visitors listened to inspiring tales told by professionals. Shadow Shows, meanwhile, transported children to realms inspired by the book 'Kalila and Dimna,' offering a unique visual experience that blended art with literature. Children also had the opportunity to show their artistic skills in the Story and Drawing Corner in which the little ones transformed stories into paintings that reflected their creative visions. The interactive performances were no less captivating, presenting historic tales inspired by Diriyah's rich heritage in a theatrical, interactive format that encouraged children to actively engage.
