CM urged to take all-party team to New Delhi to apprise PM on BC bill

Hyderabad: The BRS leaders on Friday demanded the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to take the all party delegation to New Delhi and take up local body elections only after providing 42 per cent reservations to the BCs. Addressing a press conference here at Telangana Bhavan along with party leaders Ch Rakesh, Kishore Goud and MP V Ravichandra, the Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council S Madhusudana Chari said that Revanth Reddy's is known for giving promises and later forgetting them. CM Revanth Reddy is acting contrary to the promise he gave in the Legislative Council on 42 per cent reservation for BCs in local elections. Revanth broke his word by promising to take an all-party delegation to Delhi for the approval of the BC Bill. Despite going to Delhi many times, CM Revanth Reddy did not discuss the BC bill with PM Modi. Revanth is going to Delhi only to give kick backs. It has become clear that he has no sincerity towards the BCs. He said that even Ponnam Prabhakar had made several comments on BC Reservations. Ponnam Prabhakar is being made a scapegoat by the CM. The Congress party has never loved BCs. The Congress has a history of setting up commissions for BCs but failed to implement their reports. Madhusudhana Chari alleged that the Congress made false statements in the Kamareddy Declaration just for the votes of BCs in the elections. The Congress has given nothing to BCs even after two budgets. They said that Rs 20,000 crore will be allocated to BCs in the budget every year. They did not keep that promise. They cheated them by saying that there will be 42 per cent reservation in six months. The Congress party has no sincerity in anything. The BJP also has no concern for BCs. The central government has done nothing for BCs in eleven years. The BC ministry has not even been set up. Allocations in the budgets have also been reduced. He said that the elections should be held only after giving 42 per cent reservation to BCs in local body elections. MP V Ravi Chandra said that the Congress made many promises to BCs for votes in the elections but after coming to power, it forgot to implement the promises made to BCs.

BRS Holds Preparatory Meeting Ahead of Local Body Elections in Gadwal – Basu Hanumanthu Naidu Asserts People Will Support BRS

Gadwal: A crucial preparatory meeting of key Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party workers was held at the district BRS office in Gadwal town on Thursday in anticipation of the upcoming local body elections. The session was presided over by Gadwal constituency BRS in-charge Basu Hanumanthu Naidu, who strongly asserted that people would unequivocally stand by the BRS in the forthcoming elections. Addressing the gathering, Hanumanthu Naidu launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led state government, accusing it of implementing anti-people policies that have adversely affected various sections of society, including farmers, laborers, students, and women. He stressed that due to the government's failure to deliver on its welfare promises, the upcoming local elections have become inevitable. He also emphasized the importance of implementing 42% reservations in local body elections as outlined in the Kamareddy Declaration, a commitment made by the BRS leadership. Congress Failed to Deliver Promises Hanumanthu Naidu criticized the Congress party for its inability to fulfill its election promises, particularly the "420 assurances" and the much-publicized six guarantees. This, he warned, could deepen the dissatisfaction among the farming community. Strategic Call to Action Calling upon BRS cadres to remain election-ready, he directed mandal-level leaders to immediately begin touring villages and exposing the Congress party's failures to the people. He urged them to build awareness among the masses and to mobilize the party's grassroots network in preparation for the electoral battle. He further shared strategic guidelines with party leaders and activists on how to approach the public, gain trust, and effectively communicate the party's vision. Hanumanthu Naidu stated that the time had come to pressurize the government into fulfilling its promises by ensuring the victory of BRS candidates in the local polls. Allocate Rs 125 cr, demand Fishermen Associations

Mahabubnagar: Leaders of the Telangana Mudiraj Mahasabha from Mahabubnagar submitted a memorandum to Sports and Animal Husbandry Minister Vakiti Srihari, demanding fair budgetary allocations and immediate support for fishermen's welfare. The leaders demanded Rs 125 crore be allocated this year to ensure sustainable fishing operations. Acting on the directions of Deputy Speaker and State President Banda Prakash, the delegation led by State Working President Gurrala Mallesh and Vice Presidents Pedda Vijay Kumar and Mettukadi Prabhakar Mudiraj raised several pressing issues concerning the fishing community. They stated that the budget allocation of Rs 19.25 crore is grossly inadequate to meet the needs of primary fisheries cooperative societies, compared to Rs 102.81 crore allocated by the previous government. With the early arrival of monsoons, the leaders urged the government to immediately release funds for the supply of free fish seedlings and deposit the same directly into the accounts of the societies to facilitate timely distribution. They also criticised the government's delay in conducting elections for 1,025 registered fisheries cooperative societies, despite repeated appeals and a directive from the Telangana High Court. They emphasized that the lack of elected bodies is affecting the democratic functioning of these societies. Of the 33 district-level cooperative societies, only 12 have completed elections, and the leaders sought immediate federation membership for these elected bodies. They also demanded the clearance of nearly Rs 70 crore in dues to fishermen for fish seed distribution during 2023–24. Other key demands included implementation of the Kamareddy Declaration to secure rights over local water bodies, Rs 10 lakh group insurance without conditions, construction of permanent fish markets, geo-tagging of water bodies, and monthly pensions of Rs 6,000 for elderly fishermen. They urged both the state and central governments to address these long-pending issues for the betterment of the fishing community.

Rahul a torchbearer for next generation: Transport Minister Ponnam

HYDERABAD: Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Thursday described Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as a torchbearer for the next generation of India. 'It was only due to Rahul Gandhi's efforts and pressure that the Modi government was forced to announce that it would conduct the enumeration of castes during the Census,' Prabhakar said. The minister, along with Cabinet colleague Adluri Laxman Kumar, MP Anil Kumar Yadav and other party leaders, took part in Rahul's birthday celebrations organised by the Congress at Gandhi Bhavan. Prabhakar said that the Kamareddy Declaration was conceived under Rahul Gandhi's leadership and announced in the state, following which Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy conducted a caste survey after the Congress came to power.
