Tales, travails of women depicted in plays
Lucknow: Stories highlighting struggles faced by women were staged as plays on third day of a drama festival organised by Manchkriti Samiti on Wednesday. Dramatised versions of stories 'Atal Nishchay' by Karuna Pandey, 'Ek Seedha Trikon' by Reeta K K Agarwal and 'Band Raaste' by Amita Dubey were directed by Sangam Bahuguna and Vikas Srivastava. "We started preparing for the plays in Sep last year," said Bahuguna, adding, "All stories depicted on stage are by women writers and showcase women's psyche, struggles, hard work, sacrifices, trials, traumas, pain, suffering and unfulfilled dreams." The story 'Atal Nishchay' revolves around pain of a woman who lost her parents in childhood. Another story, 'Band Raaste', throws light on the struggle of a woman acid attack survivor. 'Ek Seedha Trikon' depicts that true love calls for effort, sacrifice, devotion and truthfulness.
