IIM Kashipur signs MoU to introduce Sustainability and Clean Energy programmes
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nagpur-based pManifold EV Academy Pvt Ltd (evACAD) to collaborate in the domains of clean energy technologies, carbon markets, green finance, ESG, circular economy, and sustainability. As part of this collaboration, both organisations are introducing a programme – Post Graduate Executive Certificate Programme in Net Zero Strategy and Sustainability Leadership – aimed at working professionals from core engineering, energy, oil & gas, power, consulting, corporate finance, sustainability & related backgrounds who wish to upskill and lead the transition to sustainable development and clean energy for industries, social sector, MSMEs, govt. agencies and the general public. Covering a wide gamut of topics from climate systems, decarbonization technologies, net zero pathways to carbon markets, climate financing, and sustainable business models, the press release mentioned. This programme is structured around three fundamental pillars: people, planet and profit. Through engagement strategies, case study-based learning and sustainability-focused teamwork, the participants will learn inclusive leadership in sustainability initiatives and change management methodologies. Additionally, they will be well trained on climate risk and economics and ecosystem thinking, as well as circular economy aspects. Participants will also explore new-age financing mechanisms for sustainability projects and investment evaluations. The MoU was signed by Prof Kunal Ganguly, Dean (Development), IIM Kashipur, and Rahul Bagdia, Chairman and Managing Director, pManifold EV Academy Pvt. Ltd., in the presence of Prof Vaibhav Bhamoriya and other faculty and members of the IIM. Meanwhile, the Institute has commenced the academic year 2025–27 by inducting 433 students across its key programmes — the MBA, MBA (Analytics), and PhD. The induction programme was held from June 23 to 26, followed by the formal inaugural session on June 27, 2025. As of June 27 (noon), the new cohort includes 265 students in the flagship MBA programme, 157 students in the MBA (Analytics) programme, and 11 doctoral research scholars under the PhD programme. Students admitted this year represent a mix of academic streams, including arts, commerce, science, and engineering, along with varied professional experiences.

IIM hosts expert lecture series on Indian knowledge systems
TheIndian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur conducted the first session of a special two-day online expert lecture series on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) for its first-year full-time students. The session, offered a deeply engaging and insightful introduction to the philosophical, cultural, and practical dimensions of India's traditional knowledge systems. More than 400 students participated in the lecture, reflecting strong interest and enthusiasm for exploring indigenous frameworks of knowledge and learning. The initiative aims to bridge ancient wisdom with contemporary management education, broader vision to cultivate well-rounded, values-driven leaders who are grounded in India's intellectual and cultural heritage. Emphasizing the depth and global relevance of IKS, Prof. (Dr.) Sampadananda Mishra, Director, Centre for Human Sciences, Rishihood University said, 'Indian Knowledge Systems comprise a vast spectrum of disciplines—from linguistics, logic, and astronomy to economics, ethics, political science, aesthetics, and environmental thought. Each branch not only carries theoretical richness but also offers profound practical relevance. Understanding IKS helps us appreciate a civilization that nurtured integrated thinking, spiritual insight, and scientific inquiry for thousands of years. These systems were not only the intellectual backbone of India but have inspired and influenced knowledge traditions around the world.' IIM Kashipur begins academic year 2025–27 with 433 students; 115 women join MBA (Analytics) batch
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur has commenced the academic year 2025–27 by inducting 433 students across its key programmes — the MBA, MBA (Analytics), and PhD. The induction programme was held from June 23 to 26, followed by the formal inaugural session on June 27, 2025. As of June 27 (noon), the new cohort includes 265 students in the flagship MBA programme, 157 students in the MBA (Analytics) programme, and 11 doctoral research scholars under the PhD programme. Students admitted this year represent a mix of academic streams including arts, commerce, science, and engineering, along with varied professional experiences. Female representation at 46% across programmes A significant highlight of this year's intake is the gender composition. Out of the total 433 students, 201 are female, making up approximately 46% of the batch. The MBA (Analytics) programme has 115 female students out of 157, accounting for 73% of that cohort. The MBA programme has 82 women, representing 31% of the intake. Among the 11 PhD scholars, four are women and seven are men. This marks a continued trend of increased participation by women in management education at the institute. The newly inducted students bring with them work experience from a range of companies including Infosys, Accenture, Deloitte, Wipro, Larsen and Toubro, Cognizant, Capgemini, ICICI Bank, EY, HCL, HDFC Bank, and Byju's. Their varied professional backgrounds contribute to the peer learning environment within the programmes, adding practical insight to classroom discussions. Industry and global engagement through induction sessions As part of the induction, students interacted with business leaders and professionals from across industries. Sessions were conducted by Jitendra Gohil, CFA and Chief Investment Strategist at Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Limited, and Nitin Madan, Managing Director and CFO of Barclays GCC India, who spoke on finance, leadership, and strategic thinking. The inaugural session on June 27 featured guest speakers from international academic institutions. Dr. Anuradha Basu, Director of the Silicon Valley Center for Entrepreneurship at San Jose State University, and Mr. Gurmeet Naroola, Adjunct Professor at the same university and former executive at Apple and Mahindra GenZe, led a session on innovation, AI, and entrepreneurial collaboration between IIM Kashipur and Silicon Valley. They discussed trends in AI adoption, global startup ecosystems, and pathways for international academic partnerships. According to a statement from the institute, through participation in initiatives such as the Study in India Programme, the institute aims to promote international collaboration in research, faculty exchange, and student mobility.
