First look at Kat Slater as new landlady of Queen Vic as EastEnders marks new era

EASTENDERS has revealed the first look at the new Queen Vic landlady back where she belongs. The BBC soap threw fans for a loop earlier this year when it emerged the iconic boozer was going up for auction. 2 2 A backstage mistake led to the auction sign being made visible in a behind the scenes video. And although it was swiftly removed, fans had spotted it and news spread that the Carter family would be leaving their home after nearly a decade in charge. The Sun exclusively revealed that it would be Kat Slater who takes over the pub and this week viewers watched as she finally got the keys. A source said at the time: A source said: 'This will be Kat's third time working in the Queen Vic, but this will be her first time at the helm. 'It's a full-circle moment for the character, as when she first moved on to Albert Square in 2000, Kat gained employment as a barmaid at the pub. Then, ten years on, she helped Alfie. 'But now she's going to be the sole licensee of the boozer and it will kick-start a whole new chapter for the pub. 'Kat follows in the high heels of the Square's most formidable women — Angie Watts, her daughter Sharon and Peggy Mitchell — and puts her at the centre of the action.' While the pub did go up for auction, mid-way through Linda decided she couldn't stand to see it sold off to a developer and called a halt to proceedings. Instead she let Kat buy the pub at the offer she previously made - and then rushed to have the sale complete within days. Kat Moon takes over the Queen Vic: A new era in EastEnders With it all being too much Elaine sent Linda and Johnny on a long cruise, while she swapped homes with Kat. And Kat remains unaware that her daughter Zoe has made a shock return - with husband Alfie desperately trying to track her down in Spain to bring her home.

EastEnders' Kat Slater makes soap history as Queen Vic owner as she sends warning to fans

EastEnders icon Kat Slater - played by Jessie Wallace - takes over Albert Square's Queen Vic this week on the BBC soap and delivers a message to viewers in the process EastEnders fans have been given a glimpse at Kat Slater 's arrival in the Queen Vic as she takes over ownership - and the soap kicks off her landlady tenure with something she's never done before. The Walford icon finally becomes the owner of the Queen Vic after Linda Carter sells her the property and in tomorrow night's episode, fans will see her make her mark on the pub. ‌ In a teaser clip of tomorrow's episode, which aired on ITV's This Morning, Kat enters the Queen Vic as its owner - and breaks the fourth wall to deliver a message to EastEnders fans watching at home. In the clip, we watch as Kat enters the Queen Vic with its keys and places a scarf around the statue of the monarch. "You alright?" she says. "What's that? I can't believe it either. You've seen it all, haven't you, over the years? There ain't much gone on in there that you don't know about. ‌ ‌ "But do you know what? You ain't seen nothing yet," she adds, before giving the statue a kiss and looking straight down the barrel of the camera. It's safe to say that Kat is going to cause a stir as the Queen Vic's new landlady - and fans can expect lots of drama to come. Unfortunately, they'll have to wait one more day for EastEnders after being left on a huge cliffhanger during Tuesday night's episode. ‌ Earlier this week, teen Avani Nandra-Hart told her grandmother Suki Panesar that she was pregnant and that Joel was the father but she didn't want him to know. "You think I'm keeping it? I'm not keeping it," she told her grandmother. "I am not pushing a pram around the Square like some loser. Do you know how much stick Lily got in school?" she asked. However, Suki insisted that Avani speak to her mum and dad about the pregnancy and consider the option of adoption. Meanwhile, Linda left the Queen Vic for the final time in preparation for Kat to take over as landlady. Unfortunately, there won't be an episode of EastEnders airing tonight as the Women's UEFA competition continues ahead of Sunday's final. Germany and Spain will battle it out tonight on BBC One at 7:30pm to see who will be joining England in this weekend's big final.

EastEnders reveals another shock return as Albert Square legend's son makes Walford comeback

EASTENDERS have revealed another shock return as an Albert Square legend's son makes a Walford comeback. Gorgeous Zoe Slater, best known for her explosive 'You ain't my mother!' showdown with Kat Slater, hit the square last week and now someone else is following in her footsteps. 6 6 6 Zoe was back as Kat married Alfie for the third time and prepares to take over the Queen Victoria pub. But now there's another shock return for the drama filled square. Oscar Branning is on his way home to Albert Square this summer, and where Oscar goes, trouble is not far behind. Oscar was last seen on screen in 2017 (played by twins Neo & Charlee Hall) when he made a brief visit to Max on Father's Day. However, just why he is returning and where he's been is set to be revealed when Lauren receives a mysterious call. Newcomer Pierre Moullier will play Oscar, who is now 17, as he arrives and turns Lauren's life upside down. EastEnders Executive Producer Ben Wadey said: 'I'm very excited to bring Oscar Branning back to Walford and introduce viewers to him now that he's all grown up. "Oscar is very much a Branning which means there's going to be plenty of drama in store this summer. "We're delighted to welcome Pierre as he takes on the role and can't wait for viewers to see him bring Oscar to life.' Pierre Moullier added: 'It's pretty surreal to join EastEnders - it keeps hitting me that I'm actually on Albert Square! Blackmail horror for EastEnders teenager as sexual predator Joel targets another victim "When I found out I was joining the Brannings, it was so exciting as they are such an iconic family, and I love that there are so many skeletons in the closet. "Oscar is so much fun to play, and the audience should be prepared for the unexpected as he's a complex guy!' Pierre has already started filming, and Oscar will return to our screens next month. EastEnders stars who QUIT MICHELLE Collins has seen her second EastEnders stint boost her bank balance. Yet what stars have quit this year? The Sun exclusively reported how Michelle, 62, was down to £20,000 in her company accounts when she agreed to a shock back-from-the-dead return to Albert Square last year. Her character, Cindy Beale, was presumed dead off-camera in 1998. Yet what about the 2024 exits? Earlier this summer, loyal soap fans appeared to note how Stevie Mitchell had "quit" the long-running series. It came after Alan Ford enjoyed just six-months on-screen. Bobby Beale actor Clay Milner Russell also left this year after five years in Walford. Fans also feared Martin Fowler actor James Bye would "quit out of boredom" over recent storylines. Additionally, a host of stars have quit the BBC soap for Hollywood fame. One of the most successful stars to come from the BBC One soap is Rob Kazinsky. He played Stacey Slater's brother Sean Slater from 2006 to 2009, he has starred in Hollywood blockbusters Pacific Rim and Captain Marvel. Ben Hardy, who quit EastEnders as Bobby Beale almost a decade ago, went on to break Hollywood the following year, when he starred as Archangel in X-Men: Apocalypse. Since then, he has played Roger Taylor in Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, and he starred in Michael Bay 's Netflix movie 6 Underground. Michelle Ryan played Zoe Slater until 2005. She starred as the lead in short-lived American series Bionic Woman from 2007 to 2008. The actor, 52, will reprise his role as love rat Max Branning later this year in dramatic scenes. Jake quit the BBC One soap in 2021 after 15 years to focus on other acting projects. A telly source said: 'Jake's return is huge news for EastEnders fans as his character made a massive mark on the show. 'It'll raise some eyebrows after he was absent from the 40th anniversary earlier this year. Bosses are excited about what his character's reappearance means for spicing up the plots. 'There is plenty to go at. Max has loads of unfinished business in the Square and is set to ruffle some feathers.' Speaking earlier this year Jake admitted he missed being part of the soap — except for the busy filming regime. He said: 'I don't miss the schedules. Anyone will tell you how hard they are and sort of all-consuming, but obviously I miss a lot of the people. 'When you're at the centre of a big storyline like EastEnders Christmas, something like that — it's a real thrill as an actor to be a part of that, big storylines, big characters." 6 6 6
