Riddhi Dogra says, may be 'Jawan' makers didn't want to call Deepika Padukone Shah Rukh Khan's mother, so she became Kaveri Amma: 'I need redemption'
Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Jawan' saw Riddhi Dogra play his mother-like character in the film. She was called Kaveri Amma and Riddhi still finds it ridiculous to be SRK's mom and be called 'Kaveri Amma'. 'Jawan' directed by Atlee also starred Nayanthara while Deepika Padukone had an extended cameo in the film. In a recent interview, Riddhi has spoken about being a mother figure to SRK's character in the film. She told Screen, "SRK is eternally young and I am like a mother to him, that's ridiculous, that's the stuff nightmares are made of. I was directly called to meet Atlee on the sets of Jawan. I was very happy, but I didn't know where I was going and what was happening. After reaching there, I realized that they were shooting Jawan, the whole set was ready. Atlee explained the role to me, and I was like, 'No, what makes you think I am this person?'' She added, 'There is a younger part in the movie, and I am not his mother. I think they just didn't want to call Deepika the mother, so I became Kaveri Amma, but Deepika was the mother. I was the guardian. For me, it was like, what the hell. I was also in a funky headspace at that time. I thought it's just one life, and I shouldn't let go of this opportunity. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo I was getting to be on a set with Atlee, so I thought I should just do it.' Talking about being on the set with Shah Rukh, Deepika and working with them, Riddhi said, 'For me, it was more like being on the set and seeing how Shah Rukh works. I didn't realize that I would be there acting with him. It was painful. I need to do a project with him in this lifetime to erase this memory. I need that redemption. Deepika is fantastic; she is very empathetic, and I took that from her. Just looking at her, you could tell that she is very present and grateful for what she has through her demeanor. If you work in an environment like that, it is gratifying for everyone.' She was also nervous to play the role. The actress said, 'I was very nervous to play Kaveri Amma, very scared. Throughout the shoot, my anxiety was hitting the roof. I was having a panic attack every day because I just couldn't understand how it was going to make sense. It was not like a project that would come and go; it was a massive film. I never questioned my decision, but I had a lot of nerves.' One thing Ridhi Dogra regrets is that she didn't get to meet Shah Rukh Khan properly. She says, 'Having SRK around added to the nervousness. I don't think I have spoken to him. I am not proud of it. I went to his house. He had a little party after the release, and it is ridiculous how I couldn't go up to him. Now, when I look back, I had friends over there, people who knew him, I should have just told someone to take me to him. I met his wife, mother-in-law, and his kids, but him…I need a reset. '

Aamir Khan trolled for calling Shah Rukh Khan's Swades boring; angry netizens ask ‘Kyunki script original thi?'
In his glorious acting career which spans over three decades, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has won hearts time and again with his magical aura, his impactful acting chops and his on-point expressions. But some masterpieces stand out because of the immense passion that we witnessed onscreen. One such iconic milestone in his filmography was Swades (2004), produced and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. Not only did the film emerge to be a cult classic but till date, it is considered one of SRK's finest performances. He was phenomenal as Mohan Bhargav. So when Aamir Khan revealed that he declined the film because he found the script of Swades boring, it obviously left netizens divided. In a recent chat with Zoom, while promoting his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan revealed why he didn't reunite with Ashutosh Gowariker for Swades after working with him in Lagaan (2001). Aamir shared, 'Why I said no to Swades? Mujhe bohot boring lagi thi.' The actor revealed that Ashutosh already told him the story of Swades, which was titled 'Kaveri Amma' at the time, when they were shooting for Lagaan and Aamir liked it. But after completing Lagaan when he heard the 3 hour narration of Swades, Aamir told Ashutosh that he found it boring. The actor felt that the thought behind the film was noble but the way it was told was boring. Aamir went on to share, 'Actually maine abhi tak film dekhi nahi hai, Swades. Toh shayad usne correct kiya hoga, achhi bani hogi, I don't know. Aur logo ko Shah Rukh ka kaam khaas pasand aaya tha usme, maine yeh note kiya tha.' Aamir's statement left many fans — who truly enjoyed Swades — irked. This resulted in massive trolling, with some accusing Aamir of being bitter and others taking a dig at him for making remakes. For instance, a social media user stated, 'I have watched swades 3-4 times on tv. Every independence day they used to telecast it. One of the best movie of srk. Hit movie kahi se copied hoti toh mamu kar lete,' whereas another asked, 'Kyunki script original thi?' A comment read, 'Isko oscar worthy film banani hai. Aur phir LSC, Ghajini aur Dhoom jaisi remake banata hai. Swadesh was one oscar worthy film, even more so than Lagaan anyday,' whereas another netizen claimed, 'He was a bitter person, he is a bitter person, he will be a bitter person. And apparently, Thugs, Dhoom 3, Mela, Mann, Mangal Pandey, Dhobi Ghaat, Baazi, Love Love Love, Tum Mere Ho, Talaash are all movies that were more entertaining.' However, there were also some netizens who came out in Aamir's support. One such comment read, 'for those stans getting offended that he hurt their feelings by putting down their idol.. please watch the full interview. He said when script was narrated to him he told ashoutosh gowariker that he found script very boring. He has very good subject/story in hand but needs to work on the script.. nothing against srk at all..' What did you think of Shah Rukh Khan and Ashutosh Gowariker's Swades?

Shah Rukh's fans offended as Aamir Khan says he rejected 'boring' Swades: ‘Will be happy when Sitare Zameen Par flops'
Aamir Khan opened a can of worms with his statement on Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Swades. In a recent interview, the actor said he rejected Ashutosh Gowariker's film because he found it 'very boring'. The internet hasn't taken Aamir's comment lightly and has been writing about why Swades is a masterpiece in Indian cinema, with some adding that they would even rejoice if his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par fails. (Also read: Aamir Khan reveals he rejected Shah Rukh's Swades because he found the script 'boring': Maine ab tak film dekhi nahi hai) In an interview with Zoom, Aamir said, 'I found it very boring! I had said this to Ashu when he narrated the whole story to me. In fact, I'll tell you, Ashu narrated the story to me when we were making Lagaan. It was titled Kaveri Amma then. That's what he told me.' As soon as the interview dropped, the internet started buzzing with reactions. One comment on X (formerly called Twitter) read, 'This portion of a song from Swades has more message than the entire filmography of Aamir👍Swades is the best movie from Indian cinema. Every dialogue and scene of Swades teaches you the values of life.' Another fan wrote, 'I will be very happy when Sitare Zameen par flops, this guy has crossed all limits to demean Srk, despite srk supporting his son's debut film and went to premier as well (sic).' Another fan commented, 'Swades would've been really boring with Aamir. It's Shah Rukh's eyes - that quiet intensity, the unspoken emotion - that breathe life into Mohan Bhargav. That kind of magic isn't something the other one could ever replicate' A fan commented, 'Swades still remains so relevant and an significant impact to cinema, Aamir wouldn't do, what SRK did in this film, one of the greatest from Hindi Cinema.' Its Shah Rukh Khan's remarkable performance what made this a cult classic. The film aged better than Lagaan and still relevent after 20 years.' Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Swades is considered one of the best performances of Shah Rukh's career. The film went on to win two national awards in 2004 and has attained cult classic status among film lovers. The audience will see Aamir Khan next in Sitaare Zameen Par. Aamir Khan found Shah Rukh Khan's Swades boring, reveals why he REJECTED: 'Main bore ho gaya…'
Aamir Khan is in the limelight as he is on a promotional spree for his upcoming sports drama, Sitaare Zameen Par. The actor, who has ruled the industry for over 30 years, has rejected several movie projects that later emerged as big hits or gained cult status. In a recent conversation with Zoom, Aamir Khan revealed turning down Shah Rukh Khan's cult movie Swades and stated an honest reason behind it. The 60-year-old admitted that Swades was offered to him during the shooting of Lagaan, and it was titled Kaveri Amma back then. "Jab hum Lagaan bana rahe the, Ashu (Ashutosh Gowariker) ne ye kahani mujhe tabhi sunai thi, uska naam tha Kaveri amma, tab mujhe kahani bahut pasand aayi thi to humne decide kiya tha ki Lagaan ke baad ye banayenge," said Mr Perfectionist. (When we were making Lagaan, Ashu (Ashutosh Gowariker) had told me this story. Her name was Kaveri Amma. I really liked the story, and we decided to make it after Lagaan). Since Aamir had liked the story, he decided to produce it himself under Aamir Khan Productions and asked a writer to develop the story with Ashutosh Gowariker. Furthermore, the actor revealed that he stepped out of it after listening to a three-hour-long narration, underscoring that it was too dull for him. 'Mera first reaction main tujhe pahele batana chahta hun, usne kaha kya? Maine kaha main bore ho gaya hu. Tera thought kitna bhi novel ho, aur jo tu kehna chah raha hai wo bahut hi sahi cheez hai aur bahut achhi cheez hai aur bahut zaruri cheez bhi h, lekin itne boring tareeke se kahega to mujhe maja nahi aayga. Baaki logo ka pata nahi, main bore ho gaya hun," concluded the PK actor. (My first reaction, I want to tell you first. I said I am bored. No matter how novel your thought is, what you want to say is a very important thing, but if you say it in such a boring way, then I will not enjoy it. I don't know about the other people, I am bored). For the uninitiated, Aamir Khan collaborated with Ashutosh Gowariker on Lagaan, which emerged as one of the landmark films in Indian cinema. The movie not only smashed the box office records but was also nominated for the Academy Awards that year. After Aamir Khan's exit from Swades, Shah Rukh Khan played the lead character of Mohan Bhargava. Though the movie flopped, it turned out to be one of the actor's most loved performances.
