Biker airlifted to hospital after Powys mountain road crash
A motorcyclist was flown to hospital via air ambulance after crashing on a Powys mountain road.
Emergency services were called to an isolated road between Machynlleth and Staylittle, known as Forge Road, to attend an injured motorcyclist.
Police received the call at around 11.15am on Wednesday, July 9, reporting that a single vehicle had been involved in a crash along the road.
According to Dyfed Powys Police, the motorcyclist, while riding a Kawasaki ZR, left the road between Staylittle and Machynlleth and had to be taken to hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.
Wales Air Ambulance was called to the scene to take the rider to hospital, leaving the road unpassable while the emergency services helped the injured rider.
A spokesperson for Dyfed Powys Police said: 'Police attended a single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at about 11.15am, this morning, Wednesday, July 9.
'A Kawasaki ZR motorcycle left the road, between Staylittle and Machynlleth.
'The rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.'
