Novak's ton up Novak Djokovic notched his Wimbledon century to reach the fourth round. The seven-time champion, 38, breezed past compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic and became just the third player in Wimbledon history to register a hundred SW19 victories. Djokovic now joins Roger Federer and Martina Navratilova in that exclusive club, earning his 100th win with some precision serving and lung-busting rallies. Winning an eighth title would take Djokovic to 104 wins, one short of Federer. His old rival is also the only man to have reached the last 16 (18 times) more often than Djokovic, who is into the second week for a 17th time. After a testy first set against former Davis Cup team-mate Kecmanovic, the Serb veteran rattled through the gears to win 6-3, 6-0, 6-4.

Djokovic thumps Kecmanovic for Wimbledon ton and spot in last 16

Seven-times Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic roared his way to a rare century at the grasscourt Grand Slam on Saturday when he outclassed Serbian compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3 6-0 6-4 and reached the fourth round in his quest for a record 25th major. The sixth seed's stellar display ensured that he became only the third player to claim 100 match wins on the All England Club lawns after nine-times champion Martina Navratilova and eight-times winner Roger Federer. Djokovic started and finished the opening set with aces and grabbed the decisive break during the see-sawing eighth game. At one point he had the Centre Court crowd standing in ovation when he produced a spectacular diving winner at the net. His 49th-ranked Davis Cup teammate cracked on serve in the opening game of the second set and allowed Djokovic to quickly reel off the games and double his advantage in what suddenly became a lopsided contest. Kecmanovic raised his fist to applause when he stemmed the flow at the start of the third set but a double fault gifted his opponent the break in the third game and there was no stopping Djokovic as he booked a clash with 11th seed Alex de Minaur.

Djokovic achieves another milestone with his 100th Wimbledon victory to join Navratilova and Federer

LONDON: Novak Djokovic became only the third player in Wimbledon history to reach 100 victories — after Martina Navratilova and Roger Federer — with his 6-3, 6-0, 6-4 win in the third round over Miomir Kecmanovic on Saturday. Djokovic, who has won seven of his 24 Grand Slam titles at the All England Club, took control by winning nine consecutive games from 3-3 in the first set on Centre Court against his Serbian compatriot en route to his latest milestone. "Any history that I make in my favorite tournament, I'm blessed," Djokovic said in an on-court interview. The 38-year-old Djokovic, playing in his 20th Wimbledon tournament, will next face No. 11 Alex de Minaur for a spot in the quarterfinals. Djokovic, who could potentially meet No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the semifinals, has lost the past two Wimbledon finals to Carlos Alcaraz. Djokovic made just eight unforced errors through two sets and led 5-1 in the final set before Kecmanovic made him work for the victory. "I have enjoyed myself very much except maybe the last couple of games. Things got a bit complicated," said Djokovic, who finished with 60 winners and 19 unforced errors, along with 16 aces. The highlight of the match came in the eighth game of the first set, with Djokovic looking to break. His diving backhand volley winner at the net on the fourth deuce sailed past Kecmanovic, who slumped his shoulders as he watched the ball land in down the line. On the ground, Djokovic smiled and soaked in the applause for a moment before going on to earn the key break. "I try not to take anything for granted, particularly (at) this age, still going strong, still trying to compete with the young players and do some slides and some splits on the court, and push myself to the limit," he said. Navratilova, a nine-time Wimbledon singles champion, amassed 120 singles victories. Eight-time champion Federer reached 105 singles wins.
