Elavarasan aims to revive Kelantan TRW in Super League
NEWLY appointed Kelantan TRW head coach E. Elavarasan is determined to steer the team to a stronger standing in the 2025/26 Super League campaign. Elavarasan said that in the previous season, the team — then known as Kelantan Darul Naim FC (KDN FC) — had finished at the bottom of the league table, and this time he is targeting at least a top-eight finish. 'I accepted the offer to become the new head coach due to several factors. I've always seen Kelantan as a team with great history and once among the best. That is what drives me to restore its standing in this Super League season. 'I had discussions with clubs abroad before making this decision. In fact, I've been shuttling overseas over the past few years. This offer gave me a reason to finally settle down here,' he said. He was speaking to reporters after conducting his first training session with his players at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here today, which was also attended by Kelantan TRW Chief Executive Officer Datuk Mohd Irwan Rizal Mohd Ali. Elavarasan further urged football fans not to place undue pressure on the newly-formed Kelantan TRW squad, stressing that the players truly need the continued support of their fans. He said although Kelantan's performances over the past three or four years have been lacklustre, he is confident that things will improve steadily over time. 'We need to play first before we can truly assess our strengths and weaknesses. We're also expecting the arrival of foreign players next week. 'So far, we have 10 players including those with experience, as well as some under-23 players with strong potential. With the addition of new players and management, I hope we can bring the team to a much better level,' he said.

KDN FC starts settling salary arrears ahead of new season
KOTA BHARU: Kelantan Darul Naim FC (KDN FC) has settled about 10 to 20 per cent of the salary arrears of last season's Super League players. KDN FC chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Irwan Rizal Mohd Ali Napiah said this was the result of meetings between the club management and the players involved in the wage dispute. He said the players agreed on a payment arrangement to fully settle the outstanding salaries. 'The arrears involve salaries for February, March and April 2025. We began meeting with the players yesterday to resolve this matter,' he told reporters after attending a programme with KDN FC Supporters' Club here last night. He said negotiations would continue from time to time until all arrears are cleared before the start of the 2025/2026 Malaysian League season. Commenting on the team's preparations, Irwan Rizal said KDN FC has allocated RM6 million for team management this season, including for players, coaches, officials and other management aspects.

KDNFC Committed To Start 2025-2026 Super League Season Without Debts
KOTA BHARU, May 19 (Bernama) -- Kelantan Darul Naim FC (KDNFC) is committed to starting the 2025-2026 Super League season without any debt and striving to restore the glory of football in the state. Its chief executive officer, Datuk Mohd Irwan Rizal Ali Napiah, said the club is serious in settling all existing arrears before the league kicks off this August. Kelantan FC boss vows to settle wage backlog before M-League kick-off
KOTA BARU, May 8 — Football club Kelantan Darul Naim FC (KDN FC) has stated its commitment to resolve the delayed salaries of its players, some of whom are owed up to four months, before the start of the new season. Its president, Rozi Muhamad, said that salaries were previously delayed up to seven months, but the management had settled at least three months' worth since early February. 'We are committed in this issue and have taken steps to resolve it, with four months left to be paid soon to ensure KDN FC can play in the next season of the Malaysia League,' he told reporters after an appreciation dinner for club sponsors and strategic partners here last night, where corporate figure, Datuk Mohd Irwan Rizal Mohd Ali Napiah was appointed as the club's new chief executive officer. Rozi also denied that the amount owed to players had reached eight months, pointing out the maximum was seven months and they were trying to settle what was owed. On planning for the team, he said that the club would have about 70 per cent new players and management to mount a challenge in the next season. — Bernama
