Kellie Harper lands first high school commitment of Missouri women's basketball tenure
Kellie Harper is on the board in the high school recruiting game. Missouri women's basketball landed its first commitment in the Class of 2026 on Monday evening, as 6-foot-3 center Cecilie Brandimore announced via her X account that she has pledged to the Tigers. Advertisement Brandimore marks the first high school player to commit to MU in the 2026 cycle — and the first high school commit of Harper's young tenure. The Tigers added seven players in the transfer portal for the upcoming season, but won't have any true freshmen on the roster this year. 'I would like to give all glory and praise to God for the amazing opportunities, experiences, people, and coaches that he has blessed me with during my recruiting process,' Brandimore posted to social media. 'Thank you to the coaching staff for believing in me, and GO TIGERS!' Harper dipped into somewhat familiar territory to get on the board in the next recruiting class. Advertisement Brandimore hails from Franklin, Tennessee, near Nashville. Harper was previously the head coach of Tennessee. She is not currently among the players listed in the ESPNW 100 rankings for girls basketball recruiting, but has been a consistent standout at the high school level. According to the Tennessean, Brandimore averaged 24.9 points, 13.6 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game last season en route to earning first-team All-Midstate Large Class honors from the publication. Franklin's Cecilie Brandimore gets the ball in the post against Centennial during their girls basketball game Friday, Feb. 7, 2025 at Franklin High in Franklin, Tennessee. Both teams wore the jerseys of Natchez High, the city of Franklin's former all-Black high school. Missouri women's basketball gets second Class of 2026 commitment under Kellie Harper
Kellie Harper and her staff have doubled up in the Class of 2026. Missouri women's basketball received a verbal commitment Thursday from Ellie Muller, a 6-foot-3 power forward in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Muller is the second player to pledge to Harper's first high school class. Advertisement Both of Mizzou's two recruits to date are listed at the same height, as 6-3 center Cecilie Brandimore announced June 30 that she had committed to the Tigers. Muller is a Des Moines, Iowa, product who plays her high school basketball at Dowling Catholic. According to the Des Moines Register, the forward had offers from in-state Drake and Iowa State. The new Mizzou recruit also plays AAU basketball for All Iowa Attack, which is where WNBA All-Star point guard Caitlin Clark played. All Iowa Attack is one of 32 Nike Girls EYBL-sponsored programs. Muller is Dowling's all-time blocks leader, with 193 in her high school career to date. Last season, she averaged 16.5 points, 11.2 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game entering the Class 5A tournament, where Dowling finished runner-up. Mizzou WBB lands 3rd commit this week in FAU's Sydney Mains
After building out her new starting five, new Mizzou WBB coach Kellie Harper faced a different question; what would she do with the remaining six roster spots. Her first depth commit is close to home, in redshirt freshman Sydney Mains of FAU; originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. Advertisement Mains comes to the the team following assistant coach Jennifer Sullivan, who originally recruited and coached her during her freshman year. She saw good minutes in her first two games, averaging 12.5 minutes and 3 points. But her season was cut short after suffering an injury early in a game against North Florida. Injuries have been an issue for Mains, as she suffered a partial tear in her ACL, MCL and PCL early in her high school career at Knoxville Catholic. But that didn't stop her from being one of the best players in the area, tabbed as The Knoxville Focus / Coaches' Knox County Player of the Year while averaging 18.5 points. This scoring onslaught was persistent, as she finished her time at Knoxville Catholic with over 2,000 points while being coached by her dad and winning two state championships. Mains has a huge amount of potential if she can stay healthy and can provide some legitimate size on the wings. Mains is the fourth transfer portal commit of the Kellie Harper era, joining Shannon Dowell (Illinois State), Jordana Reisma (Cleveland State) and Saniya Tyler (Kentucky). Harper now has five remaining scholarship spots to fill out the rest of the roster. Up-to-date scholarship chart for Mizzou WBB. More from
