Corby man fined £2,800 for dumping bags of waste twice
A man has been fined more than £2,800 for dumping bags full of household rubbish in the same location twice. Andrei Voloaca of Dovedale Road, Corby, pleaded guilty to a number of fly-tipping offences at Wellingborough Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. North Northamptonshire Council said on 7 March 2024 Voloaca was seen dumping 10 bags of waste on Everest Lane, Corby, and returned a week later with more bags. Ken Harrington, a Reform UK councillor on the authority, said action was taken against Voloaca "to pursue those who blight our communities". On 14 March 2024 the same vehicle was spotted dumping more rubbish in the same location. The authority said Voloaca was identified as the driver and registered owner of the the executive member for assets, waste and environmental services on the authority, said the council "takes environmental offences seriously and will continue to pursue those who blight our communities through the illegal disposal of waste". "This case sends a clear message that we can and do take action against those who fly-tip and it will not be tolerated in any town, village or community in north Northants," he added.
