2 Keshena-area women arrested after high-speed pursuit in Fond du Lac County
FOND DU LAC – Two Keshena-area women were arrested Monday, June 30, after a 10.6-mile pursuit through Fond du Lac, according to Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office.
At about 9:24 a.m., a deputy in a K-9 team saw a vehicle with an equipment violation heading north on Interstate 41 near County Road B and caught up with the vehicle near the interchange at U.S. 151, just as the driver failed to obey a traffic signal turning north onto U.S. 151.

The driver didn't yield when the deputy initiated a traffic stop, instead turning onto Camelot Drive. When the vehicle stopped briefly on Police Memorial Drive, the deputy watched as the driver switched seats with a passenger, and then the vehicle suddenly accelerated.
The high-speed pursuit that followed traveled south on Martin Avenue, then U.S. 151. Deputies anticipated the suspects were trying to return to I-41, so when the vehicle entered the interstate, another deputy successfully deployed a tire deflation device.
The vehicle slowed and entered the east ditch, then both occupants fled on foot. The first deputy pursued with his K-9 partner and a second K-9 team, apprehending both suspects and taking them into custody.
Two deputies received minor injuries during the incident, but no property damage was reported.
