Tame Impala Keep Dancing On Lead Single From New LP

As expected, Tame Impala is teasing a new album with the release of the seven-minute dance track 'End of Summer,' which is out now in tandem with a Julian Klincewicz-directed video. The song stems from the Kevin Parker-led group's debut for Columbia after several albums for Interscope, which as of yet has no release date. 'End of Summer' is said to 'recast Tame Impala as a kind of future primitive rave act. The track harkens back to the acid house summer of '89, to free parties of the mid-90s, to bush doofs in outback paddocks – to an imagined history, transmuted into something simultaneously present and eternal, still unmistakably Tame Impala.' Parker previously debuted 'End of Summer' last month during a Barcelona DJ set, and sources tell SPIN that planning is well underway for a fresh round of touring with a completely redesigned stage show in the months to come. Parker will be back on the DJ decks for three early December shows in Australia opening for Justice, with whom he collaborated on the French electronic duo's hit 2024 album, Hyperdrama. Tame Impala Previews New Era With Latest Single, ‘End of Summer'

Kevin Parker has made good on his promise to release new Tame Impala, delivering a new single as the ostensible first taste of a forthcoming LP. Dubbed 'End of Summer,' the seven-minute track arrives as Tame Impala's first release via their new home at Columbia Records. While its release is transitional, so too is its sound, with Parker leaning on the history of dance music to recast the project as 'kind of future primitive rave act,' per a press release. The release of the track also comes accompanied by a Julian Klincewicz-directed visual, which pairs rapid-fire images with grainy footage of Parker both performing the track and in various locations. Parker first previewed 'End of Summer' during a surprise DJ set in Barcelona's Nitsa Club in early June. 'You guys want to hear a new song? 'You want to hear a new Tame Impala song?' he asked the crowd. 'You're going to be the first ones to hear it, you realize? There's no going back from this point on, you realize?' Earlier in July, Parker also shared a series of photos to Instagram in which he teased a forthcoming album. Soon after, an untitled 12″ vinyl record was added to the Tame Impala web store which promptly sold out. Though press materials don't describe 'End of Summer' as a preview of Tame Impala's fifth album, Parker's recent Instagram post features a whiteboard filled with album tracks, including one which appears to be 'End of Summer.' In the time since 2020's The Slow Rush, Parker has been busy with myriad other projects. In 2023, second album Lonerism would receive a tenth anniversary reissue, and would be followed by the release of the track 'Journey to the Real World' for the Barbie soundtrack. Additionally, Tame Impala would also be credited with remixes of songs from Crowded House and Elvis Presley, and would appear as a guest artist on cuts from Diana Ross and Gorillaz. In 2024, Parker would serve as a producer and guest musician for Dua Lipa's Radical Optimism album, and would also serve as a guest artist on two tracks from French outfit Justice's Hyperdrama album. One of those collaborations, 'Neverender,' would see Parker win his first Grammy for best dance/electronic recording in 2025. Most recently, Justice also announced a series of Australian tour dates for December 2025, with a Tame Impala DJ set listed as the main support alongside Busy P. Tame Impala releases new 7-minute single

Tame Impala, the music project led by Kevin Parker, has released a new song titled 'End of Summer' on July 25, 2025. The single, which runs over seven minutes, is the first solo Tame Impala release since Parker contributed to the Barbie film soundtrack in 2023. The song blends electronic elements and layered instrumentation, featuring a gradual build and extended instrumental sections. It was released under Columbia Records, marking Parker's first Tame Impala release with the label. A music video for 'End of Summer' accompanied the release, directed by Julian Klincewicz. The video presents a split-screen format with imagery set in nature and abstract sequences, consistent with the visual style often associated with previous Tame Impala projects. Leading up to the release, Parker had teased new material on social media, including photos from the studio with the caption 'Been busy.' Tame Impala's last studio album, The Slow Rush, was released in 2020. Parker has since collaborated with multiple artists and appeared on festival lineups as both a performer and DJ.

Tame Impala Nearing Completion Of New Album?

Tame Impala is today (July 17) celebrating the 10th anniversary of its beloved album, Currents, but frontman Kevin Parker is also dropping some unsubtle hints about the state of the band's next full-length. The as-yet-untitled effort will be the follow-up to 2020's The Slow Rush, which was released just weeks prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. In an Instagram post earlier this week, Parker revealed a carefully cropped photo of a whiteboard showing a list of songs with the word 'DONE' and various checkmarks written next to them. The artist debuted an unnamed new Tame Impala song last month during a Barcelona DJ set, and sources tell SPIN that planning is well underway for a fresh round of touring with a completely redesigned stage show in the months to come. The Grammy-nominated album nudged Tame Impala fully into the mainstream thanks to hits such as 'The Less I Know the Better,' 'Let It Happen' and 'Eventually' and debuted at a then-career best No. 4 on the Billboard 200. 'Currents is 10 years old today. Really?? It doesn't feel like that at all,' he wrote. 'I guess because it's stayed such a big part of my life since then it still feels fresh. When we play 'Let It Happen' live these days I still feel it deep in my soul. I guess also because it's taken me this long to really appreciate the music. I had more than one existential crisis during the making and release of this album. I couldn't tell if it was great or embarrassingly bad, not to mention the fans I would lose by switching up music styles so heavily.' 'People recently have asked me if I was feeling pretty chuffed with myself after making this album and the answer is always absolutely not!,' he continued. 'There was often so much doubt, but I knew it was an album I had to make. The lows were low but the highs were high. And during the highs, when I had forgotten to care what people were going to think, I'd be driving in my car listening to mixes feeling like it was pure magic, and in those moments I remember thinking whatever the outcome I just had to go through with it, and believe in it even if it felt totally blind. Glad I did.' In its contemporary review, SPIN called Currents 'the purest — and most complex — distillation of everything that makes the band such a nearly physical pleasure to listen to, whether it's the sprawling riffs found on their 2010 debut, Innerspeaker, or this album's taffy-lurid swirls.' Meanwhile, Parker will be back on the DJ decks for three early December shows in Australia opening for Justice, with whom he collaborated on the French electronic duo's hit 2024 album, Hyperdrama. 'Been busy': Kevin Parker teases new Tame Impala music

Kevin Parker has cryptically suggested that new material from Tame Impala could be on the way as fans eagerly await a follow-up to 2020's The Slow Rush. Parker posted a series of photos on Instagram, including one of him in the studio, one containing a progress chart of a track list - many marked with the word 'done' alongside them. The post also included a snap of Parker posing with his wife Stephanie Lawrence, who is pregnant with the couple's second child. The Australian rocker captioned the upload: "Been busy." Tame Impala's website also suggests that new music after a cryptic update suddenly appeared that altered the site's interface. Intriguingly, the page's source code has also been changed and the message "iwaitedtiltheendofsummerandiranoutoftime" can be found. Parker collaborated with Dua Lipa by serving as a producer on her 2024 album Radical Optimism and enjoyed the "wild" experience of joining the British pop star on stage at the Glastonbury Festival last year. He bonded with Lipa as they worked on the album and he was impressed at the superstar's lack of "ego". He explained: "The energy Dua creates in her creative space is one of no ego - we all noticed there were no huge personalities in the room trying to dominate the process. "When you speak to other writers, they've all got nightmare experience of people who were too big for the room."
