Rivals Five-Star: Breaking down the tight ends

INDIANAPOLIS – The stars came out for the 2025 Rivals Five-Star event at the Indianapolis Colts' facility this week. Here we break down the top tight ends from the event. The elite tight end prospect was warming up and went through the majority of position drills when he pulled his hamstring and was unable to work out the rest of the day. Prothro was visibly disappointed but his physical development, which was the biggest question mark surrounding his ranking, was obvious. He weighed in at 216 pounds and, despite the pulled hamstring, even participated in the bench press competition where he recorded nine reps of 225 pounds. Georgia is trending in Prothro's recruitment but Auburn and a handful of other teams are in pursuit. The caliber of defender Georgia commit Lincoln Keyes faced at Five-Star was new to him and it was good for the national analyst team to evaluate him under these conditions. The Michigan native is a very impressive prospect with great hands and the ability to make tough catches over the middle and down the field. He'll be a very reliable target for Georgia quarterbacks when he gets on the field in Athens but that could take some time. Keyes has a well-rounded game but he could find it difficult to consistently create separation from defenders when he reaches the next level. That being said, the style Keyes plays with would complement Prothro's skillset beautifully, if both do end up signing with Georgia. The two highly ranked tight ends were frequently seen chatting and playing catch during the down time on Tuesday. That relationship appears to be fairly strong and could pay dividends for the Dawgs down the road. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH GEORGIA FANS AT Holden Niemi was a late addition to the Rivals Five-Star roster and took advantage of the opportunity to make a strong impression. The 2027 prospect out of Illinois is fairly well-developed from a physical perspective and showed strong athletic traits throughout the workout on Tuesday. Adjusting to the variety of quarterbacks seemed to be a bit challenging for him at times, which resulted in passes falling incomplete. Niemi is only heading into his junior season so there is plenty of time for him to make adjustments to his game before he reaches the next level. He is, however, on the smaller side when it comes to the trends that have emerged in the NFL Draft for tight ends so keeping an eye on his physical growth will be a focus going forward. Tennessee tight end commit Carson Sneed posted impressive measurements during registration on Monday and he had plenty of bright spots on the field Tuesday. At 6-foot-6, 246 pounds, Sneed is fairly lean but plays with a great deal of strength, which showed when linebackers and defensive backs bounced off of him as they tried to disrupt his routes. He isn't the most natural receiver but there is plenty of potential to get excited about, which is surely part of the reason why Florida, North Carolina and others are trying to pry him away from the Volunteers. The Gators appear to be making some headway but it's hard to count out North Carolina at this point in the recruiting process. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH TENNESSEE FANS AT

Airlines and cruise lines love a partnership. Is that good for your wallet?

Travelers can book much more than just flights through an airline – including vacations at sea. Flyers may find a range of add-ons for other parts of their trip available through their carrier, from rental cars to hotels and even cruises. 'The open secret in the flight industry is that most of the money is made outside of flights,' Scott Keyes, founder of Going, told USA TODAY in an email. Co-branded credit cards, commissions on cruises, insurance and other extras often represent more revenue than the slim earnings on airfare, so the companies try to entice customers to book more than just their standard services. 'After all, they know you're traveling so there's a good chance you'll book, and they can take the first crack at getting your business before another travel company does,' he added. Here's what to know about booking a cruise through an airline. Which airlines sell cruises? 'Virtually all the major U.S. airlines have cruise line partnerships, from full-service carriers like Delta and United to budget airlines like Spirit and Frontier,' Keyes said. Those include: The programs feature the airline's branding but are typically powered by third-party cruise sellers, according to Sally French, Travel Expert at NerdWallet. 'Travelers can browse itineraries, compare cruise lines and book sailings,' she said in an email. Keyes noted that the carriers are not operating the cruises, nor are they chartering ships specifically for their customers. What are the pros of booking a cruise through an airline? Keyes said the main benefit is earning frequent flyer miles on the purchase. 'That is in addition to any miles you'd earn from your credit card, and sometimes airlines will offer credit towards elite status as well,' he said. Airlines could offer promotions that increase the return on investment, as well. 'For example, you might earn thousands of Southwest Rapid Rewards points or Delta SkyMiles simply by booking your next cruise through the airline's site, without paying anything extra over what the cruise would cost if you booked directly,' French said. Travelers may also be able to redeem miles while booking, she added, and find special offers for frequent flyers. What are the cons of booking a cruise through an airline? There can be drawbacks to the arrangement. 'Don't be seduced by the prospect of bonus points/miles, because often the prices aren't necessarily better and the points earned can be minimal,' French said. 'If you're looking to actually spend your airline's frequent flyer miles on a cruise, these tend to be a worse redemption than spending those points on flights.' In fact, Keyes said travelers will typically find the best overall cruise price by booking directly with the cruise line since they can pass along savings that would have gone to the airline as commission. Travelers may also lose out on exclusive offers or loyalty benefits available through the cruise operator, French added, and would have to deal with the third-party provider if something goes sideways. 'That extra layer can slow down problem resolution,' she said. Can I book flights through a cruise line? Many cruise lines separately allow passengers to bundle flights with their sailing. Passengers may find slightly different airfares than they would elsewhere, but that's not the primary benefit. 'The main perk of booking your flight through the cruise line is in case of a travel disruption, the cruise can help arrange an alternate flight to meet the ship at the next port,' Keyes said. 'If you (booked) the flight on your own, you're on your own.' Contributing: Zach Wichter, USA TODAY

Woman stabbed at Keyes house party dies, several others injured

A woman died after she was stabbed during a fight that left several others injured at a house party in Keyes late Friday night, deputies said. The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a house party on Jennie Avenue in Keyes shortly before 10:45 p.m. While responding, deputies received information that one person had been stabbed. But at the scene, deputies said they located two women in the street who had been stabbed. One woman was responsive and later died, deputies said. The other woman was alert and conscious and taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. Deputies said several other people were injured from either being punched, kicked or hit over the head with objects. Several people were detained inside the home where the party was, deputies said. They were all released after they were interviewed. Detectives are working to identify the suspect in the case.

Tyler Perry lawsuit: Old video of Christian Keyes accusing ‘poweful man' of sexually harassing him resurfaces

Tyler Perry is making headlines after being accused of sexual harassment, workplace gender violence and sexual assault in a lawsuit by actor Derek Dixon, who isseeking at least $260 million in damages. However, this is not the first time Perry has come under fire. In a December 2023Instagram live, Christian Keyes, an actor and writer whose novel 'Ladies Night' was adapted in the BET+ show 'All the Queen's Men,' spoke out against alleged abuse he had faced, specifically referring to a 'powerful man' in Hollywood who he accused of sexually harassing him. While Keyes did not name his alleged abuser, several internet sleuths speculated that he was talking about Perry. Perry employed Keyes in his stage plays 'Madea Goes to Jail' and 'What's Done in the Dark,' and also produced 'All the Queen's Men.' Keyes said in his video at the time that his abuser had several Black people on a payroll. 'You get a grown-a** man that knows you're heterosexual and you're sleeping off Hennessey in his guest room, because he says it's safe...I'm 5 full Hennesseys down and not short Hennesseys either. And this dude tries to climb in the bed with you, so you spaz out, push him out," Keyes said while talking the alleged sexual assault. Social media users are now drawing similarities between Keyes and Dixon's allegations against Perry. 'Actor Derek A Dixon and Christian Keyes stories are extremely similar, and both men continued working with the abuser. Both victims never called the police nor filed a police report,'one X user wrote. 'remember Christian Keyes made this video about Tyler Perry (allegedly) last year? I remember a blind item saying he was paid off, but more people will come forward about TP. I guess where there's smoke, there is fire,' another said. One user wrote, 'The same story Derek Dixon is sharing of his alleged sexual assault from Tyler Perry is the SAME story Christian Keyes shared about a 'Black Hollywood giant' that he's worked w/ for yrs before he was bullied into deleting his videos from IG. Believe survivors the FIRST time.' Dixon's lawsuit accused Perry of using 'his power and influence to molest, abuse, and sexually assault impressionable and vulnerable employees and actors who look to him for guidance and mentorship,' according to The has denied the allegations, with his attorney, Matthew Boyd, saying in a statement, 'This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam. But Tyler will not be shaken down and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.'
