Southern Governor Inspects Isa Town Community Centre Ahead of Ashoora
His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Southern Governor, conducted an inspection visit to the Isa Town Community Centre (Mattam) in preparation for the Ashoora season. He was accompanied by the Deputy Southern Governor and the Deputy Director-General of Southern Governorate Police. The visit aimed to oversee readiness and ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place. HH the Southern Governor reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening community partnership in line with the directives of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, ensuring full support and cooperation on both security and social fronts. He praised the efforts of security and service authorities and their collaboration with community centres, highlighting the importance of continued coordination to ensure a safe and successful Ashoora season.

Focus on summer programmes and initiatives
As part of the ongoing efforts and commitment of His Highness Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, a coordination meeting was chaired by the Southern Governor, Colonel Hamad Mohammed Al Khayat, to review preparations for the sixth edition of the Governor's Social Security Programme 2025 and discuss the launch of summer initiatives and programmes. The meeting was attended by Deputy Director-General of the Southern Governorate Police, Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, officials from the governorate, a liaison officer from the General Directorate of Civil Defence, and representatives from youth centres and clubs in the governorate. At the outset, the Deputy Governor stressed the importance of joint efforts between the Interior Ministry's directorates and the Southern Governorate in implementing programmes and initiatives that reinforce community partnership. Security standards This aligns with the directives of His Excellency Interior Minister, His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to uphold the governorate's leading security standards. The Deputy Governor also reviewed the upcoming launch of the sixth edition of the Governor's Social Security Programme, which has achieved notable success in previous years. The programme aims to enhance the concept of community partnership and raise security awareness by introducing innovative and modern approaches to promote social and security values among the youth of the Southern Governorate, including both males and females. The programme is scheduled to begin in mid-June and reflects ongoing cooperation between the Southern Governorate, various security authorities, and the AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation.

1,000 Ramadan Baskets Distributed as Part of ‘Majalat Al-Khair 8' Initiative
His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate, has launched the eighth edition of the "Majalat Al-Khair" initiative, distributing over 1,000 Ramadan food baskets in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative, which has achieved significant success over the years, continues to reinforce its impact as a charitable and community-driven program. The launch event was attended by Deputy Governor Brigadier Hamad Mohammed Al Khayyat, alongside several officials, volunteers, and members of the governorate. On this occasion, His Highness the Governor emphasized the Southern Governorate's commitment to launching a series of community initiatives during Ramadan. He highlighted that "Majalat Al-Khair 8" is one of the most exceptional initiatives, having consistently delivered positive outcomes through its previous editions. He noted that the initiative aligns with the governorate's mission to strengthen community partnerships and promote values of solidarity and social cohesion. His Highness also underscored the importance of volunteer work and teamwork, as the initiative involves the participation of volunteers from both genders across the governorate, supervised by the Southern Governorate's personnel. Additionally, the initiative is supported by Ibrahim K. Kanoo Company, Basmat Khair Society, and independent volunteers. He further stated that the involvement of volunteers reflects the noble objectives of the initiative and helps instill strong community values. During the event, the Governor officially inaugurated the eighth edition of "Majalat Al-Khair," which includes essential food and household supplies distributed annually in conjunction with the month of Ramadan. It is worth noting that the Southern Governorate first launched this charitable initiative in 2018. Since then, "Majalat Al-Khair" has become a key social project aimed at providing Ramadan food baskets to families in need.

Southern Governor Leads Security Committee Meeting to Address Safety Ahead of Ramadhan
Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Southern Governor and Chairman of the Security Committee, chaired its second meeting. HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali emphasized the committee's role in implementing the directives of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, focusing on enhancing stability and addressing the security needs of residents in the Southern Governorate. According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali commended the security agencies for their consistent efforts in maintaining safety. He highlighted the strong cooperation between the governorate and security entities to effectively meet public security requirements. The governor reviewed the preparations of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate and the General Directorate of Traffic for the upcoming month of Ramadhan. HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali directed enhanced coordination to support community police efforts and ensure effective deployment of traffic patrols around main roads, mosques, and public spaces. He also stressed the importance of intensifying security campaigns in markets and public facilities to maintain safety during the holy month. The governor underscored the need for coordination between security agencies to safeguard campers and visitors to desert areas, particularly during the removal of camps at the end of the season. The governor also highlighted the significance of environmental preservation and cleanliness in desert areas. He commended the collaborative security efforts, noting a decline in reported incidents, increased police patrols, and the success of over 80 awareness campaigns aimed at promoting safety. Additionally, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali instructed early coordination for the observance of World Civil Defence Day on March 1, as part of the governorate's efforts to support security initiatives and raise public awareness. He emphasized the collaboration between the governorate and security authorities in organizing community-focused security programmes.
