Khloé Kardashian reflects on her filter addiction and past photoshop struggles: ''It was a strange time...'

Khloé Kardashian confessed her past dependence on Photoshop and filters, influenced by societal beauty standards and her surroundings. She acknowledged the pressure to enhance photos, leading to insecurities and a distorted self-image. Realizing the need to embrace her authentic self, Khloé now prefers video over still photos and actively works on self-acceptance, despite occasional temptations to use filters. Khloé Kardashian is no stranger to public scrutiny, especially when it comes to beauty standards and social media. In a refreshingly honest episode of her podcast Khloé in Wonder Land, the reality TV star opened up about her past struggles with Photoshop and filters, reflecting on how they once distorted her self-image. Influenced by the Times and Those Around Her Khloé acknowledged that there was a time when she heavily relied on editing tools, influenced both by the people around her and the era's beauty standards. She reflected on how widespread the use of Photoshop once was, noting that many, including herself, felt pressured to enhance their photos more back then than people generally do today. Still Navigating Insecurity She further admitted that while she no longer relies on filters the way she once did, she still has moments of insecurity. She acknowledged that the filter culture once became so consuming that it was hard to view oneself without digital enhancements. Though she occasionally feels tempted to use a filter when she's not feeling her best, she shared that she now prefers how she looks on video over still photos and continues to work on embracing her natural self. A Wake-Up Call Reflecting on her past, Kardashian admitted she wished she had been kinder to herself. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like These Are The Most Beautiful Women In The World Undo She recalled how constant exposure to heavily edited images—even of herself—blurred her sense of reality. Surrounded by people who routinely altered photos before sharing them, she began to believe those versions were real. Comparing paparazzi shots to filtered ones only deepened her confusion. Eventually, she realised the need to 'reprogram' her thinking, step back from filters, and embrace her authentic self. She described that phase as a 'strange time' where the pressure to look a certain way became overwhelming. A Public Battle with Filter Culture Khloé has long had a complicated and highly public relationship with Photoshop. Over the years, several of her social media posts have faced backlash for overly edited or face-tuned images. One notable incident sparked major online debate when her grandmother, MJ, unknowingly shared an unedited photo of Khloé in a bikini. The candid image stood in stark contrast to the polished pictures Khloé typically posts, fueling discussions about unrealistic beauty standards and the ongoing grip of filter culture on the digital world.

Climate change kills Steve Miller's tour — but it won't set off a tsunami of concern for the environment

Contrary to the song, Steve Miller does not want to fly like an eagle to the sea. Not if he is airborne due to a tornado or hurricane. Isn't it strange how climate change is no longer the urgent talking point it should be? Khloé Kardashian Claims She's Stopped Photoshopping Pics Due to Looking Like 'a Cartoon'

Khloé Kardashian has gotten a lot of backlash over the years for her use of Photoshop and FaceTune on Instagram, but apparently she's no longer editing her pics. Speaking on her podcast, Khloé in Wonderland, Khloé responded to claims that she photoshops everything she posts, saying (via People) "I don't. But there was a time that I definitely did. There was a time that I was around some people that would make me feel like I needed to. I also think it was the era too. I felt like a lot of people were Photoshopping or heavily Photoshopping more than they do now." She added, "I do feel like there was a time that we all just got consumed in this filter lifestyle and we couldn't see ourselves without a filter. And there's definitely days that I'm like, ugh, I need a filter. Don't feel good about myself. But I'm on video. And I do like myself better in video than stills." Khloé went on to claim that "I will say there was a time that I heavily photoshopped" and added that she looked like a "cartoon character," adding " it's humiliating that I thought that was even a version of myself." "I feel bad that I thought I needed to look like that," she continued. "But I was around people who were all doing that. And if they took my photo they would make me look that way before giving it to me. And then I would think that's how I looked. And if I got paparazzied, I'd be like, 'I don't look like that. I look like this photo.' And I really had to reprogram my mind to be like, okay, we have to lay off the filters. This isn't real. That's not how I look. And I don't want to look like that. It was a strange time." The Good American cofounded added that she was "so consumed in the filter world and having my face look a way that it just wasn't, but currently now, no." Khloe Kardashian admits she looked like a ‘cartoon' after filter obsession

Khloé Kardashian is getting brutally honest about her past obsession with filters and fillers. In the latest episode of her Khloé in Wonderland podcast, the 41-year-old reality star opened up about how she once heavily edited her pictures, so much so that she looked like a 'cartoon character.' 'I wouldn't dare post a photo without heavily Photoshopping,' she confessed. 'And in hindsight, when I look back at those photos, it's humiliating that I thought that was even a version of myself.' Khloé revealed that this extreme editing led to what she called 'filler blindness,' a phenomenon where repeated image alteration distorts one's sense of reality. Surrounded by people who routinely filtered their photos, she began believing that the edited version was her real self. 'If I got paparazzied, I'd be like, 'I don't look like that. I look like this photo,'' she said. 'I really had to reprogram my mind.' She admitted to using Botox and fillers in the past but has since scaled back dramatically. 'I don't love fillers anymore,' she said, explaining she now only uses them to correct an indentation on her face where a tumour was removed. Instead of relying on filters, Khloé now prefers to take hundreds of unedited photos until she finds one, she genuinely likes. 'I don't have to Photoshop every photo anymore,' she said. 'I want to see myself for who I am.' The star hopes to inspire fans to embrace authenticity in an industry still obsessed with perfection. Her candidness marks a notable shift from a time when flawless online images were the norm.
