2-Year-Old Boy Dies Days After Getting Tangled in Window Blind Cord at Hotel

Kiere DeAndre Jaden Daniels, Jr. died on Thursday, July 10, after he suffered a tragic accident at a Hampton Inn on Colonnade Parkway in Birmingham, Ala., according to the Jefferson County Coroner and Medical Examiner's Office report obtained by PEOPLE. Kiere and his family were staying at the hotel for a family reunion over the holiday weekend, reports.
Per the coroner's report, Kiere 'was found by family entangled within a window blind cord inside their hotel room' on July 4.
Around 10:40 a.m., Birmingham police, Birmingham firefighters and Rocky Ridge firefighters were all dispatched to the hotel, reports.
CPR was then performed on Kiere, and he was transported to the Children's Hospital in Birmingham. He had shallow breathing while en route to the hospital, authorities and witnesses report, per
Once there, Kiere remained on life support until he died at 11:58 p.m. Thursday, July 10.
'The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death,' per the coroner's report. 'At this time, there has been no evidence of foul play found associated with the death.'
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office ruled his death accidental.

A representative for the hotel did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for more information on Friday.
