Cork stars share special moment with their kids after All-Ireland semi-final win
Cork's hurling heroes shared a special moment with their children on the Croke Park pitch after advancing to the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship on Saturday. The Rebels cruised past Dublin with a fantastic performance as they ran out winners by 7-26 to 2-21. They will face either Kilkenny or Tipperary in the final on Sunday, July 20. A number of the players' kids came on to the pitch following the full-time whistle to celebrate the victory with their fathers. Patrick Horgan shared an embrace with his son Jack, while Declan Dalton also celebrated with his son DJ. Despite the big winning margin, Cork manager Pat Ryan stated after the game that he believes his side can get even better. He said: 'We left a few scores behind us and are annoyed to have coughed up two soft goals. Yet we also got a lot right. 'I am delighted for the boys because 51 weeks ago we lost an All-Ireland final and it is a long way back from that. 'I am glad to have gotten back into the position we are in. It is a special place to be, in an All-Ireland final, looking forward to a big day out.' Irish Mirror sport Solus embed Ryan continued: 'I was very pleased with our attitude. Our preparation over the last four weeks has been excellent. 'There was a huge focus on what we wanted to do after the Munster final so I would like to pay credit to the players and to their spouses, girlfriends and families for giving the lads space to prepare in those four weeks. 'We will watch the Kilkenny-Tipp game with a lot of interest. We target goals all the time. The lads were really clinical in terms of goals. I am delighted with our fellas. They showed a lot of character to get themselves back into an All-Ireland final." 'We showed fight to get back into it but each time we got back into it, they got a goal.' Cork now play the winners of today's semi-final against Kilkenny and Tipp in this month's All-Ireland final. And O Ceallachain knows they are raging hot favourites. He said: 'They are going to take some beating as that was as good a team performance as I have seen in a long time. We could not live with their pace and power. They also have composure. 'They scored some fabulous goals.'
