Construction begins on new Astroturf pitch at Killarney school
The school's wide catchment area includes Killarney town, Fossa, Caragh Lake, Kilcummin, Beaufort, Glenflesk and as far afield as Kenmare.
This state-of-the-art pitch will provide a vital resource for students, both now and in the years ahead. The project is being undertaken in partnership with Killarney Camogie Club – a collaboration rooted in a shared commitment to physical wellbeing and inclusive sporting opportunities.
'At Gaelscoil Faithleann, we believe sport plays a crucial role in the physical, mental and social development of young people,' said a school spokesperson. 'We are particularly passionate about ensuring girls remain active and engaged in sport as they grow.'
The school is reaching out to past pupils, families, and the wider community to support the fundraising effort. Contributions to the project can be made via the official GoFundMe page.
'This is more than just a pitch – it's an investment in our children, our culture, and our future. With your help, we can create a space where sport, community and Gaeilge can flourish together,' the spokesperson added.
