John Stamos Came to GH Star Kin Shriner's Rescue After ‘Botched' Foot Surgery
General Hospital's Kin Shriner is finally on the mend after 'botched' foot surgery, and he has his longtime pal, John Stamos, to thank for it. In a video recently shared on X (formerly Twitter), Shriner, who has played Scott Baldwin on General Hospital for nearly five decades and has had a long history of foot surgeries, reported that an operation he had last summer left him with limited mobility. Shriner explained that he had been under the care of 'some arrogant surgeon' and that that surgeon allegedly 'botched it! So, for six months, I basically couldn't walk,' shared the actor. Lucky for Shriner, his good friend and former co-star John Stamos, who once played Blackie Parrish on GH, came to his rescue by recommending a podiatrist he had once been a patient of at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Shriner promptly made an appointment with the doctor, who reperformed the original procedure he'd had done, and things have been progressing quite smoothly every since. READ THIS: Find out what happens next on GH. In fact, since returning to his home in Florida, Shriner's been devoting himself to putting in the work required to make a full recovery. 'I'm down here at old Fort Lauderdale rehabbing this foot every day. Every day, so that I can get mobile,' emphasized Shriner. Apparently, Shriner has been frequenting his local Powerhouse Gym, day in and day out, dedicating himself to workouts in an attempt to get back to his old mobile self. 'You gotta get it back,' he said. 'Something goes wrong, you fix it. Or you try to. Anyway, that's what I've been up to.' Shriner, who last appeared on GH in August of 2024, has had a history of foot problems. In fact, back in 2019, fans of the soap may recall seeing him use a knee scooter in his scenes as Scott, while his character made his way around Port Charles. At the time the show wrote Shriner's real-life condition and recovery into the storyline. WATCH THIS: Check out Soap Hub's new podcast, Soap Hub Says here! These days, Shriner is hoping to put all of his foot woes behind him once and for all, after his long, up and down, one-year battle. And the actor is maintaining a positive throughout it all. 'I will be mobile soon,' Shriner said, wrapping up his video message to fans. 'Very soon.' Got a red hot theory about your favorite soap storyline? Email news@ — yours could be our next hot topic!
