First graduates complete KSGAAL's linguistic proofreading course
RIYADH: The first cohort of the Higher Diploma in Linguistic Proofreading program at the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language celebrated their graduation on Tuesday. The ceremony was held at the academy's headquarters in Riyadh and attended by prominent academics, students and trainers. Abdullah Al-Washmi, the academy's secretary-general, said the program reflected the academy's commitment to empowering the Arabic language within government institutions. He added the program was a pioneering model in supporting the professional development of Arabic language specialists. The one-year program is open to professionals working in editing and proofreading roles within government agencies and is accredited by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. The training pathway designed by the academy focuses on preparing specialized national linguistic teams. Its methodology integrates theoretical and practical aspects to meet the needs of government sectors and enhance the efficiency of Arabic language usage. Tuesday's ceremony saw 60 graduates honored for completing the program, which includes 435 training hours delivered by 16 trainers.

New Arabic program aids healthcare workers
RIYADH: The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, in collaboration with the Riyadh Second Health Cluster, has launched the third edition of its Arabic for Health Purposes program, an educational initiative for non-Arabic-speaking healthcare professionals. The program equips doctors and nurses with practical Arabic communication skills through an intensive two-month curriculum. The initiative is part of a broader effort to offer profession-specific Arabic courses, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday. It blends classical Arabic with the Saudi dialect and includes cultural activities to support integration into the local community. Delivered through a flexible model accommodating various learning styles, it aims to enhance healthcare workers' performance in real-world settings. The first edition in 2024 involved four Riyadh-based healthcare facilities and benefited more than 150 practitioners. The second edition, completed in April, served 52 participants in partnership with the Riyadh First Health Cluster.

King Salman Arabic academy celebrates graduates
RIYADH: The King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language held a ceremony in Riyadh recently to celebrate the graduation of the second group of non-native speakers from the Abjad Center. A total of 168 male and female students were honored after fulfilling all the program's requirements, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, secretary-general of the academy, said the Abjad Center offers a learning experience designed to equip non-native speakers with strong and effective communication skills. Al-Washmi added that the program reflects the refinement of the academy's educational model, reinforcing its role as a leading scientific authority on the Arabic language. The initiative amplifies the academy's educational and cultural impact in line with the objectives of the nation's Human Capability Development Program, he said.
