KSrelief distributes 1,100 food baskets in Sudan

NORTH KORDOFAN: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has distributed 1,100 food baskets to displaced families in Sudan's North Kordofan State, benefiting 6,383 individuals. The distribution is part of the third phase of the 2025 Food Security Support Project and the Kingdom's ongoing efforts through KSrelief to support Sudanese people amid the crisis. Meanwhile, KSrelief continues to implement its water supply and environmental sanitation project in the Yemeni districts of Midi, Haradh, Hayran, and Abs in the Hajjah governorate, as well as the Razih district in the Sadah governorate. In May, KSrelief delivered 4,561,000 liters of potable water and 47,412,000 liters of usable water in Hajjah. Additionally, 244 waste removal operations were conducted in displacement camps, and 4,048 water transport containers were distributed. The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to meet essential needs and improve living conditions in regions affected by conflict.

KSrelief distributes shelter aid in Somalia's Togdheer region

TOGDHEER: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center recently distributed 1,030 pieces of clothing, 475 shelter bags, and 20 tents to several camps in the Togdheer region of Somalia, benefiting 1,525 families and 9,150 individuals. The assistance comes as part of a 2025 initiative to distribute shelter aid to displaced persons in the African country. Earlier, three relief trucks provided by the Saudi aid agency arrived on Wednesday in the town of Sarmada in Syria's Idlib governorate, carrying 20 tonnes of medical aid. The assistance will be distributed in cooperation with the UN World Health Organization to 45 healthcare facilities in northwestern Syria, based on field-identified needs. The aid supports frontline medical teams in underserved areas, benefiting about 150,000 people. Elsewhere, the agency distributed 3,000 cartons of dates to families in need in the Shabwa governorate of Yemen, benefiting 18,000 individuals.

AMMAN: The clinics of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center provided healthcare services to 2,789 patients in Zaatari camp for Syrian refugees in Jordan during the first week of May. The general medicine clinics received 778 patients, while the internal medicine clinic treated 128 patients with diabetes, high blood pressure, and asthma. The pediatric clinics received 226 children, 131 patients visited dental clinics, and 312 women were treated by the two women's health clinics. The ear, nose, and throat clinic received 66 patients suffering from sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and middle ear infections. The ophthalmology clinic saw 37 patients. The cardiology clinic received 15 patients, the diagnostic radiology clinic received 37 patients, and the rehabilitation medicine clinic also treated 37 patients. A total of 3,245 laboratory tests were conducted for 284 patients, and 217 imaging procedures, including X-ray and ultrasound examinations, were performed for 184 patients.
