Shots fired during break-and-enter in Kitchener
The Waterloo Regional Police Service is investigating after shots were fired at a Kitchener home. Officers were called to the Breckenridge Drive area around 9:50 p.m. Saturday. Investigators said three unknown armed suspects broke into a home and stole property. When the homeowner returned and found the suspects, an altercation ensued and shots were fired. Two victims sustained minor injuries. The suspects drove away in a vehicle that was followed to a highway exit at Wellington Street North, where additional shots were fired. Officers will be in the Breckenridge Drive and Wellington Street North area on Sunday as the investigation continues. Anyone with more information is asked to contact police.

Police arrest teen in connection to Kitchener shooting

(Sidra Jafri/CTV News) Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a teenager after a shooting in Kitchener on Thursday. At around 8:40 p.m., police were called to the area of Monte Carlo Street and Victoria Street South for reported gun shots. Further investigation revealed that a group of youths were outside a townhouse complex when another individual went up to them and fired off multiple gunshots. No one was physically hurt. On Saturday, the general investigations unit, along with an emergency response team and patrol officers, completed a search warrant at a home in the area of Strasburg Road and Kingswood Drive. Police said they arrested a 13-year-old boy from the Kitchener at the home. He's facing ten charges including two counts of pointing a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent to endanger life, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm or weapon contrary to a prohibitions order and two counts of failure to comply with a sentence or disposition . The suspect was held in police custody for a bail hearing.

More than 3K Enova customers without power in Kitchener
Thousands of people in Kitchener are without power due to an outage. According to Enova Power's outage map, 3,647 customers lost electricity on Monday afternoon. The effected neighbourhoods were Stanley Park, Centreville Chicopee, Rosemount and Pioneer Tower West. The estimated time of restoration was listed online as 6:30 p.m., but a specific cause for the outage has not yet been determined.
