I just found a life-changing car gadget at Kmart for $49 - and I had no idea such an item existed
Australian shoppers are heading to Kmart Australia stores in droves to snap up a new car transforming tech gadget. Cars fitted with wired Apple CarPlay can now be converted to a wireless Bluetooth set-up with the aid of the nifty Kmart Wireless CarPlay Adapter $49. The popular item has already sold out online and is listed as 'out of stock' at several Kmart stores. The online product description for the Bluetooth enabled device explains that it's a simple way to 'upgrade your drive' by offering an 'effortless way to enjoy CarPlay without the cables'. A recent viral TikTok video highlighting the ease of use of the device has delighted legions of shoppers. A video shared by Australian woman Jas to her TikTok account sees her explain that the bargain tech find is ideal for anyone who's 'sick to death' of having to use cords to connect their smart phone to their Apple CarPlay. In place of the messy cord set up, the video demonstrates how the compact Kmart Wireless CarPlay Adapter can simply be plugged into the car's USB portal and then connected to your smart phone via Bluetooth. Once set up, the phone will automatically connect to the in-car screen anytime you hop into the car. This means the instant ability to do things like change songs or adjust the volume using the steering wheel controls - just as you would if the device were plugged in and connected via a cord. The nifty and compact gadget plugs into your car's USB outlet. Once it's set-up and connected to your phone, it will recognise your device on CarPlay - without the need to plug it in via a cord The video quickly amassed over 672,000 views and 27,000 likes. The comments section was also filled with replies from excited shoppers who planned to upgrade their in-car setup with the clever device. 'The way I sprinted to the Kmart website!' read one reply. 'This is lifechanging,' added another. One already convinced customer wrote: 'I bought one a month ago. So good! Jump in and instant connection. Don't even take phone out of pocket. It's instant with no lag. Fantastic.' Those who had struggled with various issues while using a cord for their CarPlay were also pleased to learn about the Bluetooth adapter. 'I hate having the cord so this will be awesome,' replied one person. Another explained that their wired CarPlay regularly 'cuts out' on 'every bump or corner' while using a cord. 'I was livid but now I have hope,' they added. Other replies noted that the budget retailer's adapter was well-priced compared to similar ones on the market, which are generally upwards of $80. For Android phone users, commenters noted that the device appeared to be similarly compatible with Android Auto - despite the product name. However not everyone was convinced that switching from a wired to a wireless CarPlay set-up was a great idea. One person wrote: 'Wireless CarPlay delivers lower quality music. If you use Apple Music, wired CarPlay delivers CD quality audio.' Another agreed, explaining that they'd previously tried wireless CarPlay but reverted back to using the cord 'because of lag with music playback'. Others noted that they relied on the cord not only to connect to their CarPlay but also to simultaneously charge their phone, because their car didn't feature an in-built wireless charging pad. 'I use my cord to keep the phone charged,' confirmed one person. 'I hate the cord but it's the only thing keeping my iPhone 13 from running flat throughout the day,' read another reply. A third person noted: 'Wireless will chew ya battery. Use the cable and use the CarPlay and keep the phones battery full.'

I'm a mega Kmart Australia fan - here are five items I recommend to everyone
A self-professed Kmart Australia mega fan has shared her pick of the top bargain items to organise your bathroom - and all of them clock in at under $20. Victorian woman Eliza Reid, who regularly shares shopping finds to her @bargain_homewares page recently toured the bathroom organisation section of her local Kmart store to highlight her favourite buys. In her TikTok video, which has garnered over 55,000 views, the first item that Eliza spotlighted is a set of in-shower bottles that are reminiscent of a luxe hotel wash station. Currently priced at $6, reduced from its original price of $9, Eliza explains in the video that Kmart's Set of 3 Bottles with Hangers are ideal to 'decant your shampoo, conditioner and body wash and display them nicely'. The set of three refillable bottles comes with adhesive hangers so that they can be easily hung onto the shower wall. With their sleek exterior design, these display bottles not only look great but are ideal for showers where shelf space is at a minimum. Eliza's next pick to up your bathroom organisation game is a Silicone 3 Section Holder, priced at $5.50. Again, this is perfect solution for bathrooms where shelf space is limited because it offers an alternative tidy hanging spot to store small essential items, like make-up, cosmetic brushes, toothbrushes, razors and nail care accessories. Priced at $5.50, the Kmart Silicone 3 Section Holder offers a vertical storage solution that is also easy to affix to common bathroom surfaces without the need for an adhesive Eliza noted that there are currently a range of different silicone holders at Kmart to choose from. The added beauty of these silicone holders is they don't require any adhesive to stick on, with the online product description explaining that the silicone can simply affix to clean surfaces such as 'ceramic tile, glass, marble or metal'. It also means the organiser is easily removable (without leaving any residue) and can be taken down to be cleaned or repositioned elsewhere. Another silicone bathroom organisation item that caught the Melbourne shopper's eye was the Hot Tool Silicone Tray - previously $15 but has now been reduced down to $12. Describing it as one of her 'favourite products', Eliza explained: 'It's made of silicone, so you can put your hair straightener away while it's still hot'. For those who regularly use styling tools like straightening irons and curling wands, this heat-proof silicone tray provides a safe place for the hot tool to be laid down, without the worry of inadvertently burning a bathroom vanity top or drawer. As well as being practical, the tray also provides a neat storage space for heat stylers. For those who are looking to jazz up their wash room aesthetic, the TikTok creator recommended checking out Kmart's matching range of 'pastel bathroom accessories'. 'You have the choice of a tray, a toothbrush holder, and the matching hand soap pump.' According to the Kmart website, the matching Flower Soap Dispenser, Flower Tray and Flower Dual Tumbler are all priced at $5 each and currently come in either lilac or blue. The final Kmart buy on Eliza's radar was an ingenious LED Storage Mirror, which has been knocked down from $29 to $20. 'If you need more storage, then this LED mirror might be suitable for you. You could store your skincare or makeup inside it,' Eliza suggested in her TikTok video. The bargain hunter added that the freestanding and portable mirror could even be used beyond the bathroom to do your make-up 'on the go'. The egg-shaped dome mirror features an oval mirror surface with a rechargeable LED light framing the edge, so that make-up can be applied in ideal lighting. The LED Storage Mirror can also be swung up and open to reveal a hidden storage space and small drawer inside the unit - making it an ideal spot to store make-up when the mirror isn't in use. Eliza's video was awash with comments thanking her for the bathroom organisation recommendations. 'This is so helpful honey,' replied one person. 'I'm definitely getting them' confirmed another.

The weird $3 Kmart kitchen gadget I had no idea I needed until now
Kmart Australia has quietly launched a 'clever' $3 item that solves a common cooking problem many people face. The pot lid holder - shaped as a blue hand - is designed to release steam and reduce pressure, helping to prevent pots from boiling over while you cook. Whether you're looking for a safe spot to rest your hot lid while you stir or season, or you're tired of awkwardly balancing it off the pot, the heat resistant holder does the job for you. It fits onto most saucepan rims, propping the lid open just enough to let steam escape and avoid messy boil-overs on your stovetops. Offering hands-free convenience, the holder is a great kitchen essential - especially when you're making something like a slow-cooked lamb ragu or beef stew. 'Okay this is actually genius,' one shopper said. The unusual kitchen item comes just months after Kmart released a $6 chicken shredder, ideal for shredding chicken, beef, pork and more. The practical kitchen tool is easy to use. Simply place the meat in the shredder, close the lid and use both hands to turn for effortlessly shredded meat in seconds. 'Do I need it? Probably not. Do I want it? Absolutely!' one shopper said. 'People like me who have disabilities and issues with dexterity, grip, strength, etc would love this. If you don't need it, don't buy it,' another shared. However not everyone was on board with the gadget, with some suggesting they can do the same shredding technique with two regular forks. 'Two forks for the win! This thing would be impossible to clean,' one said. 'How lazy can we get?' another asked. Despite the criticism, the chicken shredder sold out - but has recently returned to shelves across the country.
