MMU offers research-led industry-driven programmes

MULTIMEDIA University (MMU) July/August 2025 intake is still open, inviting applications from SPM, STPM, foundation and diploma holders, as well as postgraduate candidates. The next intake is October. The university, established in 1997, operates across two campuses in Cyberjaya and Melaka. To date, the university has produced more than 77,000 graduates and currently hosts over 1,700 international students from more than 75 countries. DIGITAL-DRIVEN PROGRAMMES Known for its digitally focused academic approach, MMU offers programmes across six key fields: engineering and artificial intelligence, information technology, creative multimedia, business and accounting, strategic communication and law. Its curriculum is developed in close consultation with industry partners, ensuring that students are exposed to current trends and future demands. On average, 98 per cent of MMU graduates secure employment within six months of completing their studies. STRENGTHENING NATIONAL TALENT MMU's mission, which is 'Transforming Society Through Innovation', is reflected in its consistent achievements and collaborations. Recognised as a Premier Digital Tech Institution by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), MMU continues to be a preferred choice among employers in Malaysia's tech and creative industries. Its emphasis on applied research, industry-integrated labs and strategic government collaborations provides students with hands-on, real-world experience. Key partners include ZTE, TM, Huawei, Astro and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). ALUMNI CONTRIBUTIONS MMU alumni have gone on to make notable contributions in creative, corporate and technological fields. These include the directors of local animated blockbusters Ejen Ali and BoBoiBoy, as well as industry leaders such as Datuk Dr Nazri Khan of Berjaya Inter-Pacific and Ko Chuan Zhen of Plus Solar Systems. Their achievements reflect the university's emphasis on producing not only employable graduates, but also entrepreneurial, ethical and socially responsible professionals. RECOGNISED EXCELLENCE MMU has received multiple national and international accolades, including the Putra Brand Platinum Award (2023), Employer's Choice University by TalentBank (2024–2025) and consistent placement in QS and THE World University Rankings. Several programmes carry global professional recognition, including those from ACCA, ICAEW, CPA Australia and the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
