Kuwait launches visit visa portal
Foreigners, residents, companies can apply online for four types of entry permits KUWAIT: The interior ministry on Wednesday launched the Kuwait Visa platform allowing foreigners to apply online for four types of visas to visit Kuwait. The portal was also launched on the government's communication center website. The portal enables foreign individuals to apply online for a tourist e-visa to visit the country for tourism and entertainment, which is valid for 90 days from the date of entry. This type of visa is issued only to nationals who are allowed to enter Kuwait by obtaining visas on arrival, like a majority of European countries, the US, some Asian countries, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It is also issued to foreign nationals who are residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. The second type is the family visit visa, which is issued to families to join their relatives in Kuwait. It can be issued only through a relative with an official residency in Kuwait and is available to all nationals. It is valid for 30 days. Business visas are issued to individuals who wish to visit Kuwait for business purposes, the platform states. It is issued through local companies to host business partners, organize business meetings and sign contracts. It can be issued through hotels and major corporations and is valid for 30 days. The last type is the government visit visa issued to officials of foreign countries and hosted by the government of Kuwait. It is issued through government bodies in accordance with specific diplomatic protocols and is valid for 30 days.

KUWAIT CITY, July 16: The Kuwait Visa Portal is the official electronic platform launched by the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait. It allows individuals to apply for different types of eVisas, track application status, verify visa information, and access other immigration-related services. The Ministry of Interior announced this morning the launch of the 'Kuwait Visa' platform, following the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, and under the supervision of the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Ali Al-Adwani. The platform is designed for individuals wishing to visit Kuwait under the legally approved tourist, commercial, family, and government visit visas, in accordance with the legal regulations of the Ministry of Interior and the requirements issued by the General Department of Residency Affairs. The Ministry stated that the visa types available on the platform include tourist, family, commercial, and government visas, along with details on the eligible beneficiaries and duration of stay for each: Tourist Visa The platform issues tourist visas to individuals who wish to visit Kuwait for tourism and leisure purposes. Eligible Applicants: Individuals Duration of Stay: Up to three months from the date of entry Commercial Visa The platform also provides commercial visit visas for individuals traveling to Kuwait for business purposes, such as attending meetings, conferences, or establishing partnerships with local companies. Eligible Applicant s: Local companies hosting businesspersons, organizing meetings, or conducting contract signings This includes businesspeople, representatives of foreign companies and institutions, major companies, and hotels. Duration of Stay: Up to one month from the date of entry Family Visit Visa Family visit visas are issued to individuals who wish to visit family members residing in Kuwait for family gatherings or social occasions. Eligible Applicants: Relatives of residents. The application must be submitted by a family member residing in Kuwait. Duration of Stay: Up to one month from the date of entry Government Visit Visa This visa is issued to government officials visiting Kuwait for official purposes, such as participating in international conferences or bilateral governmental meetings. Eligible Applicants: Government entities Duration of Stay: Up to one month from the date of entry Security and Legal Requirements The Ministry emphasized that all visit visas are subject to security screening and require all supporting documents from both the visitor and the sponsor whether individuals, companies, or government entities. This includes documentation specific to tourist visits. The Ministry warned that violations of visa conditions, including exceeding the allowed duration of stay or misusing the visa purpose, will be met with strict legal penalties.

Interior Minister inspects Kuwait International Airport ahead of Hajj and summer travel
KUWAIT CITY, June 1: First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah conducted an inspection tour of Kuwait International Airport on Saturday to assess preparations and operational readiness for the upcoming Hajj and summer travel seasons. In a statement, the Ministry of Interior said the visit reflects Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef's ongoing commitment to overseeing on-site operations and ensuring the efficiency and preparedness of the airport's security and service sectors. During the tour, Sheikh Fahad reviewed procedures within passenger terminals, passport control areas for arrivals and departures, and the visa issuance hall. He also received a detailed briefing on the visa issuance process through the official "Kuwait Visa" platform, along with an overview of the coordination mechanisms between the Ministry of Interior, the General Administration of Customs, and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Sheikh Fahad stressed the importance of mobilizing all available resources to serve travelers effectively, streamline procedures, and maintain high levels of security readiness. He emphasized the need for rapid response capabilities to handle any potential security incidents or operational disruptions, ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers. Accompanying the minister during the inspection were Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Major General Ali Al-Adwani and several senior security officials.
