KUWAIT CITY, July 7: After years of suspension, beach volleyball competitions are set to return in Kuwait with the announcement of two local championships in the upcoming 2025–2026 season, according to Abbas Ashkanani, head of the Beach Volleyball Committee at the Kuwait Volleyball Federation and an international referee. Ashkanani confirmed that the committee has begun coordinating with local clubs regarding their participation and the scheduling of these tournaments, marking a major step in reviving the sport domestically. In parallel with these efforts, training for the men's and women's youth national beach volleyball teams has officially begun at the Al-Jazirah Al-Khadra courts. The teams are preparing for two key upcoming competitions: West Asian Championship: August 31 – September 6 Arab Championship: September 6 – 10 Both events will be hosted in Lebanon. Ashkanani revealed the preliminary men's youth roster, which includes: Abdulwahab Talib, Jassim Al-Sabbagh, Nawaf Al-Shammari, Ibrahim Al-Ahmad, Ahmed Diaa, and Saud Al-Hashem. The preliminary women's team includes: Ghadeer Al-Sayegh, Munira Yousef, Alaa Al-Enezi, Asayel Al-Enezi, Shamail Al-Enezi, and Dana Mansour. Both teams are being trained under the leadership of national coach Ahmed Abdul-Razzaq. The current extended squads will eventually be narrowed down to two final teams per category to represent Kuwait in the championships. Ashkanani expressed optimism about the return of beach volleyball to the local sports scene and emphasized the importance of youth development in building a strong foundation for future success on the regional and international stage.

KUWAIT CITY, June 12: Nayef Al-Khamili, Assistant Secretary-General of the Bahrain Volleyball Federation, has revealed Kuwait's detailed preparation plan ahead of the inaugural West Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, set to take place in Manama, Bahrain, from July 17 to 27. Al-Khamili confirmed that following the domestic training phase, the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Volleyball Federation approved an external training camp in Tunisia, scheduled from July 4 to 16. The 'Blue Volleyball Team' will head directly from Tunisia to Bahrain to compete in the regional tournament. Al-Khamili praised the Federation's efforts in supporting the national team, stating: 'All available resources have been allocated to ensure the Blue Team is fully prepared to compete strongly in the first edition of the championship.' He emphasized the role of the national team's technical staff, led by Argentinian head coach Julian and assistant coach Zaid Al-Kazemi, who have laid out an intensive training program aimed at enhancing players' physical and tactical readiness. This program will continue up to the team's departure for Tunisia and will focus heavily on game strategies and friendly matches during the camp. The squad features a blend of youth and experience, and Al-Khamili expressed full confidence in the team's ability to deliver a performance that reflects the progress of Kuwaiti volleyball. The national delegation is competing in the tournament with four teams. The men's side features Abdulwahab Talib and Jassim Al-Sabbagh (Team 1), and Nawaf Talal and Ibrahim Diaa (Team 2). The women's teams include Al-Ghadeer Al-Sayegh and Dana Mansour, along with Munira Yousef and Halima Abdullah.
