Kyle Vassell under Dundee United consideration as Jim Goodwin tackles transfer plan head on
The former Kilmarnock skipper has options both in the Premiership and south of the border including Burton Albion Kyle Vassell is one of a number of striking options that Dundee United are considering. The former Kilmarnock captain has been linked with a move to Tannadice but has other Premiership and English options, including Burton Albion. United boss Jim Goodwin has a shortlist of striking options and is in talks on several fronts. He said: 'We're talking to a number of players and hopefully we will get some positive news at the start of next week. 'I am really pleased with how the defence, midfield and the goalkeeping situation has panned out. 'Now it is about finishing it off at the top end of the pitch.' Goodwin has already gone into overdrive with Finnish Under-21 cap Dario Naamo set to become his seventh signing of the summer. Ukrainian keeper Yehven Kucherenko has also arrived in Scotland but won't feature against Arbroath this weekend. Goodwin explained: 'Yehven arrived today but Saturday will be too soon for him. 'I want to get him travelling with the group first. He will travel to Holland with us next week. 'He'll get some sessions and will play a part in the game (FC Zwolle) the following weekend.' Jort van der Sande and Owen Stilton will also miss the trip to Gayfield but won't be sidelined for too long. 'That is the frustration of pre-season,' the United boss acknowledged. 'The boys have trained brilliantly in the last couple of weeks. But you pick up little knocks on the way 'Jort has a small calf strain, nothing major. Owen took a knock on the top of his foot in the Brechin game. 'We don't think that is going to be too serious either.'
