LANA Health and Wellness Launches Global Franchise Model as It Prepares for International Expansion
07/07/2025, Princeton, New Jersey // PRODIGY: Feature Story // LANA Health and Wellness, an expert in integrative wellness care, has announced the launch of its global franchise model. Known for blending nature's healing principles with modern medical insights, the practice is expanding beyond its flagship location in Princeton, New Jersey. It's now inviting investors, franchisees, and wellness entrepreneurs worldwide to join its mission. 'LANA began as my mission to heal and support people in their journey toward wellness,' says founder and CEO Najma Premnavaz. 'After years of building and refining it from the ground up, I realized this concept was too impactful to keep within the confines of one location. This expansion is about empowering others to take this model and bring integrative healing to their communities.' The newly unveiled franchised model is comprehensive, structured, and rooted in the same standards that have defined LANA's original center. LANA, which stands for life of science (Ayurveda), esthetic treatments, natural products, and advanced technologies, intends to address the complex nuances of operating a holistic wellness center that bridges Eastern and Western modalities. The model aims to establish 15 centers across the United States in key urban markets including, but not limited to, New York, California, Florida, Virginia, and Texas. These locations will serve as proof points that demonstrate the viability and adaptability of LANA's integrative approach in diverse markets. They'll also pave the way for international replication through master franchising, particularly in Asia and the Middle East, where Premnavaz has already received significant interest. Each franchisee will own their location and receive an extensive franchise package, which includes proprietary business documentation, training for management and staff, operational procedures, marketing strategy guidance, and access to LANA's exclusive line of sustainable wellness products, Naturalz New York. Franchisees will also benefit from LANA's methodology and a flexible royalty structure that balances entrepreneurial independence and brand integrity. To accommodate varying investor capacities and real estate availability, LANA offers three tiers of franchising opportunities. The most expansive option, LANA Lux, spans approximately 2,000 square feet and includes six to seven treatment rooms. It's ideal for high-traffic areas or wellness-focused communities. For mid-sized ventures, the LANA Wellness Loft offers 1,200 to 1,500 square feet of space with four treatment rooms. Meanwhile, the most accessible tier, LANA Pure Pod, is a compact model designed for smaller communities or single-owner operations. With two treatment rooms across 800 to 1,000 square feet, it offers a streamlined entry into the wellness market. Premnavaz developed this franchising structure to accommodate various investment levels while ensuring that each center remains true to LANA's dedication to integrating beauty, health, and wellness through thoughtful and natural care. LANA fulfills this mission through its comprehensive services. The practice offers oncology spa services to support individuals undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment. These services include facials, massages, and body therapies. They're all carefully tailored to help address the unique physical and emotional needs that arise during chemotherapy and radiation. LANA's trained estheticians and therapists utilize gentle, non-invasive techniques and natural, nourishing ingredients to ease skin sensitivities, reduce stress, and promote healing. LANA also offers treatments such as lymphatic drainage massage, Shirodhara, Pizhichil, and foot reflexology to offer holistic benefits. Its Ayurvedic treatments focus on restoring mind-body balance using personalized herbal remedies, dietary guidance, and practices like yoga and meditation, all based on an individual's dosha. For those seeking long-term beauty enhancements, LANA provides advanced hair treatments like PRP, LED therapy, and laser cap technology. It also offers advanced skincare treatments individually tailored to clients, aiming to reduce chronic issues such as rosacea, hyperpigmentation, or acne. Permanent cosmetic procedures are offered to enhance natural features or conceal imperfections. Overall, these services are crafted to help individuals find relief and nurture hope. LANA's expansion strategy reinforces its commitment to redefining what it means to care for the whole person, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, across cultures and continents. As the practice opens its doors to new investors and partners, it welcomes a global community to be part of a movement that prioritizes sustainable self-care, nature-based healing, and integrative health, helping people heal better and feel better. Development impact bonds: a possible solution to curb learning poverty in Pakistan
'One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen can change the world.' Malala Yousafzai Education is a transformative force that empowers individuals, reduces social inequalities, combats poverty, and contributes to a more sustainable development. Given the significance of education for a nation, URAAN Pakistan has taken various initiatives to improve the educational indicators like education spending, net primary enrolment, completion rate, equitable accessibility to higher education and to improve literacy rate by 10 percent. URAAN Pakistan structured around the '5Es' framework is the foundation of the National Economic Transformation Plan (2024–2029). To make a brighter future for education in Pakistan possible, an evidence-based decision and policymaking is indispensable. Databases like District Education Performance Index (DEPIx, 2023) and the Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (LANA 2023) can serve the purpose. Data reveal that the challenge in Pakistan is not merely about getting children into schools, but ensuring students acquire meaningful and impactful learning in the classroom. The policy implementation heavily relies on input and activities rather than actual learning outcomes. The recent figures indicate that over 25.3 million children remain out-of-school, and 79 percent of students falls under learning poverty; a student unable to read and understand a basic sentence by the age of 10. The findings of the DEPIx report, developed by the Planning Commission, show a national average score of just 53.46, which places the country in the 'Low' performance category, across five domains in 134 districts. In parallel, the recent report of LANA conducted under the supervision of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), shows that Pakistan's average reading scores range between 318 and 343, with only 55 percent of students reaching the 'Basic International Benchmark' in reading. While, in mathematics, the average scores fall between 368 and 39, which is below the minimum international benchmark of 400. Only 1 percent of students achieve the high benchmark (550), while 71 percent scored only at the basic level (325). This indicates that more than half of the students fall below the 25th percentile, reflecting the urgency of addressing learning poverty. These findings in the education sector imply that achieving a desired learning outcomes is still a distant dream. In this context, there is an urgent need to shift from input focused policies and planning to an outcome driven approach. In this regard, one promising solution is the adoption of Development Impact Bonds (DIBs), a results-based financing mechanism that links funding to measurable outcomes rather than to inputs or activities. In a DIB model, private investors provide upfront capital to implement educational interventions, and governments or donors repay the investment only when an independent evaluator approves that the predefined learning outcomes have been achieved. This model has shown positive results in countries like India with the Educate Girls DIB, in the UK with the Education Outcomes Fund, and in the US with the 'Abt Associates' early childhood education, all improving educational outcomes than the traditional interventions. This model not only ensures accountability but also encourages innovation and efficiency in service delivery. Pakistan is well-positioned to pilot Impact Bonds in the education sector. Datasets sources such as DEPIx and LANA provide baseline data to set performance targets and evaluate progress. The districts performing poorly in learning outcomes, especially those in Sindh, Balochistan, and southern Punjab can be targeted for pilot interventions. Donor agencies such as the World Bank, USAID, and the Asian Development Bank, already engaged in Pakistan's education reform, can act as outcome funders, while NGOs and ed-tech providers may serve as implementing partners, working together to improve quality in education. In this regard, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, provincial departments, and planning bodies can realign their priorities to reflect the reality that learning is the most important goal of schooling. Moreover, education policy evaluation, which has historically been rare in Pakistan, should become a regular part of planning and budgeting cycles. In a nutshell, Pakistan's education emergency is not a crisis of ability but a crisis of governance, policy, and accountability. The findings from DEPIx and LANA are not only a wake-up call but also serve as a foundation for building a roadmap for educational improvement. They show us that while infrastructure and access have seen modest gains, but the real bottlenecks lie in the learning outcomes. Addressing these challenges requires more than progressive reforms. It demands a paradigm shift in how education is financed, delivered, and measured. Impact Bonds offer a potential solution, emphasizing accountability, data-driven decision-making, and a focus on tangible results. In a nation with millions of children lacking quality education, such innovation is not merely a choice—it is a necessity. SZA Jokes About Potential ‘One Of Them Days' Sequel: 'Keke's Tired Of Me'
SZA would love to revisit her on-screen other half in a sequel to One of Them Days, but would co-star Keke Palmer? The rapper and singer recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! amid promoting her forthcoming co-headlining stadium tour, the Grand National Tour, with Super Bowl collaborator Kendrick Lamar, which kicks off April 19 in Minneapolis, Minn. and lasts through Aug. 9. More from Deadline Walton Goggins Reveals He Was Bitten During That 'White Lotus' Snake Scene Ben Stiller Says Barack Obama Turned Down Lumon Building Voice Role In 'Severance' Season 2: "I Don't Think I Have Time" NAACP Image Awards: Keke Palmer Named Entertainer Of The Year; 'The Six Triple Eight' Best Motion Picture - Full Winners List When asked by host Jimmy Kimmel if the film's creative team was already brainstorming a follow-up, the LANA songwriter initially balked before playfully adding, 'Keke's tired of me. She's gotta be.' The Grammy winner continued, 'But she's chock-full of energy. I would be so honored to be involved in anything that they did again. I would just literally just try way harder knowing what's at stake; people will be watching, and I can play into that.' The R-rated buddy comedy with heart features Palmer and SZA as two opposites who attract — respectively Type A and Type B roommates whose time to recoup their rent money, after the latter's no-good beau steals it, dwindles precipitously in inverse proportion to their hijinks. Written by Insecure and Rap Sh!t scribe Syreeta Singleton and directed by Lawrence Lamont, the project was produced by Issa Rae. A success at the box office, One of Them Days is still showing in theaters since its Jan. 17 release date. The film marked SZA's entry into the acting sphere, following her acquaintance with Palmer during their respective musical guest and hosting gigs for Saturday Night Live in 2022.
