MRI facility opened at LNJP Hospital
Patna: Health minister Mangal Pandey on Monday inaugurated the MRI facility at Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital in Rajvanshinagar, Patna. The service will be available to the general public from July 8 at a rate 6% lower than that prescribed by the CGHS. The minister said the facility was developed at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore. Pandey also announced that the country's largest 400-bed neuro and orthopaedic hospital, being constructed in Patna, would be ready within the next two months. The hospital is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 215 crore. "A dedicated sports injury unit will also be launched soon," he said. D igha MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia was present at the event. Pandey said under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, patients at LNJP Hospital receive free treatment worth Rs 1.5 crore annually. He also extended his best wishes to LNJP director Dr Subhash Chandra on his retirement. "He has served the public diligently as a doctor for the past 18 years," the minister said.

Delhi hospitals see spike in cases of heat-related illnesses

At the Delhi government-run LNJP Hospital, authorities have designated a separate area for patients who are working under the sun. 'The patients coming in are rickshaw-pullers, drivers, labourers, mostly those who are engaged in manual work. Patients come in with complaints of abdominal pain, vomitting, dehydration, dizziness. These cases have increases in the last three days,' the official added. Concurring with the LNJP official, Dr Mukesh Mehra, senior director of internal medicine at Max Super Speciality Hospital, said patients of heatwave mainly experience symptoms like include dizziness, dry flushed skin, disorientation, and gastrointestinal discomfort. He stressed that recognising the symptoms and implementing preventive measures is very important. Doctors warned that elderly individuals, children, and those with chronic conditions are particularly at risk and should take extra precautions. A red alert, the most severe warning level, was issued for Delhi as the city experiences an extreme heatwave, with temperatures rising between 40.9 and 45.0 degrees Celsius this week. 'Precautionary measures such as staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during peak hours, wearing light and loose clothing, eating light meals, and remaining in cool environments, must be followed,' Kumar added. CT scan and MRI facilities to start soon in Delhi Government hospitals
Good news for people living in Delhi: The Delhi government is soon going to start CT scan and MRI facilities in its government hospitals. Health Minister Pankaj Singh has confirmed that the necessary process for launching these services is already day, thousands of patients visit government hospitals in Delhi for treatment. City's first medical genetics dept. set up in LNJP Hospital; CM inaugurates unit
Delhi's first Medical Genetics department and the fourth such unit in the country has been set up in the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital. While inaugurating the department on Thursday, CM Rekha Gupta said, 'There are lakhs of parents scrambling to save their children who are born with genetic disorders. They do not know where to go. This department will treat those children who are born with such disorders.' Ms. Gupta also inaugurated a Lactation Management Unit (LMU), and Nucleic Acid Amplification Testing (NAT) Lab in the hospital. Regarding the Lactation Management Unit (LMU), she said that the unit is designed to serve preterm, low-birth-weight, and critically ill new-borns. It will offer breastfeeding counselling, safe milk collection and storage, and hospital-grade breast pumps for mothers. 'Our goal is to ensure accessible, high-quality, and timely medical services for every citizen—regardless of age, background, or region. A healthy Delhi is the foundation of a developed Delhi. With this vision, three highly advanced health services have been launched, setting a new milestone in the city's medical infrastructure,' Ms. Gupta said. This is the first Delhi government hospital to have a NAT Lab, she said, adding that screening reports, which used to take 45 days, will be available within two days here. The NAT is a highly sensitive diagnostic method capable of detecting viral infections like HIV, Hepatitis B, and C at an early stage. The CM also criticised the state of the healthcare infrastructure that the BJP government inherited from previous government, calling it 'deeply concerning.' She added that while the World Health Organisation recommends a minimum of two beds per 1,000 population, not even one bed per 1,000 citizens is available in the Capital. She said that the Delhi government aims to ensure at least three beds per 1,000 people within the next five years.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta inaugurates three healthcare projects at LNJP hospital
New Delhi [India], May 29 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated three major healthcare initiatives at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital, which aim to strengthen the capital's public health infrastructure. Addressing media persons during the visit, Gupta said the new Medical Genetics Department inaugurated at LNJP is the first of its kind in Delhi and only the fourth in the country. 'Today, we visited Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital and inaugurated three new projects. One, Medical Genetics is the fourth in the nation, and the first in Delhi, which will treat those children who are born with genetic disorders.' She added, ' Here, the doctors will be able to diagnose the genetic disorder with just a drop of blood. Second, we inaugurated the NAT testing lab. The testing of the donor's blood used to take 45 days; for the first time in Delhi, the donor's blood can be tested in 2 days. We have also inaugurated the Lactation Management Unit.' Meanwhile, Delhi CM visited the SU Block Park in Pitampura on Wednesday, unveiling Rs 25 crore development projects as part of her 'Sewa ke Sau Din' initiative. Marking 100 days in office, she vowed to transform the area with improved facilities and increased hospital beds, promising a new era of progress for the community. Addressing the Public gathering, CM Gupta said, 'When I became a Municipal Councillor in 2007, we gradually developed this park. When I was here last year on the 26 January programme, I saw that the condition of this park had deteriorated. I promised that, whether I gain a post or not, I would make sure that work on this park is done.' 'With your blessings, you have made me not an MLA but the Delhi Chief Minister... Development work of around Rs 25 crore is currently ongoing in Pitampura. This is just the beginning...,' she added. Gupta highlighted the completion of 100 days of her government's service and the upcoming presentation of a progress report titled 'Sewa ke Sau Din. 'We are completing 100 days of service on 30th May, and on 31st May, we will present our report, 'Sewa ke Sau Din', and I'm proud to present the work we've accomplished in this period,' she added.
