Two accused of child exploitation arrested in joint investigation
ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Two people accused of exploiting children have been arrested as the result of a multi-agency investigation in St. Tammany Parish. Multi-agency drug investigation leads to Houma area arrest Over the course of several days, the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit, FBI agents and St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office deputies partnered together for the investigation. Troopers said this led to the arrests of 23-year-old Caden A. Rampino and 25-year-old Justin K. Dixon on June 25. The two were booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on charges of indecent behavior with juveniles and computer aided solicitation of a minor. The incident remains under investigation, according to authorities. Zul-Qarnain Kwame Natambuj, arrested Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl performer, was shot at by Antonio Brown
Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, a 41-year-old New Orleans resident, has been arrested for his actions during the Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl LIX halftime show. The background performer was seen bringing up a Sudanese flag bearing the message 'Sudan and Free Gaza' in a sign of protest 'and disrupted the halftime show by running across the field with the flag'. Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu was arrested on Thursday(X) 'We take any attempt to disrupt any part of an NFL game, including the halftime show, very seriously and are pleased this individual will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,' NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in a statement. On February 9, during Lamar's Super Bowl LIX halftime show at the Caesars Superdome, Nantambu, hired as an extra performer, disrupted the performance by running across the field with a Sudanese flag. The Louisiana State Police (LSP) arrested him on Thursday, charging him with resisting an officer and disturbing the peace by interruption of a lawful assembly, per a press release. Nantambu, authorized to be on the field, deviated from his role, ignored security commands, and was apprehended after a chase. He surrendered after an arrest warrant was issued and was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center, authorities said. Antonio Brown Shooting Incident On May 16,, Nantambu was allegedly shot at by former NFL player Antonio Brown during an altercation outside an amateur boxing event in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood. Brown, 36, reportedly grabbed a security guard's handgun and fired two shots at Nantambu after a fistfight, with one bullet grazing his neck. Nantambu told The New York Post that Brown thought he'd 'get a free kill' under Florida's 'Stand Your Ground' law, citing a prior dispute over a stolen pendant in Dubai in 2022. The former NFL star now faces a second-degree attempted murder charge, carrying up to 15 years in prison. Brown is yet to respond to the latest revelations.

Woman struck, killed by vehicle on Laplace highway
LAPLACE, La. (WGNO) — A Laplace woman is dead following a crash in St. John the Baptist Parish. According to Louisiana State Police, around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, troopers responded to the scene of a crash on US Highway 61 near Carrollwood Drive. Moments of heavy rain expected Monday Troopers said an investigation revealed that 71-year-old Cecilia Adams attempted to walk across the north bound lanes of the highway, outside of a designated crosswalk while wearing dark clothing. That's when a Nissan Rogue, heading south, reportedly made a U-turn on the highway, striking Adams. She was taken to a hospital where she later died from her injuries. Troopers said the driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time and was not injured. They add that there were no signs of impairment. The crash remains under investigation. Authorities raid home where New Orleans jail escapee appeared to shoot video pleading for help: source
Authorities have raided the residence where one of the two remaining escapees from a New Orleans jail apparently shot an Instagram video proclaiming his innocence, according to a source close to the investigation. Antoine Massey, 33, was not located during the raid, the source told Fox News. Authorities found clothes belonging to Massey at the residence, according to the Associated Press, who cited an anonymous official. Police were reportedly tipped off by Massey's relatives, who recognized the home. In a now-deleted video from an Instagram account, Massey appeared to tell viewers that he didn't break out of jail on May 16, but instead that he was let out. "I'm asking for help from the world," the man said. "From Meek Mills, Lil Wayne, YoungBoy, Donald Trump. I'm asking for these people. I couldn't even get a lawyer. I couldn't afford a lawyer to prove my innocence." In the video, he also denied ever threatening Sterling Williams, 33, a jail maintenance worker employed by the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office. Williams was arrested for allegedly aiding in the 10-man escape, but told police he was coerced into helping under threat of being "shanked." He said maintenance workers were only allowed near inmates if they were guarded by a deputy. "If the individual depicted in the video is indeed Antoine Massey, we strongly urge him to come forward and turn himself in to the proper authorities," she said. "Cooperating with law enforcement is in his best interest and may help avoid additional charges. It is important that justice is served appropriately and that due process is followed." The Louisiana State Police (LSP) declined to verify the authenticity of the video, saying that doing so "may hinder investigative leads or law enforcement operations." Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill's office also declined to comment. The FBI did not return a comment request. Nineteen days ago, 10 men escaped from the Orleans Parish Justice Facility through a hole behind a toilet in their cell. They hopped the jail's barbed-wire fence to freedom. Search Continues For Four-time Killer, Serial Escapee After New Orleans Jailbreak Over the past two-and-half weeks, LSP has led the manhunt to capture the escapees, with help from local and federal partners. So far, eight of the men have been brought back into custody. Derrick Groves, 28, a four-time killer, is the only other inmate besides Massey who has not been captured. He was being held in the jail while awaiting sentencing for an October 2024 guilty verdict in a double homicide during Mardi Gras in 2018. After he was convicted, he pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter. Massey was in jail pending a trial on charges of domestic abuse involving strangulation, theft of a motor vehicle and a parole violation. This is the fourth time that Massey has escaped from police custody. Massey's sister, 31-year-old Daishanae Massey, is one of 14 people who have been arrested for allegedly aiding the escapees either before or after they broke out of the jail.
