La Concha Resort in Puerto Rico joins Marriott Bonvoy's Autograph Collection portfolio
Marriott International's hotel brands portfolio, Autograph Collection, has expanded in Puerto Rico, with the addition of La Concha Resort, a beachfront destination in San Juan. The development makes La Concha Resort the first Autograph Collection Hotel in Puerto Rico. The Autograph Collection is a premium tier within the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio comprising over 30 hotel brands. The milestone coincides with the completion of a comprehensive $80.2m property-wide renovation of the resort. The renovation features the introduction of the transformed Suite Tower, now having 238 redesigned rooms and suites. This revamp, executed by Celano Design, has improved the resort's accommodations, with a focus on modern elegance and the oceanfront locale. The suites feature spacious living and bedroom areas, custom marble flooring in residential-style bathrooms, private balconies, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The design incorporates a calming colour palette and a statement sculpture that pays homage to Puerto Rican flora, enhancing the tropical-modern aesthetic of La Concha Resort. La Concha Resort general manager Mike Rivera said: 'This is a landmark moment for La Concha Resort and for Puerto Rico's premium hospitality scene. Immigration Raid on Paulson Puerto Rico Hotel Ensnares 53 People
An immigration raid on a luxury Puerto Rico hotel partially owned by billionaire investor John Paulson led the US Department of Homeland Security to arrest dozens of construction workers from the Dominican Republic. Some 53 workers, all presumed to be undocumented, were working at the La Concha Resort in San Juan, but weren't hotel employees, Special Agent Rebecca Gonzalez-Ramos told reporters Thursday in San Juan. She declined to name the construction company the team worked for.
