RetinalGenix Technologies Contracts with LabCorp to Support DNA/GPS Platform for Advanced Genetic and Retinal Health Screening

APOLLO BEACH, Fla., June 27, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- RetinalGenix Technologies Inc. OTCQB:RTGN ('RetinalGenix' or the 'Company'), a pioneering developmental-stage company focused on ophthalmic screening, monitoring, pharmacogenetic mapping, and repurposed drug development for early detection and treatment of eye and systemic diseases, has entered into an agreement with LabCorp, one of the nation's largest laboratory services organizations, to support the rollout of the RetinalGenix DNA/RNA/GPS Pharmaco-Genetic Mapping™ platform. This innovative program enables patients to undergo genetic testing and high-resolution retinal imaging anonymously and provide insights into both ocular and systemic diseases. Through this collaboration, patients may visit any USA-based LabCorp location to have blood, tears, nasal secretions, and saliva collected and analyzed using proprietary algorithms developed by the RetinalGenix and DNA/RNA GPS analysis platform. These tests may correlate genetic and retinal biomarkers seeking to establish a new standard for early detection of a wide range of health conditions. Based on tests recommended by RetinalGenix, patients may elect to have their data analyzed using specific algorithms developed by RetinalGenix. This process is paired with DNA/RNA/GPS to correlate with current and future biomarkers found in the eye and the blood. Dr. Larry Perich, DO, Advisor for the DNA/RNA/GPS program, noted, 'As the database of disease-associated biomarkers expands, we expect the value of these platforms for diagnosing both ocular and systemic diseases continues to grow, promising improved outcomes and more accessible care.' Patients maintain full control of their health records, which remain anonymous and confidential. Appointments and test orders are managed via the RetinalGenix online platform, with results securely released to patients upon validation of payment at their chosen LabCorp center. Dr. Taimour Langaee, PhD, oversees the Company's DNA/GPS genotyping/sequencing data processing, genetic and pharmacogenomics data analyses, and clinical genetic association studies between eye diseases and genetic variations. Dr. Langaee said, 'I am excited that this creates great opportunities to further expand our knowledge about the important role of genetics and precision medicine in eye diseases, affecting millions of people and the potential to discover novel genetic variants and treatments.' High-resolution retinal imaging will be introduced by RetinalGenix as a value-added additional service at various locations in the near future. The integration of high-resolution imaging is expected to further boost diagnostic accuracy, allowing even general practitioners and standard eye clinics to assist in patient mass screening. These innovations are designed to make screening more accessible, cost-effective, and capable of detecting disease at earlier, more treatable stages. 'The cost of healthcare is enormous, and patient access is critical. This cost-effective methodology aims to reduce reliance on expensive diagnostic procedures such as MRIs, CT scans, PET Scans, echocardiograms to name a few, helping to alleviate the financial burden on both patients and the healthcare system. Equally important is avoiding the use of high-priced specialists to perform basic eye care services. The company is actively collaborating with regulators to establish CPT codes, which should lower healthcare costs and improve access to necessary evaluations. By doing so, the already overburdened patient assessment process can be streamlined,' stated Jerry Katzman, MD, RetinalGenix Technologies CEO. About RetinalGenix RetinalGenix is an ophthalmic research and development company seeking to revolutionize early disease detection and improve patient outcomes across multiple disease areas by integrating genetic screening, advanced imaging, and therapeutic development. Its proprietary High-Resolution Retinal Imaging and RetinalGenix DNA/RNA/GPS Pharmaco-Genetic Mapping™ technologies are designed to help prevent blindness by detecting initial physiological changes that could indicate future ocular and systemic diseases affecting neurodegenerative, cardiovascular, vascular, and metabolic systems, as well as diabetic conditions, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. RetinalGenix is also developing therapeutic drugs for dry age-related macular degeneration (dry AMD) and Alzheimer's disease/dementia. ‘I killed two people': Witness reports abrupt confession from woman who crashed into trooper, causing serious injuries

CHICOPEE — The Springfield woman who allegedly plowed into a trooper conducting a traffic stop Tuesday morning told her employer and the police that she had been attacked at a convenience store by several women and that her car was stolen. This is according to court records associated with the arrest of Naisha L. Rodriguez, 32, of Springfield. She was arraigned in Chicopee District Court Wednesday morning after being charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol causing serious injury, intimidating a witness, leaving the scene of a crash and falsely reporting a stolen vehicle. She pleaded not guilty to the charges and was held on $500,000 cash bail. The parking lot of the courthouse was filled with state police cruisers; troopers packed the courtroom in support of their injured comrade. Investigators say Rodriguez was driving her work-issued Subaru in the westbound lane of the Massachusetts Turnpike around 2:20 a.m. near Chicopee, and veered into the trooper, who had a tractor trailer pulled over in the breakdown lane. A witness called 911, and colleagues of the trooper came to his aid. 'Troopers arrived on scene and located (the injured trooper) severely wounded and bleeding extensively from his arm in front of the tractor trailer,' a police narrative reads. While Rodriguez fled the scene, state police detectives gathered video footage from around the region to track Rodriguez's movements before and after the crash, according to the report. Her cover story about the alleged attack and car theft was quickly debunked, the records say. Video footage showed Rodriguez went to Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer around 1:15 a.m., leaving 20 minutes later. The Subaru did not appear to have any body damage. Less than an hour later, the footage told a different story. The trooper's dash-cam video shows him walking along the driver's side of the tractor trailer. 'Once out of view, a white Subaru ... is seen moments later driving in the right lane before a witness, who was standing on the passenger side of (the cruiser), is seen running toward the direction of (the trooper),' records say. Footage from the city of Chicopee then showed the Subaru exiting I-90 with 'extensive' passenger side damage, then idling in a nearby Walmart parking lot and heading toward Springfield a few minutes later. The vehicle was registered to LabCorp in Holyoke, investigators found. Troopers spoke with a manager there, who confirmed that the Subaru was assigned to Rodriguez exclusively. He also said Rodriguez called him at 4:30 a.m. to report five women had cut her off at a 'Cumbies,' pulled her from the car and stole it. The manager said Rodriguez had been an employee only for 10 months and had already been involved in two motor vehicle incidents. 'One of which occurred on May 29, 2025, when she also stated she was attacked and had her vehicle stolen. She was given the Subaru Outback after the incident,' the police narrative states. Rodriguez doubled down on the stolen car story by also making a report to the Springfield Police Department, records show. She told a responding officer a woman named 'Dixie' attacked her but she did not know why. 'I observed multiple injuries to Ms. Rodriguez for this incident. She suffered a black eye on her left side, bleeding from her lower lip and scratches on both sides of her arms,' a Springfield police report says. Rodriguez refused an ambulance. A witness told police that Rodriguez called her six times between midnight and 6 a.m. that morning. 'After Witness 1 returned her call, Rodriguez stated she just killed two people and hung up. Rodriguez is known to drink excessively,' a trooper recounted in the police report. Investigators ultimately found the Subaru on Windemere Street in Springfield. The windshield was marked with pieces of a high visibility patrol jacket and had pieces of flesh clinging to the underside of the side quarter panel, which was torn back, according to the report. Briefing reporters on Monday outside Baystate Medical Center on Tuesday, Col. Geoffrey Noble of the Massachusetts State Police said the injured trooper will have a long road to recovery but was in good spirits. Investigators later arrived at Rodriguez's Tulsa Street home and spoke with her, the report says. 'Investigators immediately observed a strong odor of alcohol emanating from Rodriguez's breath as she spoke with a very slurred voice,' the report says. 'Rodriguez incoherently repeated over and over a story about being beat up and having her car stolen.' There was an empty nip bottle on the floor of her living room, which she quickly swatted away, the report adds. Rodriguez refused to go to the state police office at Tower Square in downtown Springfield and asked troopers to leave. They later returned with an arrest warrant. A pretrial hearing in the case is set for July 10. Read the original article on MassLive.

Worried About Your Health? Discover the Best STD Testing Services in Tampa

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are a major concern for many people, but unfortunately, they often go undiagnosed due to a lack of awareness or reluctance to seek help. If you're in Tampa, understanding where to access reliable and affordable STD testing Tampa services can be a huge step toward maintaining your health. In this article, we'll discuss why STD testing is crucial, what to look for in testing services, and the best options available in Tampa. Untreated STDs can lead to long-term health issues, including infertility, chronic pain, and in some cases, even death. The symptoms are not always obvious, which is why regular testing is essential for everyone who is sexually active. Knowing your status not only helps you protect yourself but also ensures you don't unintentionally spread STDs to others. A common barrier to getting tested is the fear of judgment or stigma. It's important to remember that STD testing is a responsible and proactive step toward safeguarding your health and that of your partners. Health professionals are there to help, not to judge, and testing should be viewed as a normal part of staying healthy. The most important factor when choosing an STD testing service is confidentiality. A reputable service should prioritize your privacy, ensuring that your results and personal information are protected at all times. Getting accurate and timely results is crucial. You should look for services that offer quick turnaround times, ideally within 24-48 hours, and use certified laboratories that adhere to the highest standards of testing accuracy. Not all STDs are the same, and different testing services offer different panels of tests. Ensure that the service you choose offers a comprehensive panel that includes tests for a range of common STDs, including HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, herpes, and hepatitis. The staff should be professional, knowledgeable, and, most importantly, compassionate. You should feel comfortable and respected during the entire process. The process is straightforward, and the results will help you take control of your health. When you arrive for your test, the healthcare provider will explain the process and ask about your sexual health history. Depending on the type of test, you may need to provide a urine sample, blood sample, or a swab. The testing process is typically quick and not painful. For the most accurate results, it's a good idea to avoid sexual activity for a period before the test. Some services may also recommend that you refrain from certain activities, such as douching or urinating right before the test. Once you receive your test results, it's important to understand what they mean. If your results come back positive, don't panic. Many STDs are treatable, and your healthcare provider will walk you through the next steps for treatment or referrals. If your results come back negative, it's important to remember that this only reflects your status at the time of testing. You should continue to get tested regularly and practice safe sex to reduce the risk of exposure to STDs in the future. Using condoms or dental dams during sex is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of STDs. Make sure to use protection with every partner, regardless of their sexual orientation or whether they show symptoms. Vaccines are available for certain STDs, such as HPV and hepatitis B.
