EastEnders star Lacey Turner celebrates lookalike daughter's 6th birthday after stepping away from soap

LACEY Turner celebrated her eldest daughter Dusty's sixth birthday with a sweet Care Bares-themed party - and shared a peek inside on social media. The EastEnders star, 37, took to Instagram to post photos from the day, revealing the impressive set up and her little girl's huge birthday cake. 4 4 Another snap showed Lacey and husband Matt Kay standing with Dusty as she blew out her candles. Lacey, who also shares Trilby, three, and Gypsy, six months, with 36-year-old Matt, wrote alongside her upload: 'Happy 6th birthday to the one who made me a mummy! 'I love you more than you'll ever know! Thank you to all the people that made her day so special.' Lacey recently opened up on motherhood and its challenges. She said: "The world today leads you to believe that the most expensive option is the best option, but that's not the case. "I want people to know that being frugal is nothing to be ashamed of, it's a skill. "We don't dress our children in designer clothes, it's perfectly okay to dress your children in high street clothes. "It's crazy in the world we're living in that people are saving up to be parents.' In May we revealed how Lacey is set to take some time off from EastEnders to focus on family life and other projects. Lacey told the Sun: 'It's time for myself and Stacey to take a rest and who knows what Stacey will get up to in her time away? Knowing Stacey, it will never be boring." A soap insider said: "Lacey made the decision last year to take some time out from the show, she's had a busy year both on and off screen, so it feels a good time to give Stacey a rest. "Lacey loves EastEnders, and it's no secret how much EastEnders love Lacey, so it's not a question of if she will be back, but when.' Just weeks after giving birth, she returned from maternity leave to play her part in Martin Fowler's exit scenes in the show's live episode. And Lacey's character Stacey Slater left fans in tears as she said an emotional goodbye to Martin in February. In heartbreaking scenes he proposed and planned the next 40 years of their lives before the paramedics told Stacey that he would likely not survive his injuries. 4

Legendary EastEnders star confirms epic return to Walford 19 years on from soap debut - promising 'unresolved drama and plenty of chaos'

EastEnders favourite Jake Wood has confirmed that he will be reprising his role as Max Branning. The British actor, 52, who last appeared on screen in February 2021, said he is 'over the moon to be coming home to Walford'. He said: 'I'm over the moon to be coming home to Walford. Max has got lots of unresolved drama with many characters, so I'm sure he'll be busy. 'I'm excited to see what he's been up to, and what is next for the character, but if his last 15 years in the Square are anything to go by, I'm sure there will be plenty of chaos.' Max is reportedly set to return to the BBC soap in autumn, before making a permanent return later in the year. During his first stint on the soap, Jake became a fan favourite amongst viewers, with his character Max being at the heart of several huge storylines. The 2007 Christmas Day episode where it was revealed that Max had an affair with his daughter-in-law Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) has become known as one of the most chaotic festive specials ever. According to The Mirror, Max will return to Albert Square to find his daughter Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa), who is expected to marry into the Beales, Stacey, who is widowed, and a secret daughter with ex-lover Linda, yet to be discovered. Speaking on the Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2, Jake said his return to the show was 'quite emotional' and felt 'like a very warm hug'. He said: 'I just felt like it was the right time. I spoke to so many people there, they're just loving being there at the moment, 'I had a meeting with the new executive, Ben Wadey, back in January, and we went for lunch, and he just sort of outlined all of his ideas. He continued: 'There's just so many characters that Max has got drama with, so it felt like the right time to go back and mix things up a bit.' Jake went on to say that his character's return will be a dramatic one before adding that it also won't be 'friendly and warm'. EastEnders executive producer Ben said: 'I'm delighted to welcome the immensely talented Jake Wood back to the role of Max Branning. 'Whilst his character has only been away from Albert Square for four years, Walford, and the lives of those who live in it, have changed immensely. 'Max has a lot of unfinished business, but whether he is welcomed by his family remains to be seen. 'However, with a past as chequered as Max's, it's fair to say that many Walford residents will not be pleased to see him, putting the Brannings back at the heart of the square, and the drama, this year.' Jake left EastEnders on February 19, 2021, bringing an end to a long 15-year run on the show. His character Max left Albert Square after burning bridges with many of his family and friends, and he joined his daughter Lauren and grandson Louie in New Zealand. However, since Jake's final scenes aired in early 2021, he has certainly been keeping himself busy as he launched a podcast and starred in West End show 2:22: A Ghost Story. EastEnders airs on BBC One from Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm.

EastEnders' Stacey left spooked as a man lurks outside - but there's a twist

EastEnders' Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) has been tying herself in knots trying to hide the huge secret from cousin Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) that she recently had contact with her daughter Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) – but she has another thing to worry about next week. Walford's resident baps enthusiast is spooked when a mysterious man starts lurking outside her home in forthcoming scenes. The unknown figure turns up just as Stacey has deployed a scheme to wind up Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) about his plans to buy The Queen Vic pub from Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe). After Ian lords his decision to purchase the boozer over Stacey and Kat, he later finds out Stacey's won £100k on a scratch card and she intends to enter the race to bid for The Vic, leaving him furious. However, Stacey's joy at Ian's fury is short-lived when she spies a man outside No. 31 and believes he is a bailiff – likely because Zoe has been racking up credit card debt in Stacey's name. However, there is further intrigue when Stacey and her best mate Eve Panesar-Unwin (Heather Peace) find out he actually works for an insurance company. What could this mystery man want with Stacey? And could he be holding good news, rather than bad? After the awful few years Stacey has had – including losing her beloved soulmate Martin Fowler (James Bye) – let's hope it's the former… Actress Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey, recently announced she will be leaving EastEnders later this year. Inside Soap Awards 2025 nominations are REVEALED with iconic category set to make surprise return after six years

The nominations for the 2025 Inside Soap Awards have been revealed, with one category set to make a surprise return after six years away. After a string of iconic characters have bid farewell in recent months, bosses have brought back the Best Exit award. A whole host of gripping storylines and showstopping moments, along with the iconic characters at the forefront of them, lead this year's nominations. These include Corrie's Debbie being diagnosed with dementia, Phil's mental health struggles in EastEnders, Robert crashing Aaron and John's wedding in Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks ' hard-hitting teen sexual exploitation plot. It comes at a time where many of TV's biggest soaps are facing huge shake-ups, with ITV favourites Coronation Street and Emmerdale set to have their weekly episode counts slashed in 2026. Once again, a string of big names will battle it out for Best Actor, including Corrie's Jack P Shepherd, Emmerdale's Danny Miller and EastEnders' Steve McFadden. Meanwhile nominees for Best Actress include Corrie's Sue Devanet, EastEnders' Lacey Turner, and Hollyoaks' Jennifer Metcalfe. Nominations for Best Storyline once again include Debbie's battle with dementia on Corrie, Phil's mental health struggles in EastEnders, Joe Tate's fight for survival on Emmerdale, and Cleo's shocking abuse ordeal in Hollyoaks. 'The Inside Soap Awards remain the only trophies of their kind to be voted for entirely by the real experts – the soap viewing public,' said Inside Soap magazine editor Sarah Ellis. ' 'Over 90,000 soap fans vote each and every year; and in addition to our list of nominees, our Soap Superstar category allows readers to put forward their own suggestions of who they feel deserves to be honoured. 'The past 12 months have been an epic time in soap, and I can't wait to see who the readers of Inside Soap have decided to crown their favourites this year.' 2025 also sees the return of the Best Exit category, paying tribute to those characters who've either met tragic ends, or moved on to pastures new this year. 'Sadly, we've had to say goodbye to some truly beloved soap characters over the past 12 months,' Sarah said. ''Who didn't cry their eyes out at Martin's shock death during EastEnders' live episode? 'And we're still not over poor Craig's tragic demise in Corrie, or the loss of Leyla and Amy in the devastating Emmerdale limo crash. But it's up to the fans which exit will get their vote.' Voting for the Inside Soap Awards 2025 opens at midday on Tuesday, July 8, and winners will be announced at a star-studded ceremony in London this September. Fans can vote online by visiting or by filling in the voting form in the Inside Soap magazine. The move comes after it was revealed earlier this year how ITV bosses are slashing their soaps' episode count. Emmerdale currently airs six episodes weekly, Monday to Friday with a double bill on Thursdays. Meanwhile, Coronation Street also airs six episodes per week, with two episodes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Next year, only five 30-minute episodes of each show will air - a real terms cut to soap broadcast time of 17%. Bosses will introduce a soaps power hour from Monday to Friday with 30-minute Emmerdale episodes airing at 8pm and 30-minute Coronation Street episodes airing at 8:30pm. However, the start of the new 2026 schedule will at least be marked in style, as both soaps embark on an ambitious, never-before-seen stunt as part of a week of special episodes. Defending the changes, ITV's Managing Director of Media and Entertainment Kevin Lygo said: 'The new commissioning pattern is viewer-led. 'We already give more choice than ever to viewers on how they watch us through ITVX and we want to present their favourite soap to them, in the most digestible way.' 'In a world where there is so much competition for viewers' time and attention, and viewing habits continue to change, we believe this is the right amount of episodes that fans can fit into their viewing schedule, to keep up to date with the shows.' Over on the BBC, fans can watch new episodes of EastEnders from 6am on iPlayer before they're broadcast that evening on BBC One. Coronation Street and Emmerdale humiliated at British Soap Awards as rival soap wins EIGHT gongs

CORONATION Street were brutally snubbed at the 2025 British Soap Awards as they failed to pick up any of the previously announced awards at this year's ceremony. The annual soap event made a return this year after ITV mysteriously axed the contest in 2024 as Jane McDonald returned for her second year as host of the event. 5 5 5 But it was bad news for Coronation Street as the programme suffered a devastating loss after managing to bag just the specially curated Outstanding Achievement Award which went to Roy Cropper star David Neilson. The show failed to secure wins in any of the main panel or viewer-voted categories amid ITV's ongoing cash crisis and the mass cast exodus at the soap over the past six months. Its ITV counterpart Emmerdale also faced a crushing blow ahead of the impending ITV schedule changes which will see 30 minutes worth of each programme cut a week from January 2026. BBC rival EastEnders swept the board after collecting a total of eight gongs in its 40th anniversary year - more than double its nearest rival, Channel 4's Hollyoaks who got three awards. EastEnders was awarded Best Soap after its huge live episode and anniversary week which saw Anita Dobson return as Angie Watts and Martin Fowler killed off in the arms of his love, Stacey. It was certainly not the only award that they picked up with actress Lacey Turner receiving the trophy for Best Leading Performer ahead of her impending exit from the show. The 40th anniversary also managed to clutch the Scene of the Year thanks to Angie's shock return. Steve McFadden a won a trophy for Best Dramatic Performance as Phil Mitchell but did not attend the ceremony with Angela Wynter and Rudolph Walker also receiving prizes as Patrick and Yolande - beating Corrie fan favourites Lisa Swain and Carla Connor, affectionately known as Swarla, to the Best On-Screen Partnership award. The Walford based soap also collected the Comedy Performance gongs and Villain of the Year. In a major blow to Coronation Street, only David Neilson picked up the Outstanding Achievement Award as Roy Cropper which was presented to him by by his on-screen wife Julie Hesmondhalgh. Emmerdale shock return as Aaron's wedding to serial killer is gatecrashed by ex Hollyoaks managed to win three awards with Isabelle Smith winning as Best Newcomer with The Osbourne family taking home Best Family and the sibling sexual abuse storyline being named Best Storyline. Emmerdale managed just two awards with Amelia Flanagan beating her Corrie star brother Will to the Best Young Performer prize. Mike Plant, one of the show's camera operators, picked up the prestigious off-screen Tony Warren Award accolade for his contributions to the soap behind the scenes. ITV's crushing defeats come amid a period of unrest backstage at the shows. Both Corrie and Emmerdale have lost a number of stars over the past 12 months amid cuts at the channel. In particular, Coronation Street has faced increasing criticism of its far-fetched storylines and dwindling viewer interest in many of its plots. Fans will be able to see all the reaction from the ceremony held at the Hackney Empire during the broadcast of the ceremony this Thursday evening on ITV. 5 5
