Turkiye won't be part of stone exhibition in city

1 2 Jaipur: Turkiye always dominated the leading dimensional stone exhibition in Jaipur, but it is not going to be part of the upcoming edition slated for Feb next year. The organiser of Stone Mart, Laghu Udyog Bharti, said on Monday that they reached out to 13 nations, including China, which remained absent in the past two editions of the bi-annual event. Keeping in view the national sentiment against Turkiye after Operation Sindoor and its support to Pakistan, Naresh Pareek, National Secretary of Udyog Bharti, said they did not initiate any talks with the companies of the country. Rather, he mentioned that officials of Chinese companies will participate in the event, and the Union govt has given permission to issue visas to them. "We are not worried about Turkiye's absence. It is up to the central govt whether to invite them or not. We have started booking stalls for 13 foreign nations like Norway, Italy, Iran, and Oman," said Pareek. He added that a lot of Chinese machine manufacturers from China are going to attend the event. "They have developed cutting-edge machinery used in the stone sector. Their participation will add great value to the stone industry," added Pareek. The quality of Indian stones is appreciated in global markets, but due to a lack of marketing and promotional activities, the demand is not as high. "Indian stones are well accepted in global markets, but marketing of products has not been done effectively, which we are trying to address. In the past months, Laghu Udyog Bharti, along with the Centre for Development of Stones (CDOS), participated in international stone exhibitions held in countries like Italy, China, the USA, the UK, and Russia," he said.
