Crash Landing on You fans flock to Swiss village, officials deny cashing in on them
Local leaders and tourism officials in a Swiss village that installed a pay-for-entry turnstile to make money from tourists flocking to a lakeside dock featured in the hit South Korean Netflix series Crash Landing On You insist the village's 406 inhabitants are not getting rich off the influx of visitors.
Visitors pay five Swiss francs (US$6.30) to access the dock.
In 2024, the turnstile brought in nearly 245,000 francs, while a public toilet costing one franc to enter collected about 58,000 francs more, says village clerk Gabriela Blatter.
Proceeds have gone mostly to rubbish disposal, restroom cleaning, additional work hours and custodial staff hires, she says.

Titia Weiland, manager of the Bönigen-Iseltwald Tourism agency, says the funds go right back to village upkeep.
