Bears' Caleb Williams takes savage shot at Packers fans — ‘They suck'
The post Bears' Caleb Williams takes savage shot at Packers fans — 'They suck' appeared first on ClutchPoints. Caleb Williams will not stop reminding fans that he is already 1-0 against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Although only one year into his professional career, the Chicago Bears quarterback had already developed a distaste for his divisional rival's fan base. Williams was one of several athletes to appear at the 2025 Fanatics Fest in New York. The 23-year-old quarterback recalled hating how Packers fans acted after the Bears' Week 18 win in Green Bay during his Q&A segment. 'Green Bay, they suck,' Williams said, via Ryan Garcia of Empire Sports Media. 'I'm 1-0 in Lambeau. After the game, we tried to do the 'Lambeau Leap' in the crowd where our fans were. They started throwing things at you, pushing you off. The Lambeau Leap is a real leap; it's not a baby jump. And they're just pushing you in the face.' The Bears' 24-22 win over the Packers ended a 10-game losing streak that started after their Week 6 bye. Green Bay took the first meeting between the two at Soldier Field, 20-19, making Williams 1-1 against them in his career. Despite coming off a 5-12 season, the Bears have reasonably high expectations in 2025. Chicago made several key adjustments in the offseason, most notably hiring Ben Johnson as its next head coach. Johnson, a renowned offensive coordinator with the Detroit Lions, is expected to catapult Williams' career. Bears-Packers matchups in 2025 The Bears and Packers' two meetings in 2025 will both occur in the second half of the season. The teams will not meet until Week 14, when they reconvene at Lambeau Field. The second meeting will go down just two weeks later in Week 16 at Soldier Field. Given both teams' preseason expectations, the two-game series could carry heavy playoff implications. With the Bears improving dramatically in the 2025 offseason, the NFC North could come down to the wire yet again in 2025. While the Packers have historically dominated the recent series against the Bears, Williams believes the tide will turn with his arrival. Johnson, who went 6-0 against Green Bay with the Lions, presumably feels the same. Chicago fans desperately seek redemption, as the team has not won a game in the series at home since 2018. How many Packers rank among NFL's best draft picks at every draft spot?
In a perfect piece of post-minicamp and pre-training camp content, ESPN's Ben Solak set out to identify the "best NFL draft pick" at every draft slot between No. 1 and No. 262 overall. It was a tough exercise, to be sure, and one that will stir up plenty of debate. How many Green Bay Packers were picked? Probably more than you'll expect, but the big snub is most likely the thing you'll remember from Solak's list. Here are some Packers-related notes from the post: -- Solak picked safety Ed Reed over Aaron Rodgers at No. 24. Interesting choice. Reed might have a case for being the best safety in NFL history, but Rodgers is -- at the very least -- a top-10 NFL quarterback with a Super Bowl title and four MVPs. Tough to argue that this pick should be anyone but Rodgers, a future Hall of Famer and a defining player at the game's toughest and most important position. -- Brett Favre was the easy pick at No. 33. -- At No. 48 overall, LeRoy Butler got the nod over other Hall of Famers Howie Long and Dwight Stevenson. Helping invent the "Lambeau Leap" helped Butler make the list. -- Hall of Fame cornerback Mel Blount was the pick over Davante Adams at No. 53. No arguments here, but Adams might have a better case once his decorated career is over. -- Solak picked receiver Keenan Allen over Ahman Green at No. 76. Green wasn't a draft pick of the Packers, but he ended up as the leading rusher in franchise history. Considering he was a truly elite player during his prime (check his numbers between 2000-2003), Green probably should have been the pick. -- At No. 87, Patriots defensive tackle Tim Goad was the pick over cornerback Mike McKenzie, who intercepted 15 passes over six seasons in Green Bay and finished his career with 28 picks in 11 seasons. -- At No. 90, quarterback Matt Schaub was the pick over receiver Antonio Freeman, one of the most productive pass-catchers in Packers history. -- Packers legend Jimmy Graham was the pick at No. 95. -- Guard Jahri Evans, who played one season in Green Bay, was the easy pick at No. 108. One pick later, left tackle David Bakhtiari was the easy pick at No. 109. They played next to each other during the 2017 season. -- Former Packers coach Kevin Greene was the pick at No. 113. -- Quarterback Mark Brunell, a draft pick of the Packers who went on to be a successful starter in Jacksonville, got the nod at No. 118. -- Bengals cornerback Ken Riley was the pick over guard Josh Sitton at No. 135 overall. -- Running back Dorsey Levens, who produced two 1,000-yard rushing seasons for the Packers, was the pick at No. 149. -- He wasn't picked by the Packers, but cornerback Al Harris was the pick at No. 169. -- Safety Mark Prior, who finished his career with the Packers, was the pick at No. 176. -- Linebacker Rich Wingo, a draft pick of the Packers in 1979, was the pick at No. 184. -- Quarterback Matthew Hasselbeck, a draft pick of the Packers who went on to be a successful starter in Seattle, got the nod at No. 187. -- Kicker Mason Crosby, the franchise's all-time leader in points, was the pick at No. 193. -- Receiver Donald Driver, the franchise's all-time leader in receptions, was the pick at No. 213. -- Receiver Mark Clayton, who played his final NFL season in Green Bay, was the pick at No. 223. -- Quarterback Don Majkowski, the last starting quarterback in Green Bay before the Favre-Rodgers-Love run, was the pick at No. 255.

Caleb Williams doesn't hold back on Packers fans: ‘They suck'
Caleb Williams has only collected one year's worth of NFL experience, but the Bears quarterback has already embraced the franchise's rivalry with the Packers — and the fan base's hatred toward Green Bay. During an appearance at Fanatics Fest on Friday, Williams was asked about negative experiences with fans and mentioned Green Bay before delivering a line that prompted some cheers from the audience. 'I mean, they suck,' Williams said. Advertisement 3 Caleb Williams is pictured at Fanatics Fest on June 20. Getty Images Williams, whom the Bears drafted with the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, won his lone game in front of Packers fans at Lambeau Field during his rookie season, completing 21 of 29 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown during Chicago's 24-22 win. It snapped a 10-game losing streak for the Bears in 2024 and an 11-game losing streak in the rivalry, though they needed a game-winning field goal in the final seconds after Malik Willis — who took over after Jordan Love exited with an injury — sparked a comeback. Advertisement 'After the game … we tried to do the Lambeau Leap, tried to jump into the crowd where our fans were,' Williams said at Fanatics Fest. '[Packers fans] just started throwing everything at you, push you off. The Lambeau Leap, it's a real leap. It's not a little baby jump, you actually have to high jump, basically. And they're pushing you, pushing your face.' 3 Caleb Williams is pictured during the Bears' June 4 practice. AP Williams also led a 'Green Bay sucks' chant last June at Old Crow Smokehouse, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel — even though he grew up watching the Packers because of now-Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Getty Images Chicago hired Ben Johnson as its new head coach in the offseason, and the new-look Bears offense will attempt to help Williams find a consistent rhythm in his second campaign after struggling at times as a rookie — he threw for just 3,541 yards and 20 touchdowns while tossing six interceptions across 17 games. That led to Matt Eberflus being fired, and the Bears pivoted toward landing Johnson — the mastermind behind the Lions' offense — and setting him up with a scenario to work with Williams, their franchise quarterback.

Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams takes shot at Green Bay Packers fans
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams went into his rookie season making big promises about what he'd do for the franchise in his first season. While he largely fell short of expectations, he did beat the Green Bay Packers and he's now fueling the rivalry with a shot at the fan base. During an appearance at Fanatics Fest, Williams said that Packers fans 'suck' and pointed to what happened at Lambeau Field after the Bears beat Green Bay. 'Probably Green Bay. I mean, they suck. After the game, after we won at Lambeau — 1-0 at Lambeau — we tried to do the Lambeau Leap, tried to jump into the crowd where our fans were. [Packers fans] just started throwing everything at you, push you off. The Lambeau Leap, it's a real leap. It's not a little baby jump, you actually have to high jump, basically. And they're pushing you, pushing your face.' Trailing 22-21 with 54 seconds left, Williams led Chicago on a six-play, 47-yard drive to set up Cairo Santos for the game-winning field goal as time expired. However, we're not quite sure what kind of reception Williams was expecting. The quarterback's mom wasn't in that section, so none of the fans were going to give him a hug. It's also worth noting that Packers fans are often cited as one of the friendliest among NFL fan bases. If Chicago isn't in the playoff mix in Week 14, Packers fans might even respond with 'the Bears still suck' chants. Advertisement Related Headlines

Surprise — Bears QB Caleb Williams Doesn't Like Packers Fans: 'They Suck'
It's no secret that the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears, as well as their respective fan bases, despise one another, as they hold the NFL record with 210 all-time matchups. And it appears that Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is fitting right into that vitriol. Speaking at Fanatics Fest in New York City on Friday, Williams said that Packers fans "suck," as shown in a video captured by Empire Sports Media. "After the game, after we won at Lambeau — 1-0 at Lambeau — we tried to do the Lambeau Leap, tried to jump into the crowd where our fans were," Williams said. "[Packers fans] just started throwing everything at you, push you off. The Lambeau Leap, it's a real leap. It's not a little baby jump, you actually have to high jump, basically. And they're pushing you, pushing your face." The Bears and Packers split their 2025 regular-season series, with both teams winning on the other's home turf. In Week 11, the Packers blocked a would-be game-winning, 46-yard field goal from Cairo Santos as time expired in the fourth quarter. Then, in Week 18, Santos made a 51-yard field goal as time expired in the fourth quarter, which ended a 10-game losing streak on the season for the Bears, as well as an 11-game losing streak to the Packers and an eight-game losing streak at Lambeau Field. In Chicago's two games against Green Bay, Williams totaled a combined 379 passing yards, 80 rushing yards, one passing touchdown, zero interceptions and a 95.1 passer rating, while completing 73.3% of his passes. As for the season as a whole, Williams, who Chicago selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, totaled 3,541 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns, six interceptions and an 87.8 passer rating, while completing 62.5% of his passes. He also rushed for 489 yards. Williams, who started all 17 games for the Bears, ranked 44th among quarterbacks with a 67.6 overall grade, according to Pro Football Focus. Both of the Bears' and Packers' 2025 regular-season matchups will air on FOX, with the first game coming on Dec. 7 in Green Bay and the second game coming on Dec. 20 in Chicago.
